1 Awake

A bright yet cold light enveloped his body with a tinge of numbness to his body.

A whisper not loud but emanating a strong aura said " No physical power, no talent, slightly higher than average intellect ... nonetheless, it all pales in comparison to what really matters, the will to survive and adapt."

Opening his eyes he observes his surroundings. The sound of metal clashing, blood on the floor, roars of different humanoid creatures, cheers of the audience chanting "KILL! KILL! KILL!" repeatedly.

"Ha... ha... this is a dream right?" Arthur laughs coldly as he sees everything around him.

"Ahhhhh" a warrior screams as his head gets chopped clean off by a humanoid creature. Gurgles of what was left sounded in Arthur's head.

"NOPE! Not a dream! What is going on?!" as Arthur shows a look that has confusion and fear.

"Hey wait... what's that kid doing in the middle of the ring?" a spectator mumbles to himself. As he bothers the others nearby him as to notice the youth in the middle of the ring. As the other spectators notice the youth they were surprised as to what that youth was doing in the ring.

As the spectators of this event start to question what the youth was doing in the ring a voice so loud that it rendered all the other voices within the "Colosseum of the Guilty" silent.

"Do not worry about that kid! He was convicted as a murder that killed his own parents and siblings, he deserves whatever he gets in this event!" the cold dominating voice fabricated. Hearing this Arthur was shocked, what he heard didn't make sense to him at all since he was just sleeping a moment ago.

"Ah! Sorry, we doubted your majesty!" the voices within the colosseum sounded. But a faint voice within the noise said "What!? Why me? I didn't kill my family or anyone as the matter of the fact I didn't kill anyone at all! Now please let me ou..."

*Fwip*

A large broadsword slashed towards Arthur as he barely dodges the strike. Blood drips down his arm as starts to moan in pain.

"Shut up criminal you deserve everything that you are gonna get!" an angry spectator shouts at Arthur. Hearing this Arthur starts to run towards broken dagger embedded within the landscape. He wasn't the typical person that will just try to run and survive- he was a survivor. He ran away from the swordsman towards the dagger. He tried to pull it with all his strength but couldn't due to the injury he sustained from the strike earlier.

"Hahahaha! A kid like you doing this challenge? You are courting death!" said by the swordsman as he prepares to strike again. The strike this time had "Will" in it, the core foundation of every person in the realm.

"DIE!" the swordsman shouted as he swung his sword towards Arthur which was filled with The Will of Small Short Slashes- creates a slash within a short range of the strike and is weaker than the original strike by a lot.

Arthur sees this strike and dodges it, suddenly a slash appeared in his arm and was slightly bleeding. He was shocked at what had happened everything was happening way too fast and he still hasn't fully accepted that this was where he currently was. Everything up to this point was just an instinct that he had, therefore, he wasn't thinking at all about what he was doing.

As this swordsman was about to finish Arthur off, Arthur kicked this swordsman in the knees, a part of his body that wasn't armored, making the latter unbalanced and lose his grip of the sword. As Arthur sees that the swordsman had fallen down another person tried to kill Arthur with a bow but with his quick reflexes, the arrow just grazes the face leaving a mark. This time it was a ranged opponent but luckily he wasn't the only target, this archer only attacks the people who weren't focusing on her making Arthur feel a little bit relieved not having to fight a ranged opponent.

The swordsman was down but not for long as he immediately tries to get up but has difficulty due to the weight of his armor. Arthur sees this and thinks of two things: run away and try to survive or end his life right now. Contemplating on what he should choose another arrow tried to kill Arthur, he looks at the archer again as the archer notices that Arthur wasn't paying attention to her. He has to make his decision quickly.

With these two choices, he chose the former, running away, because even though they were trying to kill him he was still trying to preserve his innocence of taking a life. Even though he chose to run away he wasn't gonna let the man free instead Arthur took his sword and stabbed the swordsman's arm the same place he was stabbed. Another arrow slipped by and went towards Arthur's direction but what surprised him was that it wasn't aimed at Arthur rather the swordsman's head. A clean shot, the arrow pierced his head as he let out a final groan before dying.

Seeing this Arthur looked at his surroundings once again trying to figure out a safe place from this event. To his surprise, there were actually a few places he could go where he would be relatively safe against the other people but not against the humanoid creatures. His heart went cold as he found out that the swordsman that was in front of him was one of the relatively weaker people in the area. What he saw made him drop his jaw as he just noticed this because of the swordsman trying to kill him earlier.

"MAGIC!" he suppressed the amazement in his heart as this was not the time for amazement. There was fire magic, earth magic, metal magic, wind magic in the area but he didn't see water magic for some reason. Thinking about it those humanoid creatures might be humans that used transformation magic. With all this information he just now starts to comprehend what was currently happening.

He opened his eyes and saw people killing each other and humanoid creatures. Then a swordsman tried to kill him but was killed by the archer instead due to circumstances and now he saw different kinds of magic that people were using. He now realized what happened earlier because all the movements he did was out of pure instinct. Now it was starting to calm down as the number of people lessened and the area was less chaotic. Arthur now was weakened because of blood loss from the injury that the swordsman did to him.

"Huh... I need to stop the bleeding..." his voice has weakened and stripped a part of his shirt and bandaged the wound trying to stop the bleeding. Regardless of his situation he still has to find out what exactly happened while he was sleeping and why he was here of all the places and what was with the voice he heard before opening his eyes. There were a lot of questions that Arthur had about his situation but didn't have the luxury to ask as the scene in front of him was a battlefield filled with death.

A slow eroding pain suddenly appeared out of nowhere as his adrenaline disappeared. It was the from the wound that the arrow that the archer shot Arthur with. He felt numb as his senses slowly dwindled to nothing. All he could do was wait until it was his time because this was poison magic that the archer embued unto the arrows that she shot. He felt as if everything he did was for nothing.

"Is this really how I am gonna die?" desperation appeared in his eyes he now knew why the archer killed the swordsman instead of him earlier. As he slowly closed his eyes, an intent to survive appeared within his heart. "HELL NO! IF I AM GONNA DIE IT HAS TO BE ON MY TERMS!" a shockwave suddenly went out from his body. The poison that was eroding his lifeforce was instantly cleansed as if it wasn't even there in the first place. The shockwave from his body made the hairs on the neck of everyone in the "Colosseum of Guilt" excluding the king.

A certain numbness was felt by everyone in the Colosseum as their senses started to faintly decline. This shockwave apparently has the poison that the archer had but magnified to the extreme. The king covered the area with his magic merged his will, The Will of Weak Resistance to Attacks- increases the resistance of the person using this to a slight degree, and easily prevented the shockwave from harming the spectators.

The people outside were safe and fine but the people in this dome created by the king was struggling even the archer had difficulty in the environment and she was the one that the poison originated from so she had a certain immunity to multiple poisons but this shockwave was not an attack physically but towards a soul-eroding life force. Everyone now was at equal footing with everyone slightly dazed. Arthur thought he now has time to pick himself up before he was attacked again. Little did Arthur know that even though what he did was amazing to himself it was but an ant's attack compared to the people and this struggling was a mere annoyance to them.

The reason why they weren't affected even though the magnitude of the poison was increased was that he has a weak soul that was comparable to a baby's' and the power behind the poison wasn't focused towards living beings so the poison was mostly absorbed by the landscape. And the reason why the king blocked the shockwave was that there would be annoyed spectators that would be losing his face.

Everything Arthur did up to this point to a perspective of a normal modern person was utterly amazing but he wasn't in Earth anymore he was in another land, another world, another realm completely and the realm he was in is called Roax in the world named Regris in the land named Rhast.
