25 Ch.25 The Duel.

A few days have passed now since I told Hermione about my side of the story. We were sitting in the transfiguration class and McGonagall was teaching us about transforming living material into inanimate objects and aside from Potions and Charms, this is my third favourite class.

McGonagall said, "Do you have any questions?"

Hermione raised her hand and Hermione asked, "Can you tell us more about the Chamber of secrets?"

After that McGonagall started to monologue about the chamber of secrets. I saw many of the faces that looked at me and thought of me as the heir to Salazar. They wouldn't be wrong about that. After the class was finished Hermione stayed behind to talk to McGonagall.

I wanted to go and talk to the snake to see if I could control it. If the theories are right only the Heir to Salazar Slytherin will be able to control it fully. And I am an Heir.

I always thought that Harry might be able to do it as well but as it turns out. Being a Parselmouth is not enough you need to have Salazar's Blood in you to be able to control the snake.

But I couldn't go and talk to it because I had framed myself as a suspect and now people are keeping a close eye on me, and the reason I did so was that Malfoy would do something stupid.

So I would be able to shift the power from Fudge. But the plans have fallen through Malfoy hasn't moved at all yet, not even against Dumbledor.

So I now have to wait till the Duel so that the attention can be on Harry. After that, I will be able to move freely.

A few days have passed now and the amount of students in the infirmary has increased. A good thing did come to form this the school now has opened a duelling club so that we could protect ourselves.

(In the Library)

I was studying for once and it was a book that I had copied from the ROR. It was about magic rituals, how to incorporate different beasts into one's body and make it stronger and gain power. It was an interesting read.

It had told successful ways to complete the rituals with different beasts like Wapus cat, Thunderbird and other more rare creature's like Basilisk, Dragons and Pheonix

Victoria asked, "You are actually studying for once."

I said, "Yeah, just wanted to lay low for a while after my shenanigans."

Victoria asked, "You heard about the Dueling lessons?"

I said "Of course I have. I am very excited although I would have been more excited if someone other than Lockhart were to teach us."

Alyssa said, "I don't know he can be a good teacher."

I smiled and said, "Then prepare to be disappointed, my friend."

Hermione said, "I think that Prof Lockhart can teach us something."

I said, "Wanna Bet on it?" Daphne and Victoria had a grin on their faces.

Alyssa and Hermione said "We accep..." but were interrupted by Olivia and she said, "Don't do it he is going to win." They looked at Olivia's face and she was serious and then they looked at mine and I had this stupid smile and asked "So?"

They looked at each other and nodded and said: "We accept but if we win you teach us magic and if we lose you get a favour."

I said "I accept this bet." and we shook on it and after that, I said "I will hold onto those favours. You won't be able to say 'No' anything I say." They sort of regretted it but on the upside, if they win they get to learn magic from me.

(We all were gathered in the hall for the demonstration.)

Lockhart came prancing around the table and said "Gather around children. Can everybody hear me? Can everybody see me? Excellent."

He turned and continued " In light of the dark events of recent weeks, Prof. Dumbledore has granted me the permission to start this duelling club. So that I could train you to be able to defend yourself. As I myself has done on countless occasions. For full details see my published works." He then removed his robe and threw the robe towards the crowd. and the girls gasped.

I was standing with Victoria and Daphne and other Slytherins and Harry was practically staring me to death. I said in a hushed tone to Victoria "It looks like your brother still suspects me."

She said, "He is stubborn like Dada. Don't mind him."

I said, "I don't." I then saw him meet with Justin. Poor Harry he is going to get blamed by him after a few moments.

Lockhart then continued "Let me introduce you to my assistant Prof. Snape" He looked like that kid whose mom made him talk to the unpopular kid so that the kid doesn't feel lonely. Lockhart continued "He has sportingly agreed to help."

I then looked to my right and said to Ted "want some action on this?"

He said, "Way ahead of you Jon already got some wagers some stupid girls and some Hufflepuff's still think that Lockhart is going to win."

I said, "Damn these guys are fools and we would be bigger fools if we didn't take their money. Here tell me the odds."

He had an evil smile and said "One out of ten Snape losses."

I grinned and said "Here take my money,"

Lockhart continued "He is going to help with a demonstration. Now I assure you everything will be fine. I don't want any of you, youngsters, to Worry." He stopped and continued with a lot of arrogance in his tone and said "You will still have your potions master. When I am through with him. Never fear"

The Girls looked at us smiling like fools and they said in a disappointing tone. "Boys."

They both came face to face and took stance bowed and took positions. and the countdown began "One, Two, Three."

Snape was faster and said "Expeliamus" and Lockhart had lost and a thundering cheer came from Slytherin house and many at the Griffindor house which surprised Snape. But the reason for their cheering was money.

I then looked at Alyssa and then at Hermione and they both regretted betting on Lockhart.

Lockhart said "An excellent demonstration prof. Snape. But if you don't mind me saying it was pretty obvious. What you were about to do, and had I wanted to stop you, it would have been only too easy."

In a hushed tone, I said, "Yeah tell yourself that see if that helps your ego."

Snape said, "Perhaps, it would be prudent to first teach students how to block unfriendly spells prof."

Lockhart looked lost and said "An excellent idea prof. snape! Let's have some Volunteers." He looked and said, "Potter, Weasly how about you?"

Ron was very happy for a second before he heard Snape talk "Weasley's wands cause devastation, with the simplest spells. We'll be sending Mr potter in a Matchbox to the Hospital Wing.

Might I suggest someone from my own house?" Draco looked happy and was moving towards the podium but when he heard "Perhaps Jonathan ?" He looked at me and directed me to go

I said to Ted "Stack me against potter."

Ted looked confused and asked "Why? You will be able to end him like that *snap*."

I then looked at Ted and then he got it and he said "House always wins"

I smiled and said, "You catch on quickly."

I then walked up to Draco and looked at him and said "So close yet so far." he looked like he was about to burst with anger.

I claimed on the table we came face to face. Lockhart said "Wands at the ready."

Harry said, "I will take you down?"

I smiled and said "Last time we fought it ended up you and your buddy there unconscious in the Hospital Wing. What makes you think this time is going to be different."

I bowed but he didn't, it was disrespectful. We moved away and took a stance we took Normal stance that helped me in Dogging.

Lockhart said "On the count of three cast your charms on the count of three. Cast your charms to disarm your opponent and only to disarm them. we don't want any accidents here." He started to count the adrenaline started to rise with the count "One, two, three."

He cast a charm first and it was not Expelliamus it was "Rictusempra!". A beam of white light came towards me I dodged it easily I just stepped to my right and it passed through. I said, mockingly "Is that all?"

He then grunted and unleashed a flurry of spells towards me but before he could cast them I cast one of my one "corps rapide." The spell helped you to move quickly I was significantly fast and with the help of that spell, I was able to doge all of the spell.

As I dodged the spells all the spectators were in awe I said: "Come on Harry you can do better than this." I was provoking him so that he would make a mistake.

He still cast many spells like the pinching spell, the boil spell, the slug spell and so on. I said, "I grow bored of this Harry." and as he was out of breath and I said " Let's end this Expelliamus! Rictusempra!"

He got disarmed and then got knocked down. The crowd went wild. And I said, "Told you it would end any different than last time."

And then I moved towards the crowed and the Slytherins genuinely cheered for me which was new for me. I then walked towards my group and said "How did you like my performance?"

Victoria said "You could have ended it in seconds. Why did you drag it so long?"

I said "If I have anything from Lockhart it is that presentation is everything. And I like to show off."

Ted came and I asked "How much?"

Ted said "1100 Galleons total."

I said "Nice." Honestly, that kind of money was pocket change for me but I won them so they felt good.

Lockhart then said "That was an exceptional demonstration by Mr Jonathan and Mr Potter. Now the next one. How about Miss Hermione from Griifndor and Draco from Slytherin." looks like Lockhart took pity on Draco.

Hermione was nervous so we decided to cheer her our friend and I didn't even have to ask them. We were anomalies within the system of this School. Few Slytherins cheering for a Griffindor, quite unusual I must say.

Draco and the other Slytherins didn't like that one bit. He looked at her and said, "Scared mudblood."

She said, "We'll see in a bit who's scared."

Neither of them Bowed and Lockhart said "On the count of three cast your charms on the count of three. Cast your charms to disarm your opponents this time please?"

Lockhart said "One, Two" and on two Draco did the opposite and used "Serpensortia!" and a snake came. It hissed and slithered on the table

and Snape slapped the back of the head of Draco and said "Don't move miss Granger. I will get it for you."

But was stopped by Lockhart and said "Allow me, Prof. Snape" and pointed his wand at the snake and said "Alarte Acendare!" and the spell launched the snake sky high and now the snake was pissed.

And as scheduled Harry started to speak "Parseltoungue" but he used the words would, could, kindly and please. I mean we can command them to do anything and you are requesting them politely.

It was more like a thing that Harry would do. But a life is at stakes here you can just tell them not to and they won't it is not a time to be gentle right now.

And the snake kind of moved towards Justin. It was trying to scare everyone. It would have killed him if he had moved which he did. Harry got him under control and snape took the opportunity and got rid of the snake.

Everyone was shocked and confused but the one that was the most in shock was Harry himself cause he didn't even know what he had done.

And now I was free to move as I pleased tonight I visit the Snake.

I would like to thank you readers for allowing me to rectify my mistakes and I will make sure to think more about the consequences of the actions that Mc takes.

I will like to tell you what would I have done to correct the mistakes of Mc about telling Hermione that it was a Basilisk. Mc would have had to use 'le charme de l'esprit' on Hermione.

The spell works more like the Imperious Curse but the victim doesn't remember that the charm was used on him/her. The victim can not resist the charm like Imperious. And the Charms makes you think that whatever you were doing was your idea.

The Mc would have used it on her erased the part where he was the one who gave him the information and etc. But it turns out if I had done that the whole character of Mc would have become a bit weird.

Right now the Mc is Arrogant and thinks he is smart and thinks that nothing can bring him down. If I were to change that it would have felt wrong with me. While in reality, the mc is still a stupid jackass who is practising magic out in the open. That also makes him arrogant and stupid. All this will be pointed out in the future and he will change again.

And I was thinking of a Title change to

Harry Potter: The Prince of Serpents.

Harry Potter: The Bastard Child.

or any other suggestion you guys offer we have until Monday to think about it and I promise today I will upload the Legacies FF's first chapter. The Name will be Legacies : A legacy of a Demon
