27 C26 Suppression

Dear Diary,

This if Fleur. I just wanted to tell you the most bizarre thing happened today. Charlus went missing yesterday and we all went looking for him. Me and Charlotte went to the Dining Hall. We couldn't find him there. So we waited for Henri and Lucifer. They went to their dorm, but Charlus wasn't there.

I was very mad at Charlus. I thought all of us were his friends. He should have told us that he went somewhere. Bu then Selene and Lucas came from Madame Maxime's office. Henri was still scared, but I don't know what's scary about Madame Maxime. She is a very kind person. Anyway, they told that Charlus was with Sirius, and that he was unwell.

Today, he didn't show up in any of our classes. We had Etiquette first, and for some reason, Madame Abadie was happy that Charlus didn't come. I hate that person. She's an old bat. Then we had Magic theory. When Professor Papillon found that Charlus was absent, he felt a bit glum. I don't know why, but maybe he liked Charlus more.

In our etiquette class, we had a class on courtship. Thank Merlin we didn't have a practical on that. I would have to pair up with someone else and if it was Nasper, ugh! Madame Abadie was droning about what a gentle man was supposed to say, and I just couldn't pay attention.

I looked around and saw Charlotte looking out of the window. She wasn't paying attention too. Selene was simply playing with her hair. She was very lucky. Since she was a muggle-born, she didn't have all this nonsense. She could pick whoever she thought was right for her and no one would say anything.

I was always jealous about Selene. She didn't have Nasper behind her like me. She didn't have to be a heiress to a big family and go through hours of classes even before school. Even Charlotte had it good. She had an older brother, so she just has to get married.

Then I thought about Charlus. I felt worried about him. Where was he? What was he doing? Was he okay? All these questions were in my mind. Then Madame Abadie told me to stand up. She asked me to repeat what she said.

I didn't know what to say. She asked again harshly. I relied that she told me to repeat what she said. Every one in the class laughed. I didn't know what was funny but I laughed too. Only Madame Abadie didn't laugh. She gave me detention for 3:00. I was sure she knew about how I met my friends at that time.

Magic theory was better. Professor Papillon was explaining the Lumos Charm. He didn't give us a toy wand or anything. He just wanted us to pronounce the spell. It was boring for some time, but then he said that if we get the pronunciation right, we get a chocolate. I got it right the third time.

He gave us a chocolate that was wrapped in a very interesting material. It was smooth, and made a lot of noise when I crumbed it after opening the chocolate. The chocolate was called Milky Way.

After everyone was done with their chocolate, Professor Papillon smiled and said that the wrapper was made of something called plastic. He also said that the chocolate was made by muggles. Everyone except muggle-borns were surprised. We all thought muggles couldn't do anything, but they made something so delicious. Then he said that muggles had progressed and that we could learn from them.

Then the bell rang, and a lot of classmates went out, and in front of them was Nasper. He was part of the Aubert family, and they were allied with the Malfoys. They were completely against muggles and muggle-borns.

After that, I went to lunch with Charlotte. I had Bouillabaisse, while Charlotte had something else, but I can't remember what it was. I just remember that when I offered her Bouillabaisse, she said she didn't like it.

Charlotte went to meet the others at 3, while I went to Madame Abadie's office for detention. I hate that woman. When I went to her office, she told me to sit down and she made me write lines. She made me write that I would pay attention in class. I had to write a thousand lines. So it took me almost 2 hours to finish writing the lines.

I knew that my friends would go back to their dorms by that time, so I went back to finish my homework. I saw that Charlotte was in the dorm and so we did our homework together. We went to dinner at 7, and came back at 8 and were ready to sleep. But then, just some time back, I felt that some force was trying to make me kneel on the floor. It pressed me down onto my bed. It was only for a second, and Charlotte didn't find anything odd, but I remembered what mother used to say.

She said that it was bloodline suppression, when a creature of the same attribute as me, but wat stronger appeared, I would feel the suppression. I was a bit worried and I immediately wrote a letter to mother and am now waiting for a reply. I don't know many creatures that suppress veelas, but I only know that Phoenix is one of them. But I know that's not true, but I want to be sure so I asked mother.

Anyway, I hope tomorrow will be a normal day, and I hope Charlus will become better.
