Chapter 96: Chaos

With Arthur stepping down, the duel came to an end.

"Brilliant! Mr. Gaunt and Mr. Travers have given us a wonderful duel."

Mr. Lockhart's voice broke the silence.

The young wizards snapped out of their daze, applauding warmly for the exciting tactics and dazzling magic they had witnessed.

The professors also praised Arthur, especially Professor Flitwick, who was so moved that tears flooded up in his eyes.

The professors could tell that Arthur controlled how strong his spells were. Throughout the entire battle, he only used one Shield Charm and a transfiguration spell.

Arthur had learned enough about magic to be able to use it without much trouble. Even the last fire dragon was made by his careful use of magic instead of a complicated spell.

As for Simone on the stage, he had already been rescued by Professor Snape.

He didn't suffer burns from the fire, but the smoke had left him somewhat burned. Simone was scared as she looked at Arthur.

He probably wished he could go back in time and stop himself from provoking Arthur.

Arthur calmly walked back to Cho and Hermione, and the crowd naturally made way for him.

The young wizards now looked at Arthur with even more admiration.

Later, Professor Lockhart and Snape assigned everyone to their respective group, and the young wizards began practicing.

Whether on purpose or not, most of the Gryffindor were paired with Slytherin.

Arthur saw Gryffindor's Beater, Angelina, pulling the hair of a Slytherin girl.

Lee Jordan was using his wand like a sword and hitting a Slytherin with it.

Professor Snape spoke up, "Mr. Gaunt, let's join forces and separate them."

Arthur nodded and didn't refuse. He waved his wand, casting a dozen spells that separated the fighting young wizards.

Meanwhile, Madam Pomfrey, who was nearby, looked upset as she started to help the injured young wizards.

"Dumbledore shouldn't have agreed to a ridiculous proposal. He didn't consider the safety issues. Reckless! Too reckless!" She muttered while distributing various potions to the young wizards.

Within five minutes, most of the young wizards had improved, but a few with broken noses might need a few days to rest.

It's safe to say that the young wizards at Hogwarts know how to fight in close combat.

"Alright, everyone! Today's club activity ends here! Please stay tuned to the notice board for the next activity."

Seeing that the trouble was resolved, Professor Lockhart breathed a sigh of relief and quickly ended today's event.

When they heard that it was over, the young wizards were a bit disappointed.

They rarely had the opportunity to unleash their spells so freely.

Arthur and Cho also returned to the changing room, but on their way, they were stopped by someone.

He then led Malfoy to an empty classroom.

Arthur sat down in a chair and leaned back, calmly looking at Draco.

"What's the matter?"

Draco didn't sit down. Instead, he stood directly in front of Arthur and asked, "Did you teach Potter that magic?"

Arthur didn't expect Malfoy to ask about this, but he had no intention of hiding it and simply nodded.

"Yes, I taught him."

"Then, can you teach me too?" After hesitating for a moment, Draco spoke up.

"You?"

Arthur was surprised.

"Why would you want me to teach you magic?"

Draco firmly replied, "Because you're powerful! By following you, I can learn what true pure-blood glory is!"

After saying his piece, Draco stood still, waiting for Arthur's decision.

Taking a closer look at Draco, Arthur noticed that the slight trace of motives between his eyebrows had been lost, and that weird arrogance was gone.

"I can teach you, but what is it for me?" Arthur pondered for a moment and asked Draco in return.

When Draco heard this, he opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

Indeed, what could he bring to Arthur?

He wasn't Arthur's friend and didn't have the right to ask Arthur to train him without offering anything in return.

Standing up and patting Draco's shoulder, Arthur left the classroom, leaving behind final words.

"Once you figure out what you want to gain and what you can offer in return, come find me."
