9 Chapter 9: Sorting Hat Ceremony (2)

Arthur got hungry just by looking at the food on the table. Even though he had eaten a lot of snacks on the train, he was growing quickly and was hungry again.

In addition, the Hogwarts house elves were talented at cooking, and their food was artistically and aromatically appealing.

Roast beef, pork chops, lamb ribs, mashed potatoes, French fries, hot dogs, Yorkshire pudding, meat sauce, French onion soup...

Arthur immediately grabbed a piece of steak, dipped up some meat sauce, and started eating happily. Cho, who wasn't very hungry, helped him pick up some food.

Suddenly, while Arthur was enjoying the food Cho fed him, he noticed a very jealous gaze coming from a nearby older student.

Looking up, he saw Roger Davies, a fourth-year student, looking at them with envy on his face.

"Hello, my name is Roger Davis, a fourth-year student. You're really amazing. You just entered the school and already managed to win over the most beautiful girl in Ravenclaw. Can you teach me?" he said, his face full of admiration.

Cho blushed at his words, but she didn't deny them.

Arthur jokingly replied, "If you can be as handsome as me, you can do it too. Maybe you also need to use your wand to summon a phoenix."

Hearing Arthur's joke, Cho blushed even more and pinched him on the waist. But thinking back to the scene that day, she couldn't help but laugh.

Seeing the flirting interaction between the two, Roger Davies couldn't help but feel frustrated. 'Wasn't he here to learn how to pursue girls? Why did they have to tease him like that?'

...

As everyone finished their meal and became full, the leftovers on the table disappeared as well.

"Alright, before everyone goes to bed, let's sing the school song together!" Dumbledore waved his wand lightly, and golden words appeared in the hall, forming the school song lyrics.

"Get ready to sing!"

With Dumbledore's guidance, all the students and teachers began to sing their own parts in harmony.

At the Gryffindor table, the Weasley twins sang with solemn faces to the tune of a funeral march. Arthur watched them with raised eyebrows.

After the song ended, Dumbledore wiped away a tear from the corner of his eye and gave some reminders. Then, the prefects of each house led the students from their respective houses back to their rooms.

The prefect for Ravenclaw is Dietrich Watkins, a sixth-year student.

He led everyone out of the dining hall, up the marble staircase, and took a shortcut that quickly brought them to the tower. Then he saw the door to the common room.

A hawk-shaped bronze door handle was quietly resting on the door. Dietrich approached and gently touched the hawk.

Suddenly, the eagle seemed to come to life and spoke. "What word is the most appropriate to describe an ugly girl as beautiful?"

Dietrich didn't rush to answer but instead looked interestedly at the new students behind him.

"You can try to answer it. Ravenclaw is unique and has no fixed password. As long as you have wisdom, Ravenclaw welcomes anyone to visit."

"But if you can't answer his question, even if you're a Ravenclaw student, you'll have to wait for someone else to open the door. However, if anyone answers this question, they will get their own private room."

A few first-year students discussed among themselves, but no one stepped forward to answer.

Arthur was very interested in having his own private room, as he had so many secrets to keep, and having his own space would prevent others from discovering them.

Approaching the door, Arthur whispered, "Lie."

"Correct." As the words fell, the door slowly opened.

The other students looked at him enviously. They also wanted a private room. Dietrich smiled and led them to their room, finally giving Arthur to a smaller room.

Arthur looked around when he walked into the room and was happy with what he saw. A double bed was in the middle of the room. On the right was a large desk, and on the left was a closet and a door leading to a changing room.

Arthur put the piece of paper with his name on it in the room in front of his bed. Not long after, his luggage appeared in his room.

Arthur couldn't help but smile. This must be a house elf sensing his message and magically moving his luggage over.

Just then, the voice of the system suddenly rang in his mind.

"Ding, detected that the host had successfully entered in school. The daily task section is now activated. Completing daily tasks can earn 100 gold coins. There is no punishment for failure."

Arthur opened the system when he heard this and carefully looked at the new feature. At the time, this was his only way to earn gold coins over and over again.

Daily tasks, as the name suggests, refresh three tasks every day. Completing any two tasks will earn you the full reward. For example, today's tasks are:

[Cast the Flying Charm 0/10 times]

[Read the Standard Spells - Beginner level 0/30 pages]

[Play with Furry for 0/10 minutes]

Arthur simply smiled when he saw this. He didn't think that his Daily task was hard enough to make him fight Voldemort right away.

After packing his luggage, Arthur snapped his fingers, and suddenly a burst of flame appeared, and Furry the phoenix appeared in the air.

Then she flew to Arthur's side and gently pecked his hand to express its dissatisfaction at not being summoned all day.

"Okay, okay, my bad. I didn't want to scare my roommates," Arthur said. He originally did not plan to summon Furry to Hogwarts. After all, having a phoenix at the beginning could easily scare his roommates.

He planned to get to know them for a while before summoning Furry. However, he was lucky enough to be given a single room, so he no longer had to worry about this.

After playing with Furry for a while and practicing the Flying Charm ten times, Arthur successfully completed today's tasks. He opened his personal panel.

After admiring the strength he had gained through his hard work (or perhaps with the help of the system), Arthur washed up and lay down on his bed, falling into a deep sleep.
