Chapter 29: Troll

Smelling the strong smell in the air, Arthur frowned and ran towards the direction of the bathroom.

Not long after, Arthur arrived at the girl's bathroom entrance and heard someone's heavy footsteps inside. Without hesitation, Arthur immediately ran inside and saw the huge troll.

This creature was at least twelve feet tall, with pale and lifeless skin, a small head on its giant body that looked extremely fast, and its legs were thick.

A young witch was backed into a corner, so scared that she had forgotten to scream.

Who else could it have been if not Hermione?

Seeing the troll approaching Hermione step by step, Arthur raised his hand and released a bunch of birds (Bird-Conjuring Charm).

The rock on the ground was lifted into the air and formed a line, hitting the troll's head.

Arthur didn't dare to use too much magic power because he was afraid of accidentally hurting Hermione by knocking the giant away. The strength was just right, attracting the attention of the troll.

The troll sensed that someone had attacked him from behind, turned around, and couldn't figure out what was happening for a bit before slowly walking toward Arthur.

When the giant was almost by his side, Arthur petrified it with a single spell, keeping the troll frozen in place.

At the same time, he quickly moved around the giant and came to Hermione's side. Hermione saw Arthur come and finally couldn't help but start sobbing quietly.

At this moment, Arthur had no time to comfort the young witch.

The troll had a high resistance to magic, and it was likely that it would recover soon.

When Arthur ran to stand in front of Hermione and protect her, the troll began to shake, and it was about to break free from the petrification spell.

He pointed his wand at the giant.

"Expulso"

Arthur didn't hold back, releasing a high-level explosive curse.

Pure magic didn't do much damage to the troll, and dark arts were not suitable to use. He could only rely on the physical damage caused by the explosive curse to injure the troll.

The troll took a full hit of the explosive curse and was blown away by the huge shockwave. The troll was smashed through the wall of the bathroom and flew out.

Arthur's wand flew out of his hand and into the air. He quickly had an idea and pointed his finger at the wand. The wand transformed into a sword in midair, its blade reflecting silver light and extremely sharp.

"Waddiwasi"

Arthur shouted, casting an advanced jinx that could make an object shoot towards an enemy at an incredibly fast speed.

The sword flew towards the troll like a magical artifact controlled by him. Within just two seconds, the sword hit the giant's throat while it was still in midair, pinning it to the corridor wall.

"My Merlin!" came a shout from outside, sounding like the voices of Professors McGonagall and Professors Flitwick.

When seeing the troll creature pinned to the wall, the professors rushed in, and Arthur finally breathed a sigh of relief. He took the sobbing young witch in his arms and led her out of the bathroom.

As expected, Professors McGonagall, Flitwick, and Snape were waiting outside the door to rush in. They were surprised to see Arthur appear with the young witch.

Soon after, Professor Quirell arrived and he squatted on the ground and sobbed after looking at the troll.

Professor Snape glanced at Arthur before turning to see the creature pinned to the wall.

Professor McGonagall's face turned pale as she tightly pursed her lips.

"What on earth were you two doing? Mr. Gaunt and Miss Granger, I need an explanation!" she demanded.

McGonagall was both frightened and angry at the same time. Two first-year students dared to fight against a giant troll.

It was well-known that trolls had poor intelligence, but their high magic resistance made many adult wizards who had graduated from Hogwarts struggle to defeat them.

At first, Professor Flitwick was also worried, but when he saw that the two students were safe, he felt relieved and walked over to see how they had managed to kill the troll.

"Sorry, Professor, we were on a date and didn't expect to run into a giant in the castle. I had no choice but to fight with this big troll," Arthur explained.

"A date? In the girls' bathroom?!" Professor McGonagall's voice grew. She couldn't believe that young wizards these days were so wild.

"Yes, Professor, there were few people here earlier." Arthur replied calmly without blushing.

Professor Snape looked at Arthur with a hint of disdain.

Professor Flitwick also looked at Arthur with an awkward expression. He knew about Arthur's relationship with Cho.

Professor Flitwick didn't expect this genius young wizard to be so playboy.

Hermione, who was still being held in Arthur's arms was blushing. She knew Arthur was saying this to protect her from Professor McGonagall's punishment.

But she was still embarrassed, and her mind was a mess, and she couldn't help but think about it.

Then she thought of Arthur's relationship with the second-year Ravenclaw student and felt even more complicated inside.
