201 Chapter 201: The Truth

"Come in!"

Lupin's voice came from inside, and Arthur pushed the door open and walked in.

Seeing Arthur, Lucius was surprised but still warmly welcomed him. They sat on the visitor's sofa, and Lupin asked about Arthur's purpose for coming.

"Gaunt, is there something you want from me?"

Lupin's expression was slightly nervous. Since his time at Hogwarts, he has gained some understanding of Arthur.

He was the one who invented the Wolfsbane Potion he drinks every month.

Arthur was known for being very talented, influential, and well-respected at Hogwarts.

These words were not an exaggeration when describing Arthur and his status at Hogwarts.

Lupin thought Arthur had come to reveal his secret as a werewolf since Arthur had such a deep understanding of werewolves, as evidenced by his creation of the Wolfsbane Potion.

Also, Arthur had a strong relationship with Severus Snape. Lupin was sure that Arthur had come to expose him today.

But Lupin felt proud that he had managed to keep it hidden from Arthur for almost an entire semester. He couldn't ask for more.

With these thoughts in mind, Lupin sighed and leaned back on the sofa, left to his fate.

"Arthur, come on, I won't resist."

???

Three huge question marks appeared in his mind. Since sitting here, Lupin's face has been changing color like a master of disguise.

Finally, he said something that puzzled him. Arthur had no idea what Lupin was saying. He felt like there was something seriously wrong with him.

Arthur took out the Marauder's Map and handed it to Lupin.

Lupin's face turned pale when he saw the Marauder's Map. He didn't expect Arthur to know so much about him and even have this item.

"Professor Lupin, or should I say Mr. Moony, I suggest you take a look at this map. In the Gryffindor Common Room, you might find something surprising," Arthur suggested.

Lupin took the Marauder's Map hesitantly and quickly found the surprise that Arthur had mentioned. His face changed, and he exclaimed in disbelief, "Peter Pettigrew?"

It had been more than a decade since he had seen his friend's name.

He wondered how Pettigrew could still be alive, he had always thought he had died years ago.

"What's going on? Peter was supposed to have died all those years ago, wasn't he?"

Seeing Lupin's disbelieving expression, Arthur smiled and explained their deal with Sirius and the events of the past.

"So, you're saying that Peter is the one who killed James and the others, and Sirius has been wrongly accused all these years?!"

Lupin immediately stood up, completely bewildered.

One thing was sure now—Peter was still alive, which meant that the closed case had become more complicated.

"Where is Sirius now? I want to see him."

Lupin said. He didn't believe Arthur's words alone and wanted to meet Sirius to carefully ask about what had happened in the past.

"He's waiting for us at the Shrieking Shack. If you have nothing else to do, Professor Lupin, we can go there now,"

Arthur said, standing up. He wanted to resolve this matter quickly because he still had to go back and accompany Nagini in her sleep.

Lupin followed Arthur through a secret passage to reach Hogsmeade, and when they saw the Shrieking Shack...

Lupin stopped in his tracks, his expression complicated as he gazed at the house.

In the past, they had shared happy memories here, but now everything was different.

James was dead, Sirius had been captured, Peter had lived with the Weasley family for over a decade, and he himself had been wandering through life.

"Alright, Professor, let's go inside,"

Arthur urged from the side. He didn't have time to stay here with Lupin, reminiscing about the past.

At that moment, Sirius was anxiously walking inside the house. As soon as he saw the two of them enter, he became excited.

"Remus!"

"Sirius!"

The two of them walked quickly towards each other and hugged.

After not seeing each other for over a decade, they naturally had a lot to catch up on.

When Sirius repeated all the details of what happened back then to Lupin, Lupin completely believed him.

He completely sided with them.

"So, what do we do next?"

Sirius looked at Arthur, waiting for his next instructions.

Arthur stroked his chin and thought for a moment before making a decision.

"The next weekend will be the last time we come to Hogwarts this semester. I'll bring Harry and Ron with me. Then, we'll tell Harry the truth, restrain Peter Pettigrew, and go find Dumbledore together. That way, it will be more credible."

Lupin and Sirius nodded, approving of his suggestion.

They discussed the details and agreed that Lupin wouldn't show himself at first, staying hidden to prevent Peter Pettigrew from escaping.

Although Arthur really wanted to say that there was no need for that at all, with his abilities, even if there were ten Wormtails, they wouldn't be able to escape.

But seeing their determination, he let them feel a sense of participation.

After discussing the important matters, Arthur left Lupin behind and returned to Hogwarts.

After Arthur left, Sirius's expression became serious.

"Lupin, what do you think of him?" he asked.

Who? Gaunt?

Lupin quickly understood that Sirius was referring to Arthur and carefully chose his words.

"Lupin is probably the most talented wizard in history, and even the You-Know-Who can't compare to him."

I mean, as his professor, you should have more time to understand him than I do.

Sirius always had a faint guard against Arthur.

It wasn't because he feared that Arthur would harm him, but because Lupin was really mysterious, and he was also a close friend of Harry.

He couldn't help but worry about Harry's safety.

Patting Sirius on the shoulder, Lupin comforted him, saying, "Don't worry, Sirius. Arthur's personality is clear to everyone at school. You should consider yourself lucky to be his friend. But becoming his enemy would be your nightmare."

In the last sentence, there was a clear warning in Lupin's words.

He wasn't worried about Arthur but about Sirius.

Based on the Patronuses that appeared last time, Sirius and Lupin were no match for him.

Hearing Lupin's words, although Sirius still had some concerns, he could only nod.
