2 In the Void

Somewhere in a Dark Void

John's POV

"W-What?! What is happening?! Why's it so far here?

As I opened my eyes, I saw nothing but pitch black space or occasionally the colour purple thrown around as I wandered through this unexplainable place.

After what seemed like a few hours of wandering and floating around I pretty much don't have any legs. Then I heard a whirring sound nearby.

(Wwwhiiiirrrr) As that sound was made it was getting if I went near it

I decided to follow that strange sound as at least it was better than just constantly looking at pitch black. When I practically got closer to that weird sound, I was hit by a bright light. The white-coloured bright light was an eyesore yet also a great change of scenery from just black and purple.

When the bright light came, it started to manifest a shape, slowly changing to a humanoid form while simultaneously the light gradually dimmed to a perceivable level to see. When it all finished, I saw an older-looking man.

The old man has long white-coloured hair, grey eyes that look like a storm or an overcast, a long beard reaching down to his chest, and his facial expression indicating surprise, curiosity, and a sense of pity.

He was wearing a white and pale gold-coloured toga with a beige cloak and brown sandals.

Old man: Son, why are you here in this void?

"I honestly don't know, I was just completing a random survey on my computer thinking that I either got scammed or rewarded but then there was a bright flashing light and the next thing I know I ended up here."

Old man: Hmmm. I think I know what happened, it was because of that survey. You were not supposed to be here but due to a minor bug in the system, the location you were supposed to go was to me but the mistake was that the system thought that you were condemned. So the system placed you here to await judgment.

"It was good to know what happened and all that but who exactly are you?"

Old man: For all of humanity, I was called many things. God, Allah, Chaos, and even Kami, in reality, I am just a supreme omnipotent entity, I control and manage this universe and make sure nothing catastrophic happens. All these gods were merely aspects of my existence.

"Wow, I didn't know you existed until now, Is this your real appearance?"

SOE: No, this is merely just a form I took so your mind can comprehend me, for my true appearance will make you insane after a glance. I do not want to make that mistake like the last time.

"I didn't know you can make mistakes, but what will happen now?"

SOE: Sometimes things happen, though very rarely. As for you, I will have to reincarnate you to another like originally planned and for that minor error in the system, I'll reimburse you with a major perk of your choosing.

"Aww, Thanks! So how will the process go?

SOE: I will summon a wheel, and you will spin 3 times for a world to reincarnate a minor perk and a wish. However, the wish has significant limitations due to certain unforeseen circumstances that made this ruling.

Since you will gain a major perk, you will have an opportunity to use it for an additional benefit.

Then SOE snapped his fingers and the spinning wheel appeared in front of me instantly.

SOE: This wheel in particular lets you randomly choose which world you are going to reincarnate. Let us hope that you will get a chance at a good world.

After digesting the information I was given, I quickly spun the wheel and it started spinning rapidly to the point all of it was blurry. It went on like that for 5 minutes until the wheel slowly halted to a standstill.

Just as it was going to stop, the point was near to the "Akame ga Kill" world but luckily with a sigh of breath. The wheel stopped at "Harry Potter" World.

SOE: Son, You are in luck, The world you are going to will have some minor changes but do not worry it is nothing too detrimental nor difficult for you to achieve. Now I will set a holographic list of minor perks for you to choose and remember to choose wisely.

All of a sudden, a large holographic screen appeared right in front of me, with the size 2 by 3 metres and having a translucent light blue colour, The screen showed various perks or powers that I could choose from. From "Enhanced Strength" to "Moderate Damage Resistance", all the perks were neither weak nor powerful, it was only strong enough for a person to have a slight advantage over other individuals.

I looked at the screen for a little while to search for a perk suitable to me, until I noticed something that interested me.

"Excuse Me? What does Moderate Health Regeneration entail?"

SOE: Ahh, this particular perk, as one of the many minor perks anyone can choose from, the Moderate Health regeneration allows you to recover and restore your health and wellness in a significantly quicker way than normal. But it comes with some limitations, you do not have any immunity against major diseases, poisoning, and other illnesses, though you will have moderate to high resistance towards them depending on your lifestyle.

You can recover from injuries half the length of what your impending body receives and is capable of. As for common sicknesses and minor injuries, you will be almost immune to them and with minor injuries such as sprains, fractures, bruises, and cuts, you will heal from them very quickly. As for alcohol, you gain some resistance from it, preventing you from easily getting drunk and maintaining a certain level of tolerance.

"Very interesting! It's good to know as I choose this minor perk for my next life. Also, I have a question. Do I get to keep my memories?"

SOE: Yes, you will be able to retain your memories in your next life. But make sure you do not tell anyone under any circumstance that you're a reincarnated individual! They will think you're insane. That will negatively impact your reputation if you do that.

"I will keep that in mind, so do I get to choose a character to reincarnate into or make a new body?

SOE: No, you will reincarnate randomly. There's nothing you could do but on the plus side, it will be human as I made it automatically made it a default reincarnation. Now, it's time to choose a major perk to reincarnate with.

Another big holographic screen appeared in front of me once and yet there is a noticeable difference in this screen. Similar to the last screen, there are multiple options for perks but this one has more variety and varies by power and strength of the perks rather than a hodgepodge of random abilities. I honestly didn't what to choose as there were many options such as "Hanma's Physiology" or "Shapeshifting" and even "Teleportation" would be useful, but I had to choose one. After looking at the screen for a few minutes, I found something that piqued my interest and chose something that was both useful and not too overly powerful for me and would make me feel bored after a while.

"I Choose Telepathy (Intermediate Level), Tell me? What does this power also entail?"

SOE: For Telepathy that is in the intermediate at its maximum limit, you have access to all its basic level abilities, but you can only access a few advanced level abilities. The advanced-level abilities you can access are Control Negation, Information Detection, Information Transfer, Information Download, Mental Inducement, and Telepathic Invisibility. Though on Telepathic Invisibility, there are some limitations on this specific ability you can only make yourself fully invisible to people around the same level of power as you or below you. When you try to use this ability on more powerful individuals, you will not be able to be fully invisible as their senses and possibly their ability might be able to sense you.

As for the rest of the abilities, you can only access these powers once you learn the basics of Occlumency and Legilimency. Once you've learned the basics, you can only also access the basic abilities and you have to master each one of them to a proficient level to access the more advanced abilities. Plus, this power is only in your bloodline as you can't teach anybody these abilities, though you could be able to teach some of the basic level's abilities, you have to figure out which.

Keep in mind, that you also have to fully master Occlumency and Legilimency to maximize their abilities to their fullest extent. It all depends on you.

SOE: And now for your wish, you can state any wish but it can be too overpowered. No Anime extreme bloodline abilities/powers like Uchiha or Saiyan, No instant anything, and no system. As I forbid those wretched things now as that a long time ago, some reincarnators got too overpowered and even more greedy which nearly destroyed the universe and I had to fix and restore everything. I also killed those wretched reincarnators and destroyed them from any existence. Phew! That was a mouthful, For that I am sorry. In simple terms, No Godhood or immortality, and no reality-bending or extreme physics-breaking powers. Now state your wish that you want!

I had some time to think about this wish, but I already had a wish that I wanted to blurt out. I hope this wish is not rejected.

"For my wish, I want to have the ability of quick learning comprehension. I want to be able to learn at a pace above the level of above average while also being able to retain those skills and knowledge for a very longstanding period without the constant need for practice or training. That is my wish!

SOE: The wish is acceptable and It is granted.

SOE: And it is time to send you to your new home in a new world. Good luck to you, John Miller. I hope your new life will be fruitful!

"Thank You!"

With that, he snapped his fingers and I was transported out of the void. I wonder who I will born into?
