51 Chapter 51

Although this is a short chapter, I hope you guys enjoy. And Quick Question: Is it Flich, Finch or Flinch?

••••••

The twins rushed to the second floor after breakfast the next morning. Fred has mastered the Unlocking Charm after yesterday's training session, and George is almost there.

"I should throw it right there?" Fred inquired.

"Yes, right here," George replied, looking up at his unsure brother. "William Evangeline lobed his Dung Bombs on this very spot. I heard Finch took a long time to clean it up."

"Remember that you're going to help me with whatever punishment I'm given," Fred said as he saw his brother leaving.

He reached into the paper bag and took out a big dung bomb. When Finch passed by, Fred smashed the Dung Bomb onto the floor, leaving a brown mud-like stain. BANG! A rotten and foul stench quickly wafted through the corridor and penetrated the surroundings, making the stench even more prevalent. Finch spun his head toward the loud sound and his face twisted, resulting in his yellow teeth being on display. The corridor was silent. You could hear Finch's teeth grinding together. His tired eyes shone with new vigour as he stared down Fred.

"You filthy blood-traitor, do you know how long it took me to clean up the last Dung Bomb?" Finch screamed. He revealed the veins popping out of his pale hands with his flushed red cheek and clenched fists.

Because Fred couldn't escape the area in time, the ends of his robe had been stained.

"I have caught you red-handed again, Weasley. Follow me, boy. This time, your punishment will be much, much worse." Finch said as he grabbed George and walked towards his office. "I should have convinced that foolish old man to return to the old-fashioned punishment system. I remember Headmaster Dippo let me hang students by their arms above the door to the Great Hall and whipped them silly while others we eating. That discouraged them from repeating the same action twice. As soon as Dumbledore became Headmaster, I was forced to stop. He stopped it because it was too harsh and too 'dark'. The same reason he stopped Ritual Studies, alchemy, and Wizarding Etiquette Lessons. That's the reason these mudbloods have no clue about their status. And because I stopped, trouble-makers like the so-called 'Marauders' popped up. Boy, you didn't hear this from me, but two of their victims disappeared from the face of this planet after we took them to Madam Pomfrey. They should have been expelled, but because they were potential recruits for his 'Order of the Phoenix', they were let off with a slap on the w…"

After Finch caught Fred, George hid around the corner and quietly followed them. He gulped as he patted himself down, making sure he had Lee's final Dung Bomb.

Fred looked back and saw George following behind them. He couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief. Fortunately, his brother was quiet and his own monologue distracted Finch, or else Filch would have caught him.

It didn't take long for Finch to take Fred to his office.

"Don't think about running away. If you run away, you'll be in even bigger trouble, as I would have to involve Professor McGonagall." Finch said with a sullen face.

Fred paid no attention to Finch's nagging and looked around the office, trying to find what his brother had described.

Finch sat down in his armchair and reached for a drawer. He then took a parchment and placed it in front of himself. Finch then reached over to get his quill and dipped into the ink pot before asking, "Name..."

Finch heard the ginger boy not responding, so he raised his head and harshly asked again.

"Your name."

"Fred Weasley," Fred replied with a hint of excitement in his voice. He had found the drawer.

"Are you related to the other red head? What was his name? James, Jack, no, no, no. Greg. Greg Wesley."

Fred gave a brief nod in response.

"It's going to be a pain in the arse to tell you two apart. Anyway, crime... using a banned item on school premises, intentionally damaging school property, and disrespecting a member of staff because why not?" Finch said with a dry chuckle. "Punishment... detention for..."

Before Finch could finish speaking, a Dung Bomb was thrown into the office, and a disgusting smell of rotten eggs instantly filled the office. Filch's eyes shone with a tiny spark of astonishment, as someone had the gall to do that. He dropped the quill and rushed towards the door like a madman possessed.

"I hope George buys me enough time," Fred said as he strode towards the filing cabinet. He took out his wand and pointed at a drawer that read: Confiscated Items. Fred then drew his wand and pointed it at the cabinet and cast "Alohomora ".

He quickly opened the drawer and grabbed the parchment Albert was keen about and something for himself in his pocket. Fred heard Finch's heavy step in the corridor, so he closed the cabinet and returned to his original position.

Finch entered the office, with George following behind. He sat down again and starting writing. "Greg, Ned, or whatever your name is. The truth is I don't care! Your punishment is to clean your brothers' mess up," Finch said as he slammed his quill on the desk and stood up. "As for you, follow me. We're off to see Professor McGonagall."

~~~~~~~~~
A few minutes later, Finch knocked on Professor McGonagall's office and let himself in. He then spoke of the 'great' deeds the Weasley twins had accomplished. The expression on the Gryffindor's Head's face immediately collapsed, and Professor McGonagall's mood became even more sour as he still had not finished reporting yesterday's incident with William. She did not expect two first years to do the same stupid thing as a third year.
