10 Chapter-10: Classes and Castle-3

The Library of the Hogwarts was unlike any library that Ronan had ever seen, it was as huge as his old orphanage, with books that were hundreds of years old. When he stepped into the library he did not know what to expect, so he took a walk around, trying to read the title of the books there. There were three sections dedicated to potions, while Transfiguration alone had 6 sections, and Defence Against the Dark Arts had a considerable 5 sections dedicated to it. And while the other subjects had at most 4 sections dedicated to it.

Mostly senior students were sitting in the library on a Friday afternoon, there were a few Ravenclaws of his year sitting around, but none from his house or Hufflepuff were there. From Gryffindor, there was only one, Hermione Granger. Thinking that this might be his chance to make contact with the good guys, he decided to befriend Hermione. She was the level-headed person from the main cast, so befriending her first made sense.

She was sitting on a bench, looking at the reference book related to Transfiguration. So he sat down opposite her, gathering her attention, he then whispered, "Hello there."

"Hello Ronan," she replied, "What are you doing here?"

He shrugged, "Figured that I should at least take a leisure walk around the great library of Hogwarts. And see what this place has to offer,"

"You came here for a walk?" She had discontent in her voice.

"Well yeah, what are you doing here?" She pointed at the book before her, "I am familiarizing myself with the properties of basic materials, I had heard that it helps in transfiguration in senior years."

"Woah," He was surprised, "You have planned that ahead? Did you complete this year's course?"

Little embarrassed, she replied, "No," Hearing her reply, he asked, "Then what are you doing here trying to read advanced stuff, when you have yet to master your current course."

She looked rather annoyed, "Well at least I am doing some productive, unlike someone who is wasting their time for a walk." she replied getting defensive.

He smiled, he realized what she was going through, because it happened to him as well. When Ronan realized that he had transmigrated and about his gifts, he started absorbing knowledge crazily. He started reading books after books, not having a plan in his mind. It took him some time, and then he realized that it was futile to absorb knowledge of a book, unless one knows how to apply it.

When he was seven years old, he absorbed one advanced economics book. But when he started doing some problems in the worksheet at the back of the book, he realized that he didnt have the command of the basics, and because of this he made many mistakes in the worksheet. Since then he realized the significance of planning.

From what he could see, Hermione was the kind of girl who not only wanted to prove herself but also utilized the library to the fullest. But if she starts reading the advanced stuff like this, without having a command of the basics, she would dig her own grave.

He opened his mouth to say something, when Hermione chimed, "Ronan, I am busy at the moment. Could you leave me alone?" He closed his mouth and backed away. They were not close, and he would not try to force her friendship.

He got up and went his way. After their meeting, he started preparing a detailed plan, on which things to tackle first. He knew that he needed to prepare for his fourth year, because that was the year when Voldemort would rise again, and he was sure of it, because the fourth part of the movie series was his favorite, and he was sure that he hadn't got that wrong.

'Wait a minute, if the fourth part is the one where Voldemort rises again, then the one with the old pink lady, dumbledore's death, and Tommy's death took place after this. Because I remember, tensions were high during the time because the snake bastard had come back from death.'

This was a very crucial piece of information because it gave him a timeline till which he had to prepare himself. One another crucial information was that he knew the soul pieces that the snake bastard had scattered, to make him immortal.

And he remembers the items as well, which hosted the soul pieces, they were the diary, the cup from the vault in Gringotts, tiara looking thing that is in the castle right now, that locket that is located somewhere in Sirius's house, that huge snake and Neville himself.

He distinctly remembers that there were supposed to be seven of these soul pieces, yet he could only remember six, which was also a problem on its own. But he had pushed the matter aside for now. For now, he would just be focusing on getting stronger.

Hogwarts Library hosted books on various subjects of magic, even those that were not taught in class. This made was very hard for him to consolidate a plan because he didnt know what these subjects were related to, and which help in the future. But after talking to some seniors, he was finally able to consolidate a plan. And from Monday onwards, he started executing it.

Madame Irma Pince was the witch who had the position of the librarian of Hogwarts. She was a strict witch who maintained the whole place and was a pain in the ass for him. When he first started coming to the library, she would always keep an eye on him, she always thought that he was doing some mischief, just because he was Slytherin, and he didnt correct her either. Nothing good comes when poking a sadist psychopath.

She was very possessive of all the books that were kept in the library and put of lot of hexes and jinxes on books, which were activated if someone misbehaved with them. He was careful with all the books, but whenever he would put the book back, she would jump on her feet, trying to see whether I had done something to it or not.

Library became the fortress of solitude for Ronan, whenever he would get fed up with all the bigotry of Slytherins, he would come down there and pick up books whose subject interested him and would start reading it. It was a shame that Madame Pince didnt allow books to be taken out of the library, otherwise, he would have completed a lot of his goals sooner.

One another thing Ronan noticed after his second week in Hogwarts was that his knowledge-absorbing ability had increased slightly since he started practicing magic. It was like out of a sudden, his brain's capacity to absorb knowledge had skyrocketed. Seeing this, he theorized that maybe if he used his telekinesis more often, maybe its weight limit would increase as well.

He had started using his telekinesis daily in his room, he didnt want anyone to see his telekinesis powers. Although everyone knew that he had the power, he didnt want anyone to know how powerful was it. Because from the third week onwards, he started seeing a trend. The more he practiced the ability, the more power he was able to exert.

Soon came a time when his brain didnt hurt as much when he had absorbed a lot of knowledge. He realized that these abilities were just like a muscle, the more he practiced with it the more refined it would get, with that he formulated a routine that he followed every day without any failure.

The progress was significant as well, by the time the fourth week rolled around, he had completely absorbed and consolidated two-fifths of this year's course. But his job was not done yet. He previously used to think that just by chanting the name of the spell, one would be able to cast the magic. At least that was the case with the movies, but the reality was very far from it. The pronouncing of the spell helped, but it takes time to get used to the spell. Like the spell that McGonagall taught them that changed a match stick into a needle, he was able to change the match's structure in an hour. After the class, he practiced the spell in the common room, and then it took him about 3 more hours to change the match stick into an intricate needle.

Now it just takes him about 5 seconds to do so. This made him realize, that if he wanted to become an accomplished wizard, not only did he need to gather knowledge, but also practice those spells. That is why he need to find the room where Harry and his friends practiced their spells. It was a very essential part of his plan. Because based on his prowess now, he would have theorized that at maximum, he might need another 2 months and his first-year course would be over. And then all that would be left is practice…

On Thursday morning after one and a half months of being in the Hogwarts, Slytherins came from their room with a big smile and excited expression on their face. On the previous Monday, a notice had been pinned on the board of the common room, that flying lessons were going to start taking place from this week. And today was their first lesson, and everyone was excited about it.

Ronan was excited by the prospect that he would be able to fly in the air. While others were excited and hyped to showcase their extraordinary flying skills to flex. This whole week Malfoy had been going around the Slytherins, telling them the tales of who he narrowly escaped Muggles in a helicopter. The story was bullshit, but based on knowledge of the cannon, Ronan admitted that Malfoy might be a decent flyer after all.

As Blaise and him made their way to the flying grounds, Blaise asked him, "Do you think that Malfoy is a proficient flyer?"

He looked at the boy, "Why do you ask?"

"Well, I wanted to apply for a quidditch team next year. I want to know whether he would be my competition or not."

He thought it for a moment, and then turned to him, "Blaise, do you like Malfoy?" He looked confused, but answered, "We are friends, if that is what you are asking?"

"No I meant, are you really good friends? Because if you are, you might get in on the team. Otherwise, it would be difficult."

He looked confused, "Why do you say that?"

"Think about it. Based on what I have seen so far, Draco will use his status as Malfoy's heir and his father's influence to get into the team. And if you are in his good books, you will surely get on the team as well."

Blaise looked hurt and angry, "So you think I can not make it to the team? I have to grovel in front of that man to get in?"

He chuckled and shook his head, "No no… Going through Malfoy is your sure ticket to the team. If you have talent, you might be able to make it to the team on your own, but Malfoy is your sure ticket."

"Yeah sure," and then sped away. Blaise was angry at him. Ronan on the other hand couldnt help but shake his head, he was only telling the truth and trying to help. He didnt run after him, he knew that the boy was smart enough and understood what he was trying to say in a few days. And then he would approach him and apologize.

After separating from Blaise, when he came to the flying ground, he saw that they were the first ones there. Gryfinddors were not there. So they hurdled together and stood there waiting for the Gryffindors to show up.
