13 Hogwarts

On June 1st we apparated to diagon alley. I was under the full range of concealment charms as I followed Moody to Olivander's.

We walked in Moody with his wand out and eye spinning. Casting privacy and security charms.  "Garrick get out here no funny business. Lad here needs a wand don't muck about."

I didn't trust the creepy old man which says a lot because I trust Mad-Eye. I could hear his breathing and heart beat as he obviously considered still trying to sneak up on us.

"Alright Alistor, what can I do for you." Garrick asks walking out with his hands up like Moody was a robber.

I removed my cloaking charms and reverted back to my natural look. "Guten Tag." I said with a smile at his jump 'Ha gotcha!'

Olivander caught his breath then gasped again when he recognized who I was. "Can it really be Arthur Curry?"

"The one and only. Now Mr Olivander I want you to assure me that you will tell no one of my visit. Nor of my relation to Mr Moody, nor of my wand or core should one here accept me." I say serious as the grave.

Moody says gruffly "Not even Albus, do you understand?"

"Absolutely clear." Garrick says nodding once professionally. "Now, let's get you a wand Mr Curry. Wand hand?"

"Mostly right but I can use both if needs must. Mr Olivander, I know you only use unicorn hair, phoenix feathers and dragon heartstrings correct?"

"Yes thats right." He says turning back to me with an analytical gaze.

"Well sir I have a certain affinity for water. I'm curious if you have anything that might go well with my disposition?" I ask trying to make the process smoother.

He hums. "I'll keep it in mind." Going over to what looks like a random box he pulls out a orange case and takes the wand as if to put it in my hand. "NOPE!" He shouts "A phoenix tail feather definitely not for you." He then grabs a tan box and says "Holly and Unicorn hair." I take the wand and will a cleaning spell through it silently. It felt like pushing my magic through a straw much smaller in diameter then my dads wand. I still managed to clean a whole row of shelves of dust, but I could do more with the same amount of effort with my dads. Handing it back to Olivander he said "Quite right. Not for you either. Let's test dragon before we get to the weird stuff." Dragon felt worse for me than Unicorn hair. Olivander hmmed softly then went to a corner shelf in the back. A moment later he came back with a teal colored box.

"Tail feather of an Augurey, also known as the Irish Phoenix. Which is why I have it in my shop. It was long believed that the mournful cry of the Augurey foretold death, and wizards would go to great lengths to avoid Augurey nests. However, research determined that the Augurey merely sings when it is about to rain." Garrick said excitably. "Cypress, because it has decay and water-resistant properties. I felt it match well with the nature of the Augurey. Let's see Mr Curry, if its right for you."

When he placed the wand in my hand a distinctive low throbbing cry spread through the room. I felt the flood gates release, the dam broke. The shop was cleaned the floor was mopped all with the effort of flipping a light switch. I vanished the dirty water bubble floating in front of me with a flick of my wrist. That felt good, I had no clue magic could be this effortless. I was going with the full operation of a super teir brain in order to do magic. Now I understand how someone as dumb as Ron could possibly operate a wand.

"Thank you Mr Olivander." I said all smiles. "Is the trace already on the wand?" I asked.

"No." Moody states. "Its the boat ride to the castle that puts it. Well we will be off good to see you Garrick."

Moody started getting rid of the wards he had placed. I casually reapplied my concealment charms ecstatic about the ease I could do it with. "I'll text you." I whisper to Moody as he opens the door for me to step out. I quickly scan the crowd and weave silently through them to the apparition point for the alley. With the turning of space I was free falling into the English channel. Willing the water to soften and not splash I dive in and torpedo towards home. I had until the 20th of July so I could be back to get my Hogwarts letter. Moody had gifted me a custom wand holster ahead of my birthday in a very tsundere way. He had said something about not wanting all his hard work lost due to a slow draw.

I arrived back home in about an hour and and it was almost midnight. I figured I had 8 hours to kill and I wanted some ramen so I dropped off my stuff besides some yen and headed to Tokyo bay. I got some ramen and gyoza from the old lady I had met before. We talked for a bit and then I went home stuffed with a goodie bag for my family. I got home put the food in the kitchen and hung out on the porch reading a book about parallel computations for computer programming. Listening to the waves and watching the sunrise was how my Tutu found me. She gave me a big hug and we talked about what I've been up to. She was pretty mad when I told her I found out I'm fully Bulletproof. Something about beating up an old man with one eye and a cane for even testing such a thing on her grandson. I had a relaxing time back home even if I still went to the gunker every day to workout both physically and magically.

My family threw a luau for my going away/birthday party.

Uncle Rock got me a brand new old school gramophone and a ton of albums including Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Rush, Queen, Bob Marley and Marvin Gay to go along with my other albums. I got a ton of new clothes and my second cousin had made me a tongan. It was a beautiful black and brown traditional one-handed war axe with a twine handle. I couldn't wait to enchant the fuck out of it. Look out Thor you're not going to be the only one with a summonable super weapon.

I left late at night. Swimming in the black depths of the ocean was never an issue for me. I had dark vision and could sense things in the water to avoid with my hydrokinesis. My navigation sense let me cruise back to England at a chill pace.

I arrived a bit before noon on the 20th of July. Getting a room at the leaky, I stayed in my white boy disguise. I walked into Gringotts and just used the currency exchange counter. Moody told me that goblins hated wizards and no amount of kind words from those fan-fics I read would change their minds. He said on the off chance that you do have a inheritance sitting away, it's not safe or smart to try to claim it before you've reached the age of maturity. I had given Moody paperwork to set him as my magical guardian to be turned in to the ministry the day before I get on the train. I would not be the ward of Dumbledore if I had any say about it.

I spent a lot of time in flourish and blotts picking ubscure books on dead languages like Sanskrit and Egyptian hieroglyphs. I tried to find some of the titles I remembered from the restricted section in the movies. But they must have been restricted by the ministry as well. I guss they don't want just anybody to be able to make a polyjuice potion. Made me wonder what kind of rare books are in the black library.

I also read magic history books to find out what happened after the war. Peter Pettigrew was ousted by Igor Karkaroff and is in Azkaban. Frank Longbottom, James Potter and Sirius Black are all senior aurors. Frank and Alice did get tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange but because their allies were still alive, help came to them before they lost their minds. Remus Lupin was the first wizard to be cured of lycanthropy by a collaboration between Lily Potter and Damocles Belby. There is still no cure for Muggles who have been bitten. There is no change in the staff at Hogwarts from what I could find from cannon. Somehow Cornelius Fudge is still the minister of magic. There is a lot of animosity against him from what I can hear people talking about inside the Leaky.

Malfoy and a few others did not go to Azkaban due to claiming the imperius curse was used against them. But I had no plans to let them live past the second year of Hogwarts after I get a hold of ickle little Tommy's diary. Once I have that I can Catch Em All and send moldy to Lady Death.

On the 24th of July I got my Hogwarts acceptance letter. Sending the reply out through Tom's owl. I quickly knocked out all of the obligatory shopping. I got a trunk that was standard, apparently Newts case was some form of family magic. Anything bigger than the standard size had to be registered with the ministry so I'll have to wait until I've done enough research on spatial magic. Honestly though it was plenty of room considering I could shrink things and then put them in the case. I moved everything from my giant duffle bag into the trunk.

For the rest of the break until the day I needed to get on the train I researched enchantments I should put on my tongan. I refrained from putting any enchantments on yet because I wanted to search the Hogwarts Library first. Enchanting was like building a house. You had to start with the foundation and build everything off of that. I don't just want a house though I want a skyscraping Palace.

On September 1st at 10 a.m. I walked through the portal to Platform 9 and 3/4 carrying my trunk in my left hand. I was under every concealment charm I knew. I walked on to the train and felt myself get scanned for a ticket. I quickly made my way to an empty compartment and tossed my case on the overhead rack. Moving close to the window I whipped out my wand. I charmed the window to only be able to see from my side. On the door I casted an intent spell that would make someone looking for 'me' ignore the door. It was not overpowered nor would it stop someone with decent occlumency. Though I shouldn't have any issues with punk kids trying to network because daddy said so. Then I removed my concealment and sat.

Looking out the window I watched the kids I would be going to school with say goodbye to their families. It was cute, some were excited some sad but most were nervous. I used telekinesis to grab a book out of my trunk. As the little nerd that I am I started to read my book on astrophysics. Eventually I got the first knock on my door.

A bushy haired Emma Watson opened the door. "Mind if we share?"

"Sure. Come on in." When she came in I T.K.d her trunk on to the rack.

She took a moment to really look at me until her eyes went wide. "I know you. You're Arthur Curry." She said smugly. I can see her face going 'Oh yeah praise me for I'm the smartest around.'

"Pleasure, and you are?" I say calmly not giving her any suprise reaction.

"Hermione Granger, I know all about you, of course — I got a few extra books for background reading, and you're in Modern Magical History and The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century." She rattled off with no concern for my expression.

'Just like she knew who Harry was.' "Is it possible that you are thinking of someone else? How would you recognize the 'Arthur Curry'?"

I was just messing with her but it was funny to see her get embarrassed. I was wearing a hoodie dark jeans black boots and black frame sunglasses. My hair was cropped short reminiscent of my time in the military with a medium skin fade.

"My names Ryan." I say extending my hand for a shake.

She was tomato red and yelped "I'm so sorry I just thought you looked a like he should from the description. I just realized I can't even see if you have his ocean blue eyes."

Just then the door opened again and I saw the Patil twins come in. Parvati and Padma stepped in and asked "May we join you?"

"Svaagat he, andar aaen." I say in Hindi. "Sorry but my Hindi needs alot of work." Hitting the whole group with my perfect smile.

I T.K.d there bags up without a gesture and when they looked surprised Hermione said "Mine did the same I guess they all do."

They both shrugged and Parvati introduced them both. "I'm Parvati this is my sister Padma nice to meet you and your Hindi wasn't bad." She smiled and sat next to Hermione across from me.

Hermione decided to introduce both of us. "This is Ryan and I'm Hermione nice to meet you as well. Ryan what did you say to them in Hindi?"

"Just welcome come in. I heard it all the time in Mumbai when I visited." I replied. Deciding to keep the conversation going I added "I have a thing for languages."

Padma asks "Are you fluent in other languages?"

"Fluent? Yeah in English, Māori, Samoan, Rapa Nui, Hawaiian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and I also know American sign language." I prattle off counting to 11 on my fingers for effect.

The girls look stunned. "I'm a bit of a language nerd on top of other nerd things hehe." I joke.

We talk for a bit and I explain that my family speaks five languages at home, plus tutoring and travel makes 11. I tell them im trying to learn more languages and ask for the twins help with Hindi if they don't mind.

While we were talking Padma the future Ravenclaw that she is asked me about the book in my lap. "Its a muggle science book. Quite high level as well." Hermione answers before me.

"Are you muggle born as well Hermione?" Parvati asks.

"Yes! Were you raised in the Wizarding world?" She asks.

"Yes." Padma answers "I have never read about muggle subjects."

'Lets help these pure bloods a bit.' I think discretely pulling my wand I raise it up and point it at my trunk. I summon a book titled 'Asimov's Chronology of Science and Discovery' "This book came out in 1989 and is a compendium of ALL human discovery since the beginning of human society. Well at least according to no-majs. [Geminio]." Passing the copies out to my fellow cabin mates I continue. "Here is a copy of the book it will only last about a month if you wish to read it. It is an excellent introduction to science and technology."

"That was the doubling charm!" Padma said excitedly "Its a fifth year or above charm. Wow I thought you were a muggle-born how did you learn that."

"My dad was a wizard and I grew up with his books. This was always such a helpful spell so I worked at it quite alot." I said not minding people knowing I'm well above average.

The train took off and we were on our way. We talked a lot about their expectations at school. People would walk by outside but only the trolly lady interrupted us. As it got dark I finally removed my glasses. When Hermione looked at me funny I just said "I never said I wasn't." Then reintroduced my self to the girls excitement. "Full name Arthur Ryan Curry, glad to see you all weren't just friendly to me because of my reputation."

They forgave me quickly when I explained I didn't want my first friends in the Wizarding World to only like me for my fame. They were already in uniform so I had them step out so I could change. Wearing plain black robes with a white button up shirt, black slacks, black socks, black shoes and a black tie with the Hogwarts emblem. I hit myself with my go to five grooming charms. 1. Clean and deodorize body. 2. Shine shoes. 3. Clean and press clothes. 4. Clean mouth (mint flavor). 5. Clean then style hair. I then opened the door for them to come back in.

"Wow you clean up!" Parvati said letting her socialite Gryffindor side come out. She was the only one not embarrassed to realize she had been hanging out with a very handsome boy her age.

"You all look nice too." I say with a smile. "I can't wait to find out what color my tie and robes will be." After saying that we felt the train begin to slow down signaling that we were near Hogsmeade station. 'Well im glad I put away my books when I changed.'

We met Hagrid on the platform and followed like little duckies down to the lake front. I stood off to the side for a moment and used both wrists like Spider-Man I discreetly launched my wands into the shallow water at the beginning of the lake. I used hydrokinesis to then ferry my wands in a bubble of air that I froze the shell of and stuck it to the opposite shore from the entrance to the school nearer to the greenhouses. Breathing a sigh of relief knowing there won't be a trace on my wands. I followed my group and sat on a boat with them. We cruised quietly across the lake and gazed upon the Majestic Castle on the hill in the shining moonlight. I used my marine telepathy to listen to the lake and was almost shocked out of my seat. I heard so many clear strong diverse voices in my head. The lake was home to hundreds of sentient magical sea creatures, merpeople, grindylows, and the giant squid. Shutting down my telepathic sense we were approaching the entrance to the castle.

As Hagrid yelled "Heads down." unnecessarily, I felt a ward search me for a wand. Finding nothing I passed through unobstructed. I figured that the route that our trunks come through has a similar process on the first years. That's why I did not simply leave my wands in my trunk.

Hopping out of the boat when it was time I made sure to help my new friends. We approached a staircase that professor McGonagall was standing at the top of with a stern look. She gave her a rousing speech about house unity and the old Olive Garden slogan 'when you're here you're family'. After that nonsense about the house cup, the professor walked back out and the ghosts appeared. I stayed between the Patil twins with Hermione in front of me so I blended well. Draco Malfoy walked a few steps up and turned back to the group of kids scanning the crowd. "Looking for love Malfoy?" I heard that twat Ron Weasley snicker. That devolved into an argument that was soon stopped by Professor McGonagall showing back up and leading us into the Great Hall.

Hermione said her line and Padma said "Oh I read that too!"

The gaggle of us 41 ducklings stopped after passing between the rows of upperclassmen. I stood on the right hand side looking at all the professors eyeing us I was happy to note they looked like their movie counterparts. There were many teachers that were never talked about in the movies but were present at feasts. Dumbledore stood and gave his speech about the dark forest being forbidden, and the 3rd floor corridor that leads to horrific death.

Right after professor McGonagall gave the instructions for the sorting. Alphabetically she read down the list. I couldn't tell if I was happy or nervous for the fact that there were no hat stalls before me. This was a moment of truth would the Hat read my mind or would it do some other form of magic to decide my house for the next seven years. How would it react to knowing this world was once fiction.

"Arthur Curry." McGonagall said and I started my approach.

Walking up the stairs I couldn't help but think 'What if the hat just screams 'SeaWorld!''

Looking back I could see and hear almost all the students turning and talking to their neighbors whispering about me. I moved and sat on the stool.

McGonagall began to place the hat on my head when suddenly it shouted "Hufflepuff!". I was so confused I hesitated to stand up. 'That couldn't have been it. Where is my reincarnation hat stall trope? That was decided faster than Malfoy.' McGonagall gave me a nudge for me to get off the seat and I walked bewildered to my table to deafening cheers from the Hufflepuff table. 'I guess I'm a badger, you know what honey badger doesn't give a fuck.'

I sat with my house and cheered when ever a puff was added. The ending was the same as cannon.
