34 Chapter 34 : Forest Of Death 2

Orion had nothing but his senses to track the magical signature he was feeling, he also had to make sure that he didn't reveal his presence while roaming around the forest, Salvio Hexia is a spell which will conceal the user from others, meaning while he can't see the person who cast the spell, the same is not the case with the caster.

"It's here, don't go any further," Merlin said and Orion too agreed, also sensing that the concealing charm was almost right in front of him.

He looked around, a little creeped out by the eerie forest and nasty voices he was hearing, At least darkness was never a problem for him thanks to the vampire he absorbed, in fact, thanks to the vampire his smelling power also increased, although he can't spell what was inside the charm but he could spell the outside and he was sure that he knew this smell.

'I can't see shit from here, either I have to break the charm which will make me the immediate target or I have to find a way to see through the charm' Orion said inside his mind, talking with Merlin.

"There does exist a kind of magic which can do that but it is hard to learn, even you will need more than just a night to learn it. For the time being though, don't focus on that, focus more on sensing, with sensing alone you can figure out a lot," Merlin advised and Orion slightly nodded in confirmation.

He then closes his eyes after properly hiding his presence and focuses entirely on his senses. It was hard, the charm was even blocking magic leakage from inside of the invisible magic dome, but Orion was able to get a little bit of feeling about what kind of magic was inside and he didn't like it a bit.

"Death," Merlin narrowed his eyes.

'I know this feeling, I've seen this magic before, it's the killing curse.' Orion thought, he was unsure whether he would be able to sense it or not but he did it fairly quickly, surely having something to do with his extraordinary magic sense and the strong dark magic being used inside the charm.

Back then when fighting the vampire, he almost got hit by the killing curse, he still got goosebumps after remembering that particular incident.

It took a while but Orion with the help of Merlin was able to determine that there was only one person inside the protective charm, the magical power they sensed was similar to a 6th or maybe even 7th year student, he was also worried about the two girls he left behind and had to go to them. 

After deciding that he would not get much from here, he was about to turn back but then the charm fell and a boy came out, or to be more precise, became visible.

'Normal Slavio Hexia can't hide the caster if the caster uses magic inside the charm's range, but this shield held up even after this person was using killing curses, Orion without a doubt was very cautious now.

Slowly the moonlight illuminated the place, it was not enough for humans but his eyes were able to recognize the face of the person in front of him, Orion's who was hiding behind a tree, slightly retreated and his pupils constricted.

"NICK IRON, why I am not surprised," Merlin said with a little disdain in his voice. Orion didn't notice it though and was more focused on the wand Nick was holding.

'This magical signature,' Orion was suspicious of something but couldn't tell whether his suspicions were on point, Merlin who knew what he was thinking just said, "Yes you are not mistaken, its the same kind of magic you felt near a deathly Hallow, that wand is a item from the mistress of death herself."

Orion took a deep breath, calming himself down, the aura Nick was emitting was fierce. 

'You mean to say that, that is the elder wand ?' Orion asked in confusion, but to this Merlin didn't directly reply, as he too was confused himself.

"Yes, it is an Elder wand but the strange thing is that Dumbledore is in possession of the Elder wand. I have noticed, they even looked similar," Merlin replied with confusion clearly apparent on his face.

'There are two elder wands?' Orion thoughts immediately question the knowledge he has about the Harry Potter World.

He soon saw Nick leaving, relieved that he had not found out. 'I seriously need to get stronger, I am sure that things are not simple with that guy,' Orion said, not waiting for the nod which Merlin sent towards him, and ran towards the girls he left behind in the forest alone, the Illusion should end pretty soon and he should go to them.

While running Orion suddenly caught a shadow, and his movement immediately halted. Thanking that the shadow didn't notice himself, he discreetly went on. But before he could even find the girls, he encountered the very thing they were here to look for.

A dying Unicorn in all its glory. Knowing that the shadow, most likely Voldy, went in the opposite direction to where the girls were, Orion took the chance to approach the dying unicorn.

'This is sure a beautiful creature,' Orion couldn't help but admire. The moonlight was falling beautifully on the body of the magical creature. Silver blood was also there, as Orion remembered that in the movies, Unicorn's blood was shown as silver.

He slowly stretches his hands to touch the dying animal and feel him dying. He could practically feel the magic draining from him and life slipping out.

"Absorb his power," Merlin said from the side.

"What, but he is already dying. If I do that then there is no way that we can save him." Orion hurriedly said.

"There is already no way to save him and leaving him here alone will be more cruel. You can end it without much pain for him." Merlin advice.

"Are you sure that there is no way to save him," Orion asked with reluctance. Although he wanted to get stronger but not at the expense of pure creatures like a Unicorn.

"There are ways, in fact, there are many. But the way you are right now you can't do anything. Only when you have stronger magic is when you can really save someone," Merlin laid the hard facts in front of Orion making him frown.

Orion looked back at the dying animal and said, "Are you okay with that, Sorry I can't save you but I can give you a painless death," Orion said while slowly caressing the fur of the dying animal.

Unicorn was pretty smart, and he just let his head fall to the ground, not even resisting much to Orion's touches anymore. 

This time though, Orion didn't need Merlin's help but figured out that the Unicorn agreed. And thus he slowly started.

For the first time, pure and untainted power rushed inside him, making him groan a little with delight. It was like he was a dragon born absorbing the soul of a dragon, or at least the display of magic was similar to that.
