19 Chapter 19 : Food And Assignment

After Professor Hooch took Neville. Only then did Orion return to his flying test.

He slowly pushes his legs, making him float slightly. But the problem was immediately apparent to him.

The brooms are made in a way that they can make a witch or wizard fly without much magical power.

But that is not true. In reality, these brooms do take magic from the riders. But only a miniscule amount.

"Considering your current magical power. You might be able to fly but not for long. And it might completely exhaust you," Merlin added after watching the brooms for a long time.

'I am not that interested in brooms anyway. I personally believe that they are a little dum. There could be so many other ways to fly and wizards had to use brooms of all things,' Orion replied.

But this made Merlin give him a strange look.

'What ?' Orion couldn't help but ask the Gandalf rip-off.

"In any other case, it wouldn't have mattered but considering that you are learning about Runes. I believe you should be interested in why the wizards are using a broom out of all the things to fly.

In fact, I believe that I have found the very first assignment for you. I want you to study a broom and understand how it works. Not only that, use the knowledge you have about the runes and improve it.

You have until Christmas. When School reopen later, I will be asking about this assignment to you," Merlin said with a knowing smile.

Orion groan a little at this, 'More Homework,' was his only response.

But he too now was intrigued. There must be a reason why Merlin asked this from him.

He might want to acquire a broom of his own to start testing. Maybe, he can look at some broken ones. 

Studying the broom is not a problem for him, in fact, he had half the mind to get into wand lore himself. Bearing in mind that he will need to make a wand for himself in future.

But it's not half bad to start with brooms.

The real trouble comes from improving a broom. And he knew what exactly improving means.

Merlin wanted him to improve a broom or outright make a new one which even he who has magical power corresponding to a 5-year-old, can use.

And while he is at it. He might even test out making some more cool gadgets. Why not?

While he was thinking and musing to himself. He saw Malfoy getting Neville's Remembrance and Rose, just like Harry in the cannon, chased after him.

"Some things are just unavoidable I guess," Orion couldn't help but smile after seeing a familiar scene.

He couldn't help but show envy towards Rose. She had this innate powerful magic from the start.

However, he shouldn't envy her, considering this cost her everything else in her life and also will lose much later in life.

Besides Orion too has his own cheat and it's just about time before he surpasses everyone. 

He literally has the power to take away magic from everyone. In theory, he can become the only person on earth with Magic. 

The absolute ruler and god. But he never planned to do that.

Back to Rose though, he was a little curious whether the innate power she had was really something she got from Voldemort or she was born with it. Soon Rose catches Neville's remembrance and everyone starts cheering for her.

And just like in the books and movies. Professor McGonagall just happens to be looking outside of her office when Rose did all her mid-air stunts.

Aka, a direct entry to the team and a position to being the youngest seeker.

Orion after the entire day's toil, finally remembers that he promised his friends that he would make up to them for not being able to play with them.

So before the dinner time, he makes his way towards the kitchen.

There are hardly any witches or wizards who come to the kitchen of Hogwarts.

The entire operation is handled by the house elves.

When he came, he was a little stunned to see almost a dozen house elves cooking the meal for later that night.

When he saw Orion, they almost looked elated.

Welcoming him like he is royalty.

"Okay, I was not expecting that," Orion mutters to himself.

'Then what were you expecting? House elves treat their master like kings and gods. There is nothing to be amazed about in it,' Merlin stated quite the matter of factly.

"Well, I guess, that is the case." Orion thought to himself.

"Hey, provide me with some ingredients and a stove. I will be making around 10 people's worth of food," Orion said with a grim.

Orion told the house elves to replicate the recipe of the Ramen noodles he made and serve anyone who asked for it in the dining hall.

And for his friends, well they will get it even if they don't want to.

He is quite confident in his cooking skills. Being an orphan teaches you a lot and cooking skills are a very important skill to have for anyone, let alone an orphan.

"What is this," Rose asked Orion.

"It's called Ramen Noodles. I made them specially for you all. Try them," Orion sends thumps up towards his other friends to go these noodles.

-10 minutes later-

"This is brilliant," Rose said with her mouth still chewing on the noodles.

Hermione already knew what noodles were but this was the first time she was eating them and she loved them.

And so was the case with the Weasley Brothers.

In fact, their reaction led other students to also ask for the noddles. And when a large number of students eat the noodles. The noise finally reaches the teachers.

"What is this all noise about," Snape sneered and asked.

"Oh Severus, you should try this dish which Mr Ambrosius made. You gonna love it," Flitwick couldn't help but beam and talk show the noodles he was eating.

Snape explored his surroundings and saw even Dumbledore eating the noodles with chow.

Only a few professors actually tried the dish but they love it.

Snape when hearing Oiron's name, remembered that Orion was acting like he was cooking back when he was making potions and frowned.

Although his potions were excellent yet acting like a muggle cook for a potion maker is demeaning.

But when he actually tasted the noodles he realized why Orion might be acting like that.

The kid had talent in cooking, no matter whether it was potions or muggle food.

Even other professors praised Oiron silently when they tried the noodles.
