17 Chapter 17 : Title At The End

Orion knew that he would be facing this situation but it was still annoying.

"What!! can't say anything, can you now mud blood," Draco said while his two lackeys, whose name he still doesn't know, held him down.

It started after he left the potion's class.

It took him longer than expected to make the mind-nourishing potion.

Long enough that he had to convince Rose to go ahead of time and he will catch up.

He made more just in case Snape asked for it. Which was the case.

Apparently, Snape looked a little stunned when he got the potion in hand.

Strangely enough, he gave Orion another book about potions.

Orion just chucked that into Snape being impressed with him.

When he asked about the potion itself, Orion described how this potion was supposed to relieve mental fatigue. 

So, after giving Snape a little bit of Mind Nourishment potion, for testing purposes of course. 

He finally rushed outside to meet his friends. And that is when he found these idiots.

It started with a simple insult, which Orion didn't even bother to acknowledge. 

Then Draco like previously, pulled his wand on Orion.

But just like before, Orion snatched the wand from him. And from there on this went downhill for him.

This time around they were not as scared and stood their ground. They want to see whether Orion attacks them or not.

There is no way for Orion to attack them. And before he can try to think about a way out, a stunner comes towards him to knock him back.

"Shit," Orion mutter to himself.

This followed a leg-locking charm and then both the supporting characters pounded on him.

"What, I asked you something. What happened," Draco said while putting his wand on Orion's neck.

'These brats are getting on my nerves now,' Orion said.

"Yes, I too don't understand how come the wizarding world came to this. There used to be a time when magic was considered as a gift, a power to save others and bring prosperity...," 

Merlin was about to continue when he noticed Draco holding Orion by his neck.

Orion never loses his eye contact. He was searching, or trying to search for anything useful which he could use against Draco in his mind, But then he noticed that he couldn't enter into his mind. Like something was stopping him.

"His ring, it's an heir's ring which is blocking your Legiliment attack," Merlin said.

"How do I break it," Orion asked straight in point.

"You can't, it needs much more power than you have right now," Merlin said.

"God dammit," Orion mutters under his breath.

He still had one way to handle this situation but...

"Forget it, Internal Integration will burn away the small amount of Magic you have right now. Then you can say bye-bye to being the Wizard King," Merlin reminded him.

"I know that old man, tell me how to handle these guys," Orion asked with a little agitation as a Diffindo hit him, cutting his cheek slightly.

"Well in this case you can just take the beating like a man," Merlin said, while leaning on his staff.

"Yeah that was very helpful thanks....," Orion cursed.

"Orion, what happened to you," Rose and Hermione asked at the same time.

Orion was pretty bang up. Cut and bruises. But all of them were magical attacks rather than physical attacks.

"Nothing just met a wild dog," Orion said in sarcasm.

"What you met that dog too," Ron asked.

Orion at this got a little confused but with a slight mind reading he learned what Ron was thinking.

"I am talking about Malfoy, what are you talking about," Orion asked knowing that it was about Hagrid's three-headed dog, Fluffy.

This leads Orion to tell his entire encounter with Malfoy while Ron tells what he and both Hermione and Rose saw in the restricted section.

This also raised anger towards the Slytherin trio from the golden trio.

"Don't worry guys, he started this with me. It's only natural that I will be the one to end it. Stay out of it, it's my fight." Orion said with a tone of finality.

This makes all three of them nod but with some hesitancy.

"So, why did you want to meet me here ?" Orion asked.

"Oh nothing, we wanted to invite you to play with us," Rose said.

"Don't add me among you. I wanted to invite Orion to the Library," Hermione said.

"Oh, so nice of you but I have to deny both of you, I have something important to do, so maybe another time," Orion replied.

"Oh okay," Ron and Rose immediately dejected while Hermione just huffed and walked to the Library.

"Don't worry, I will make this up to you guys. I know just the thing," Orion said and went away.

Later he spent all the time working on Runes and trying to form a usable rune circuit.

Later that night, Orion found himself in front of the room of Requirements again.

He made sure that there was no one following him and that there were no in-lying traps and spells here after Nick visited the place.

"Alright Merlin hit me," Orion said.

" Oh I would love to but I can't touch anything," Merlin replied nonchalantly.

"I mean tell me a solution to my powerlessness," Orion replied annoyingly.

"Train, keep practising and eat your veggies," Merlin added with a smile.

Orion's eyes twitch at this.

"Anything more useful," He asked.

"...Don't miss leg days," Merlin thought and said.

"Ah quit it already. Give me something. You saw what happened to me earlier. What if that Diffindo was cast at my neck? I was done for," Orion almost shouted.

"Malfoy won't do that, you know that. He is a coward," Merlin said trying to calm Orion.

"Yeah but what if it was someone else? What if it was Voldemort or that guy Nick? I am even not sure who he is besides that he looks a little like Harry Potter from the movies," Orion said.

This made Merlin think but in the end, he still shrugged his shoulders.

"Sorry son, you are asking the wrong person. If it was a magic-related issue then I could have helped you. But right now your magic is so weak that I don't have any solution for you," Merlin said honestly.

Orion too at this visibly deflated.

Orion up to this point has only learned three spells, the mind arts and runes. Even after knocking his brain many times, he couldn't find a way to defend himself with just this.

But then he suddenly thought of something.

'Runes huh' Orion mutters to himself internally.

And at the same time Merlin too looked at him with a grim.

"I know what you can do. Now it will take some training but it can save your life," Merlin said.

Orion who just got an idea thought about it. 

"Well, depending on which one is faster to implement, I better apply that while keeping the other one as a reserve," Orion muttered to himself.

"At least you won't be beaten like this next time," Merlin said.

A/N : If you are thinking that Mc is weak then yes but the story is about how he gonna get stronger right. Even when he don't out right have excessive magic, he can use his head. This is only true for first year by the way so don't worry. By third and fourth years, he will be the very very very strongest.
