165 Chapter 165 : Transfiguration Class 2

Finally after deciding that he gonna go in and learn more about Transfiguration. Orion's lazy attitude changed, and a slight sharpness came to his eyes. Looking around when noticed that besides Hermione and Nick, no one pulled this spell off. He focuses back on the cup in front of him.

'Well let's go old school here, less magic and maximum intent,' Orion mutters and closes his eyes, thinking of what he wants to turn the cup into. After imagining a beautiful peacock he wave his hand. 

After the jump in his magical power, he was reluctant to use any kind of new magic which he hadn't used before. Last time and miscalculated the amount of magical power and intent he had to put in a spell, Let's just say it wasn't pretty. 

So he reduced and magical power and got laser focus on intent, just like in the old days. And vola...

With just a wave of his hand, the cup in his hand turns into a beautiful peacock. It also immediately spread its tail, making it look even more beautiful, attracting others' attention towards the beautiful bird.

Everyone was attracted to Orion's performance but there was a gasp he heard coming from somewhere behind him. This was none other than Professor McGonagall. Orion only did his magic when she wasn't expecting.

[Idiot] Merlin said shaking his head. 

'Huh? What happened?' Orion was confused.

[You'll know soon enough] Merlin rolled his eyes and said.

"Mr Ambrosius, how did you do that ?" McGonagall asked with a stunned face on his face. There was a surprise on her face, seeing Orion's mind start to work a thousand miles a second, trying to understand what he did wrong here. What was it?

"I did what you told us to do. Turn the cup into a bird." Orion robotically said, not understanding what was going on. 

"Huh no no no, although the animated transfiguration is very well done, to the point I can say that only a few Transfiguration masters do anything better than this. But I am not talking about that," McGonagall said.

'? so is she asking about the wandless magic? That shouldn't be the case, I have used too much wandless magic in front of others for them to react like that.

"Are you talking about wandless magic ?" Orion question. 

"Well, that is very impressive too but no, what I am surprised about is the transfiguration itself. You increase the mass of the object you transfigurated. The cup was much smaller than this peacock. Transfiguration has some solid rules like we can't transfigurate a small object into something bigger. Only the same size or smaller. This is someone I teach in the very first year." McGonagall explain. 

"Oh," Orion almost wanted to kick himself at this time, he was planning to stay low here. But why did this happen? He was trying to hold back his magical power as much as possible.

[Allow me to explain, although magical power itself is very important Intent is also a thing. You know that the object you turn won't stay like that forever right? After the magic runs out it is most likely going to turn into a cup again. Usually, normal people can't do what you just did becuase their magic will almost all the time trump their intent. They try to solve a problem which needs an intent to defy logic by putting more magic into it. Here though your magic will run out faster as its goes against the most natural way a power will convert, bigger to smaller but thanks to your intent you were able to do something which others can't.

Magic can only bring changes to the world, giving a way to that magic is where intent comes from. The only way to do that is to have powerful intent. Very few people used to have that even in the past, let alone in present times] Merlin calmly explains and this made Orion stunned. 

He knew that only after having powerful intent could he truly use 100% power of their magic but he never knew that intent could also break some of the magical rules. But now that he thinks about it, he realizes that all the rules are created by people who don't have strong intent. So it's understandable. This also made him interested.

If there is some rule which can be broken just because he had something which others didn't, what else is there are which he can change? Maybe transmutation too is possible. Maybe Permanent transformation. he was getting interested in this now.

But right now was not the time to think about it, he had to first handle the professor looking at him like he was a lab rat. 

"Oh that," Orion acted like he found what he did was something unknown to him as well.

"I have no idea, I just wanted to change the cup into a peacock so put the magic and intent into work and boom. Not sure what exactly different I did here ?" Orion shrugged his shoulders. Not willing to spill the beans right now if possible.

The importance of intent and how to cultivate intent is not something he wanted to tell others. It's almost like teaching others how to practice Conqueror's Haki. 

(Yes I know that there is no practice method for that, that's why I added it, don't comment down that I don't know one piece, I did some research before writing)

McGonagall though didn't look like she believed Orion, there was a suspicious look on her face. 

"Can you do it again," She asked. This time she intended to look at the entire thing from beginning to end. 

"Hmm okay," Orion muttered and snapped his finger, with a little irritation in his movements but there was still a smile on his face. Not showing his real emotions. The Snap immediately turned back the peacock into a cup. 

This made even McGonagall raise her eyebrows in amazement. Such control over one magic is unheard of. Let alone seeing someone doing something like this, she has never even heard something like this happening in the stories in the past. 

She mentally noted that today later on after doing her duties she will read Orion's book. She didn't have time to do that but knowing that the book is much about wandless magic and its control. She was excited. 

After all, she too is a professional when it comes to Transfiguration and maybe only second to Albus Dumbledore himself in the entire magical Britain, but ...

She too can't do transfiguration like Orion just did. Even she has to agree that looks very cool. Transforming something with just a snap of her finger. In all her life, there wasn't anything she wanted to do more than maybe only besides tasting cat food...

"..."

Gritting her teeth, she pushes down the creeping blush. Unlike a teenager, she was much more experienced when it comes to handling her emotions. But that gritting of teeth puts Orion on the defensive. 

'What did I do now ?'. Orion was confused, he had two thoughts about launching his Legilimency and poking inside to see what was going on inside her head. 

He was about to ask her but before that, he spoke up.

"Do it," 

"huh hmm okay," Orion muttered and just did what he had to. 

He already knew the formula. The intent has to be more than magic. So with that in mind, he once again waved his hand and the cup in front of him turned into a peacock. This time he thought of doing something else and made the bird orange. Just for fun. 

McGonagall didn't even bat two looks at the peacock colour and only looked at Orion in a daze. Now determine to know how Orion did it. 

For her, this was like Orion defying the laws of physics itself. She saw a possibility to break through here. To develop an all-new way for Transfiguration.

This can change the world. But once again realised who she was talking about right now. 

'This boy has done nothing but turn the world upside down since he come here'
