164 Chapter 164 : Transfiguration Class 1

Thanks to Orion's Law Of Presence, Malfoy didn't do anything. Aka Orion Haki worked.

With both of the girls, he moved on to the next class but his mind was still on Malfoy. Pondering why that guy keeps coming back, just to embarrass himself. 

For some reason this time he felt that there was more to his action than just his recklessness. After all no matter how big of an idiot he is. After all this time he should know that he is no match to Orion. So why suddenly go to him and mock him, try to get a rise out of him?

Thinking about it, Orion mind went to Nick. There is always a possibility that someone told him to do all that. 

Is Nick playing his behind-the-scenes games again? He slowly narrowed his eyes, getting slightly serious. Should he act? 

Well, it's not like he directly has targeted him so maybe he shouldn't act so offensive. But one thing was clear to him he had to look out for any kind of scheme he pulled up. 

Sighing, he entered the next class with both Rose and Daphne. 

Once again The professor was present there. This was none other than Professor McGonagall.

Upon seeing Orion coming, McGonagall smiled. 

"Morning Mr Ambrosius. It's good to see you here again," McGonagall said with a genuine smile on her face. Orion too smiles after hearing this. 

Only now did he realise why everyone was greeting him so much. He left Hogwarts much before than other last year. They hadn't seen him for a long time. It's natural to give him more attention. Not to mention there was also that Auction regarding his Squib Potion. 

He never even checked out the newspapers. He should do that. There must be much information on how his potion works. Making a mental note, he greeted McGonagall too and sat down beside Rose and Daphne. 

Nick and Hermione Long came to the class later on Malfoy also joined in, he was glaring at Orion. Orion though didn't care, acting like nothing happened. 

Class started, and Orion was half expecting that McGonagall would pull onto the stage and ask him to read his own book. Last year that happened, and that was pretty embarrassing. That is all because of this funky language. But now he doesn't think that that will be an issue at all. 

But nothing like that happened, the class started just like any normal class.

"Morning Students, I hope all of your vacation has been great." McGonagall smiled and asked. 

Later she went on to explain what they all will be learning this year. Again nothing interesting according to Orion's standards.

[What is your standard now to consider something interesting anyway ?] Merlin who was casually reading Orion's mind asked.

Over the years, Orion gains enough control over his thoughts to hide anything he doesn't want to let Merlin know, selectively guarding certain memories while also letting normal casual thoughts be unguarded. 

This saves him a lot of work as he doesn't actively have to secure all of his memories and burn his mental power. 

'Don't know. Mostly replicating some awesome superpowers from anime or movies. I still want a Susanoo if possible,' Orion casually said after hearing this Merlin just rolled his eyes.

He was still working hard to find a way to imitate wood style or Susanoo with the help of magic. But no luck there. 

"Okay, then let's start with the very first lesson of the year. Today we are gonna learn about animated transfiguration. 

The spell will be the same but it depends on the understanding of once magical control and intent which makes the difference," McGonagall said and after taking out her wand, she pointed at a cup on her desk. With a single spell, she turns it into a small bird. 

"This is exactly the opposite of what we learned last year, isn't it !" Rose asked. 

"Huh hmm,"

Orion remembers last year she turned a bird into a cup, and now it's a cup into a bird this year. Does she not have other things besides cups and birds in her mind? Maybe because she is a cat girl. 

Cats eat birds, cats can also drink from cups. 

[What kind of logic is that ?] 

'Ah nothing,' Orion replied with a little bashful look on his face.

Soon all the students were trying to perform the spell, an animated transfiguration. 

'Hmm this one,' Orion pondered. Though he now has complete mastery over space and even he is quite good when it comes to Transfiguration. He himself has never turned an inanimated object into an animated object. 

He was wondering what is the trick. He wasn't trying like other students for two reasons. One he didn't want to stand off, he rather try the magic when McGonagall was not looking. As he will be doing it wandless it's better that way.

Another reason is that one of the major laws which he wants to learn after this is somehow connected with Transfiguration. After all, transfiguration is low ball Matter Manipulation. Though it's not permanent and highly lacking in power but its the basic he needs to get down before starting with the Law Of Matter. 

[Have you decided that you want to do this? This might not work for you] Merlin said.

Orion pursed his lips, this was an issue with his plan. Learning all three major types of law is hard, almost close to impossible according to Merlin.

So he has to choose, whether to give up on learning all three major laws and take time by learning something else. Or take a shot in the blind and go for it. 

[You don't have to decide this fast, I advise that you start learning Transfiguration first. See whether you have an attribute for this magical art or not. Before you start working on the Law of Matter, start working on Transfiguration first. This way you will have enough time and also will go closer to learning the Law of Matter.] Merlin said and Orion nodded, he was thinking in the same line.

This way he won't waste time and will have enough time to decide whether he wants to learn the Law of Matter. If yes then he already will have a very good foundation to start with. If not then too he will have a skill which under his belt that will be useful for him. 

As for the the Law of Time. Well forget it, there is no harder power to master out there than time.

Once needed the aptitude to do that, Orion aptitude for time is not that good, he was best with Space. Even mastering it matter will be very hard. He rather stick with something which he has some chance to pull off, he will give a try at almost impossible later on when he has the luxury.

Internally nodding to himself, he asked. 

"Tell me everything you know about Transfiguration," Orion mutters slowly. 

[Hmm, well I know the basics but nothing more. Never put much effort on that side of the magic.] 

'Huh, I thought you master all types of magic.'

[I did, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I can teach this to others. I can help you with the basics but if you are thinking of learning it to the extreme level then you will need someone's help. Mostly likely McGonagall, Dumbledore or Nicholas Flamel.] Merlin said with a shrug. 

'One minute, how I'm gonna learn the Law Of Matter if you can't teach me ?' Orion asked with confusion in his face. 

[No no I can still teach you the law part, just look for a different teacher for basic transfiguration. It's been so long since I used basic transfiguration that I can't teach you that anymore. I only use the Law for those kinds of things. And that was too a 1000 years ago.] Merlin pointed out the real problem.
