15 Chapter 15 : Potions And Snape

"I can't go on like this, I felt like an Intern who doesn't even get anything to eat let alone salary, yesterday. Merlin we need to do something about it," Orion woke up and ranted about his problems.

It seems that performing his Integration technique with his daily studies took an additional toll on him.

And maybe he over-exerted himself yesterday to learn the runes but that doesn't mean he can't see the real problem here.

"Okay okay, I get it. The problem is that even with your amazing mental fortitude, you are getting extreme mental fatigue if you continue to study and keep using your Integration to increase your magic," Merlin, at last, got annoyed with Orion and said to stop him.

"I know that, but I'm asking if there is a way to lessen my mental Fatigue," Orion asked while getting ready to go and do his magic training again.

"Hmm, well there is one way. There is this one potion which can reduce mental fatigue for you," Merlin suggested, there are other ways as well but all of those need more magical power to implement.

"Brilliant, it just happens to be that today we have Potions Class," Orion perked up at this and went to his training.

After hungrily devouring his food like always, Orion went out to find the necessary materials to make his potion.

His idea was pretty simple, complete whatever assessment Snape gives him and then use the rest of the time to prepare for his potion.

And while he is at it, he might get a few tips from Snape.

So, with that said, he went to the potions class with Ron, Rose and Hermione. Of course, he prepares all the possible ingredients he can for the potion beforehand.

The Potion's class is one of the classes which Gryffindor have to share with Slytherin.

Meaning the moment he entered the class he noticed many Slytherin students there.

"Hmm, Snape is not here, I guess it's the right time to get started with the prep work for our refreshment potion," Merlin said.

According to him, this was his own recipe and he never gave his potion a name. He used to use this potion or at least a higher variant of this whenever he was studying magic.

"What is all this," Rose asked with confusion on her face. She in this case is much like Harry from the cannon.

Not much interested in anything except flying. But apparently, she was a little interested in the potions considering that Orion gave her one and it was doing wonders for the poor girl.

It was making her cheek rosy and nurturing her body. She was already feeling pretty energetic.

"I'm gonna make a special potion which can reduce mental fatigue and while am at it, I will make the same potion I gave you, you will need more," Orion just explained his entire plan and even told why he was acting like that yesterday.

Rose who heard that Orion was making potion for her immediately brightened up and was even a little shy.

Hermione from the sideline heard this and her eyes were shining already.

Something which can let her study for more hours. There is no way she is missing out on this.

Ron though, was just uninterested.

"Oh see who we have here, a half squib." came the voice and Orion's good mood immediately faltered.

'One of these days, I'm gonna break this guy's face,' Orion looked at the ugly mutt face of one Draco Malfoy.

"Leave him alone Malfoy," Rose sends a threatening glare at Malfoy.

Malfoy looked like he was about to retort but before that with a bang, the door of the classroom opened and Snape came in.

"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few..." Snape came in with all his style and said with a low tone. But for some reason, everyone was able to hear him. At the end of the sentence, he looked at Draco.

"Who possess, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." He said and there was extreme silence in the class.

Unlike Harry, Rose was paying full attention in class and there was no reason to directly target her.

'I believe that Rose here will have better luck with Snape here than the canon Harry. She looked too much like her mother,' Orion thought.

And the estimation was right as Snape was looking at Rose with strange eyes.

He didn't say anything for a second but then snapped towards Orion.

"Mr Ambrosius, may I ask why you have so many ingredients here with you," Snape asked.

"Yes, I brought all of this to make some Body and Mind nourishment potions," Orion said, a little surprised seeing that Snape even remembered his name.

Maybe the fact that he is a half-squib became popular among the Professors.

Well, it's not his fault now it is. He was a squib just a few months ago. He doesn't have all those years to naturally increase his magical power like most of the kids here.

"Body and Mind nourishment potion you say," Snape asked in disdain.

Not at all believing that a first-year student from no particular background like Orion can brew a potion let alone two.

Not to mention, most of the teachers are aware of Orion's background. The fact that he lives alone in a forest doesn't give Snape much confidence in Orion.

"Perhaps Mr Ambrosius thinks that Making Potion is similar to cooking soup by gathering enough eatable materials and throwing them inside a pot," Snape said, and Slythering students giggled at this.

'Was it really that funny, I didn't find it that funny,' Orion genuinely asked Merlin.

"Nah, they just need a reason to laugh, they are kids, what you expect," was Merlin's response.

Orion agrees with Merlin and doesn't respond to Snape's obvious jab. 

But being a potter, Rose just had to open her mouth.

"He can make potions. He even gave me one which help give nutrients to my body," Rose said glaring at Snape.

Snape looked at Rose and then at Orion. Only he knew what he was thinking.

Then, Orion felt it. A mental prompt. 

'This bastard is using legilimency on me,' Orion was about to tighten his shields instinctively but then Merlin said.

"Give him access to those memories. Shield other memories." Merlin said.

Orion by now has already sorted out all of his memories and put everything out for the open which is not important while shielding only the important memories. 

So he just let Snape see the Memories which he wanted.

A/N: If anyone is wondering, how come the chapter fell short? Because it is. I can't write a 1500 words chapters every day but I will try. I will though give a thousand words for sure.
