129 Chapter 129 : Orion vs Nick 3
Merlin looked at his student who got entirely swallowed by the Basilisk.
"..."
"Finally," Nick shouted the moment he saw Orion gone. He was still huffing and holding his abdomen. The pain was excruciating there as Orion didn't hold back when he blasted himself back with his force.
"I am just happy that it was magic and not his raw punch," Nick stutters after remembering what kind of punches Orion has.
Merlin didn't care about what was happening with Nick. His whole attention was on the Basilisk. It was hard but he could still sense his student's magic inside the basilisk.
The fight had taken a toll on Nick, and his translucent form flickered like a waning candle. Wounds manifested as he checked his body. The Chamber walls bore witness to the clash of magic and spirit, an unconventional battle between the living and the departed.
Summoning the basilisk was the right option which Nick made in a desperate gambit. He didn't want to involve the snake honestly, but he wasn't expecting Orion to be this strong.
Nick remembers how weak Orion was last year. And to some extent suddenly getting stronger is not something he should criticise as he himself has improved his own power quite a bit.
But that is when he indulges in black magic and many forbidden rituals. Orion though didn't do any of it. This one makes Nick confused and at the same time irritated.
If there really exists a way to get strong like Orion without performing dark magic then everyone would have done so.
But that doesn't matter anymore, he completed what he wanted. ...She gave him only 2 goals. Now one of them is done.
But Nick, just like Orion wanted to get answers to many questions he had and only Orion could have answered them. But again it's pointless to think about it now.
"This fight cost me my Elder Wand." Nick almost said with anger in his tone.
"Sigh, I need to get back. Hermione will be waking up soon. Its gonna be really hard to explain what happened here to her," Nick slowly got up and started to walk towards the door.
"Ssaaaarrrrrrrr," but at this time the Basilisk's started to scream. Veiling in pain, it started to make a commotion. Going completely berserk.
Nick gapes at the sudden action from the deadly snake and quickly makes some distance from it.
He doesn't understand, why suddenly it's acting like that, could it be that Orion is indigestible?
A strange thought somehow formed inside his head but he quickly shook it off as the snake veiling started to increase. Enough for him to take out his other wand, ready to defend himself if he has to.
"Shaakaaaaaaa" The Basilisk crashes into the snake statues, breaking them and destroying everything.
Only Merlin who was seeing this actually understood what was really going on.
[That boy is insane.] Merlin saw Orion absorbing the Basilisk's magic from inside and deadpan.
Just as the commotion started, just like that it ended. Soon the Basilisk collaspe. Almost looked like it was dead.
Nick narrowed his eyes, confused at what happened suddenly.
But then it happened, the entire snake started to glow in an eerie red colour from inside. While Nick was confused at this, Merlin's eyes widened feeling a familiar magic.
[This, but how is this possible? He failed all the time back then] Merlin sounded very surprised but there was a smile on his face all the way.
Nick suddenly felt it, and so did Merlin. Something happening. It was powerful magic. Coming from inside the now-death Basilisk.
But Nick's senses were not as good as Merlin's. Merlin could sense the power coming from the corpse of the snake. This was something very similar to what he had felt before.
"DEATH,"
He immediately became worried, not sure what was going on inside the basilisk. What Orion was doing?
It was so powerful that the unstable law of space which Merlin was feeling established.
The chamber started to tremble. It was like suddenly a miniature red sun appear out of nowhere.
There wasn't much heat but the amount of power releasing was making both Nick and Merlin felt like that.
The power grew, and grew, and grew until.
"ALL MIGHTY PUSH,"
