118 Chapter 118 : Following The Spiders

-Rose POV-

The news of Hermione being petrified hit me like a Bludger to the chest. She was my best friend, and I couldn't sit idly while she lay in the hospital wing, frozen like a statue. I know that Orion knows who exactly is doing this, what we are facing but he won't say. But I am determined to get to the bottom of this mystery, I decided to find out what exactly was happening in Hogwarts.

This was the best time to act as even Orion was not around to keep an eye on me, yeah I knew that he was keeping an eye on me and even trying to protect me, I am gladful that I have a friend like him hmmm well friends are not the only thing I want to be but no not what are you doing rose don't thing about it right now, Anyway as I poke around for information I eventually heard whispers about Hagrid possibly knowing something, so I made my way to his hut. As I approached, I noticed a group of wizards already questioning him. They seemed serious, but Hagrid was being his usual gruff self, revealing nothing.

Feeling a bit discouraged, I lingered nearby, hoping to catch a snippet of information. But as the wizards pressed on, I realized they were getting nowhere. That's when I made a decision – I couldn't rely on them to uncover the truth.

"I really don't want to go in there," I mutter as I look at the forbidden forest.

I don't know how trustworthy this knowledge is but this is the only way for me to find out what's going on, not like this is the first time I'm going in there, last year we went in there. Bu... But Orion was with us and others as well...

No.. I need to get some answers. Follow the spider, I hope that this will give me some answers.

As I navigated through the dark and eerie forest, I couldn't shake off the feeling of trepidation. The trees loomed overhead, casting long shadows, and every rustle of leaves sent a shiver down my spine. It felt like I was in a story straight out of one of the Hogwarts library books.

Then, in the distance, I heard it – the skittering of countless tiny legs. Spiders. My heart pounded, but remembering Hagrid's affinity for these creatures, I cautiously followed them. I don't like spider, I don't like spiders, I don't like spiders. No no no no, it should be I don't see any spiders, I don't see any spiders, there are no spiders, there are no spiders.

They led me deeper into the forest, and with each step, the mystery unravelled. Even after muttering constantly to myself that there were no spiders around, I knew that I was just lying to myself.

Hell, I am following them willingly in the forest where there are more of those things.

As I ventured deeper into the Forbidden Forest, the air thickened with an eerie stillness. Suddenly, a colossal shape emerged from the shadows – the biggest spider I had ever seen. Its eight hairy legs loomed over me, and my breath caught in my throat. Fear gripped me as its many eyes fixated on my presence. My legs froze, and every instinct screamed at me to run. The colossal arachnid shifted, and I stumbled backwards, realizing I was in the presence of something ancient and formidable. The Forbidden Forest revealed its secrets, and I stood there, paralyzed by the sheer magnitude of the giant spider before me.

I found myself facing a giant spider, Aragog. Hagrid's friend. Well, I at least believe that he is Hagrid's friend otherwise I am doomed.

-POV END-

----

Rose, her voice trembling with fear, cautiously addressed the colossal spider before her. "Um, hello. I'm Rose, a friend of Hagrid's. I... I need to know who's petrifying the students at Hogwarts. Can you help?" Rose said but her stuttering and flinching were apparent to the spider.

The giant spider regarded her with multiple eyes, its presence looming. After a moment, it began to speak, its voice a low and rumbling echo through the forest. "Rose, a friend of Hagrid, I am Aragog. Long have I dwelled in this Forbidden Forest. The one who petrifies is not of my kin. NO ! you should not seek my children for this....."

Rose only after this much was relieved that the giant spider just didn't outright attack her.

" The one you seek is the one who our kind have feared for the longest of time, I remember.... I remember the time when the Chamber of Secrets was first opened."

The giant Spider said and this finally made Rose a little at ease, at long as the spider was willing to talk, meant that he was ready to help out her.

Rose listened intently as Aragog unravelled the story of the Chamber, the giant serpent within, and the dark force that had plagued Hogwarts decades ago. The giant spider spoke of a creature, a basilisk, and how it was set free, petrifying students with its gaze. As the tale unfolded, Rose felt a chill down her spine, realizing the connection to the current attacks. In the heart of the Forbidden Forest, the ancient arachnid shared secrets of a hidden past, setting Rose on a path to confront the lingering menace within the castle walls.
