8 Chapter Eight

"..."

We followed behind a tall kid, who was probably in his last year of studying, the head boy was leading us to the dungeons, where the Slytherin dorm apparently was.

I remained silent as I walked, leading the crowd along with Malfoy, who seemed to be determined to keep up with the pace. As soon as we reached the entrance... which was an unassuming portrait of an older woman who was wearing a slick black dress and was looking at me like that was completely normal...

Wait a minute.

Resisting the urge to toss a fireball at the fucking piece of animated paper. I remained silent and reached out with my mana, tracing the portrait and discerning what made this thing tick.

Apparently, this portrait was acting as a door that required a password, now, I could mold my mana into the "Keyhole" and override the code, but since it was entered by the portrait itself, I could make an educated guess on how it worked, the woman could notice.

"Password?"

The voice was crisp and the words were spoken calmly like none of us would dare do something to it, and she was partially right since she was responsible for opening the door, no one would risk remaining outside the dorms.

"Supremecy."

I took a deep breath and resisted groaning out loud. What kind of password was "Supremecy"? Do you have a stick shoved up your ass?

The woman on a two-dimensional piece of paper nodded and the portrait moved, opening up like a normal door and letting us step inside the corridor.

Finally reaching the common room of Slytherins, I looked around as the upper years were looking at us like they just found something amusing.

I glanced at Draco, who was trying to keep a straight face, but that wasn't important right now.

What was important was the strong magical signature that was coming up behind us. It was stronger than the seventh year that led us here.

I refrained from looking back until the person's footsteps were heard and when the others looked back, only then did I do the same.

One of the professors, Severus Snape, was walking toward us with his robes billowing like there was the wind... in the dungeons...

I looked at the robes.

[Black robes.]

...Nope, it wasn't enchanted, then how the hell was it bellowing like that?

"The house of Slytherin-"

Oh god, he was making a speech.

The man walked around the group of first years and stood next to the one that brought us here.

"Is a united house, outside of this room, we do not squabble, we do not argue and we do not oppose each other."

His voice was calm like his gaze as he looked over everyone until his eyes met mine. We stared at each other for a few seconds, longer than he had anyone else in the group until he broke the gaze.

"If you have any disputes, they will be settled privately. I welcome you to the house of ambition and cunning."

With that, he turned and walked off...

God, what a fucking drama queen.

I glanced at the surroundings and noticed that the older year students were dispersing, though, I couldn't get the paranoid feeling that I got as soon as I noticed them away.

"Now, go to your assigned rooms and unpack your trunks, all of the items you brought are already in the rooms, enjoy your stay at Hogwarts."

We were assigned rooms?

___

Turns out, the names of the students were written on the door of their designated dorm, I ended up with Malfoy and his, what I assume to be friends who were more like goons.

WhAt A CoInCiDeNcE...

Yeah, this was totally set up, by who, I don't know, but I didn't really care. I already knew how to deal with any information that was spilled in this room and make it stay in this room.

I needed to make a magically binding contract. Easy as that.

But that would take time and money, which I had, but for now, I would keep silent and wait it out.

Absently petting Hades who stretched in my lap, I hummed thoughtfully... I was in deep shit right now.

I was in the presence of kids that would grow to be heads of houses, right now, I could bullshit my way out of situations, but when they got older, they would probably... Most definitely catch on.

Thinning my lips, I waited. Waited for the response to my letter for Gringgots, I was claiming my scion rights, meaning, I could invest. I needed to invest for, you know, the future.

"Aren't you going to unpack, Potter?"

I glanced to the side, eyeing Draco for a moment, finding it peculiar how he emphasized my last name... Potter... Poh-ttah...

Sounded hilarious the way he said it.

Poh-Tt-Ah...

Heh.
