"Help me, how?" Harry asked in confusion.

"To understand that you first have to know what your predicament is. You see while you fixed Fate's mistake by completing the prophecy, during that time a lot of things happened that weren't supposed to happen. This caused a small shift in the balance, the shift is so small that you mortals don't even notice it but we do. While this is not the first time this happened and most of these tiny shifts fix themselves on their own without needing any interference from us." Death explained.

"So what now? does Fate now expects me to fix this shift or whatever?"

"No, of course not" Death quickly dismissed that like it was crazy for harry to even suggest such a thing.

"You might be a powerful wizard harry but this is not something a mortal can fix. But what Fate suggested is even more ludicrous. Fate wants us to go back in time before the prophecy was made and fix the mistake, so the shift in the balance would never exist in the first place"

"What is so ludicrous about that? I mean we mortals can't mess with time. But you guys literally have Time on your side." To Harry Fate's plan made perfect sense.

"Ah, the ignorance of mortals, it never really ceases to amaze me. you don't even understand what comes out of your silly little mouths. Going back in time means that you and the entire world around you would just disappear like it was never there to begin with. Your entire life would just vanish and you won't even notice." Death explained to harry like he was a child. But then again to Death itself, Harry's entire life is little more than a blink.

As Harry tried to comprehend his entire life just disappearing into nothing, Death continued.

"Yes going back means destroying everything that exists now. This is not the first time one of us suggested this idea but every time it got rejected by Time. But somehow this time, Time accepted going back to fix this mistake. And so for the past two decades, while you mortals were living your lives, we were debating whether or not to accept Fate's request. you see even though Time agreed, the decision had to be unanimous and now after so long we finally accepted."

"So what now? I mean it sounds like you guys have already decided to go through with this, and where do I come in into all of this? It's not like you called me here just for a chat, not when it's likely that I won't even remember this conversation" Harry went straight to the point.

Death nodded, "Good it seems that age has made you more perceptive, not like your youth when you jumped into danger at every chance you got. You and I have had some very close encounters during that time. But we are here because Fate is very happy with you, and wants to reward you. For everyone else that would be a good thing but for you not so much."

"Why is it bad for me?"

"You like every other mortal won't remember what happened because that time would cease to exist. And because Fate is happy with you she is going to nudge the world in your favour, like your parents won't die when you get that scar. While this all might sound good but it's not. You will have a nice and happy childhood with your parents and you won't even remember this life but the prophecy will remain the same. You are still going to be the one who has to face Tom Riddle when he returns, you see why that is a problem right" Death said with a heavy certainty.

Harry stayed silent, of course, he could see why but... he refused to say those words. Seeing that Harry won't answer Death continued.

"Fate thinks that Harry Potter who will grow up with a loving family will be stronger than this harry potter. Fate doesn't understand that it was all the suffering that made Harry Potter who he is in the first place. You had to struggle for everything and that's what made you stronger than Tom Riddle"

Harry wanted to scream and deny that, but he couldn't. He still remembers that night.

Harry was seven and it was summer, he was on the floor inside the cupboard. It had been 4 days since harry had anything to eat, he hated summers at that time because at least in school harry could get one decent meal. His aunt and uncle were gone on a week-long vacation with Dudley and of course, they would not take the 'freak' with them. Harry's secret food stash was empty for a week now. Since his relatives were not here and he was locked in, he couldn't even eat scarps or steal some food.

Harry felt so weak and his tummy kept hurting, then he felt that chill come over him. It was like something was whispering into his ears,' it won't hurt anymore if you just go to sleep.' Suddenly Harry felt so tired and drowsy, he just wanted to go sleep and never wake up. Maybe he will be able to meet his parents in his dreams. Just when Harry was about to drift into sleep, he saw that red-haired woman again from his memories, all of them were so blurry but he could never forget that woman. Maybe this was harry's mother but he couldn't be sure. To this woman harry was not a freak, she always smiled at him and it made him feel all warm even when it was cold.

Suddenly, a warm sensation came from inside him and slowly spread across his whole body. Harry's tummy was no longer hurting and slowly that coldness went away. This was not the first time that Harry saw that woman, but every time he felt like giving up he would remember that woman, that woman gave him a reason to keep going.

It was Harry's stubborn will to live after seeing his mother's face that made his magic act and saved him that night. This was not the only time that Harry nearly died under the care of Dursleys during his childhood. It was only later in life that he realised that a normal child would have died countless times in those circumstances, it was only through his will and magic that he survived. It was the same relentless will to live that made harry into the wizard who could go spell to spell against Voldemort and come out on top.

Everything he learned came at the cost of relentless pain and loss, some might say it was way more than anyone could handle. He is not ready to forget all that in the hopes that everything would just work itself out.
