New Spell
"BOOOM", a final bold hit the trolls head and the skull cracked, exploding with a resounding "BAM" and spluttering brain mass and parts of the skull in every direction.
The troll was dead!
"YES!", Alexander shouted happily, they had managed to hunt an actual mountain troll with only half a year experience as wizards and were able to do it without getting hurt. To be honest, that was an amazing feat and many people often forgot how strong trolls can be. A strong and smart mountain troll would be able to take out a 90s tank with relative ease if the muggles are not specifically trained to kill trolls.
"We got it!", Nadine yelled as well and ran to Sebastian, happily hugging him.
"Yes, we did it!", Sebastian answered and smiled, hugging Nadine back.

A day later, they were able to hunt the other troll, which was way weaker than the first one. Luckily, there weren't any surprises and additional troll, therefore they managed to do it with ease and a bit of planning, after which two ministry workers appeared, took the corpses and dopped the three off in front of a castle, probably their new school. Until now, they hadn't really been outside or the castle, but it was a look to behold.
Black towers and walls, standing tall on a stone plateau, surrounded by a dense forest and tall trees. It looked magical but also futuristic.
"Plop", Professor Krieg appeared in front of the trio, smiling.
"Well done. You did some mistakes you could have prevented, but all in all, you are the best group, I am proud of you.", he said and guided them through the forest to a small cave, with two wizards with masks standing near the entrance. They wore a stylish combat wizard attire, and their sigils showed the letters 'H.W.', meaning that both of them were actual Hit Wizards, trained combat mages, capable of destroying a large manor in literal seconds.
"From now on, we are going to increase your training a bit, and we will focus a bit more on single target combat. Until now, you have mostly been learning spells, tactics, formations, and miscellaneous information for any situation, but not how to fight a wizard.", the professor informed them.
"In the new semester, starting now, your electives on Friday will be replaced with more combat lessons, because we realized that we have to push you harder so you can fully live up to your potential.", Professor Krieg concluded and brought them to the great hall to feast. The next week would be free time.

Sebastian was back in the library, reading with a few friends. He had gotten a new book from the school, put together to help him specifically, as did everyone else. It seemed that the school really wanted to help them progress. With high expectations, Sebastian opened the first page and began reading:
'Most wizards either focus solely on large area spells or single target spells. The reason for this, is the fact that there are too many spells in any category, especially with the new boom that led to the creation of hundreds of new spells.
Therefore, you must decide early which style to focus on. Large area spells are effective against many enemies, but weak against a single stronger target. Another disadvantage is the high base requirement to learn them. You need to have high magical reserves, a lot of knowledge, and a lot of talent.
Single target spells can further be classified into different groups. Assassination, head on combat, overpowering or strategy. To find a good mix of all of these is a requirement to build a own and fitting combat style
Albus Dumbledore is known for either overpowering his enemies or using strategies through the application of large-scale transfiguration. He also uses wards and strong transfiguration shields.
Professor Krieg is known for ruthlessly bombarding an enemy, giving them no chance to retaliate and drive them into a corner, leading them to make mistakes.
Auror Moody is known to hide sneak attacks in his spell chains, surprising his enemies, which makes him a dangerous enemy.
Lord Star is known to apply heat and illusions to confuse enemies and kill them in one strong attack.
This book will present to you are few different combat styles, spells, and strategies in detail for you to start creating your own style.
Additionally, this book will explain a few spells created just for you, along with new research, found out by a German research department.

'Nice, this should be able to help me immensely. I just hope that I will be able to get stronger fast.', Sebastian thought to himself, diving into the book and what he read amazed him.
Newfound research explained the behaviour if the phenomenon of elemental affinity in more detail, and what was thought to be theory or thesis, was proven, and further researched.
Everyone had a talent, that was known, but everyone also had one or two elements they were strong with, and it reminded Sebastian of Naruto and Kekkei Genkai.
There were fire, water, wind, earth, nature, decay, time, space, and matter. At least those were the ones currently known. Every magic, like transfiguration, was part of one of these affinities.
Transfiguration was a mix of matter and decay, while warding was a mix of space, time, and matter. There was nothing like 'light' or 'dark' magic, only these elements or affinities. To be honest, it was very confusing, but an ancient ruin in the Apls proved this, by depicting ancient wizards as master of one element or several. There were also runes swirling around some of these wizards, but they still could not figure out why.
Another conclusion was that many nations should already have this knowledge, but the research of physics, should have finally proven it, enabling everyone to finally delve into a new territory. There were even rumours that the G.W.I. wanted to update its ranking, making it more focused on elemental mastery.
Still, everyone knew that to master some kind of element you would still need to understand it, which was why creating and mastering those new spells was so important.
Now to that wannabe Kekkei Genkais. All family talents were found to be intricate fusions of elements, though some, like the Roth talent could not be explained yet.

After that, Sebastian finally reached a new spell, created for him and him alone.

Incantation: 'Luxafracta Praevarius'
Type: Charm and Wavelength manipulation
Wand Movement: Fluid, circular motion (Note: Symbolizing the wave nature of light) followed by a quick, precise jab forward (Note: Representing the particle aspect of light)
Effect: Upon casting the incantation and executing the wand movement, the spell uses the quantum properties of light to create an interaction with magical shields and spells. The spell imbues the emitted light beam with quantum fluctuations, changing the probability-wavelength, causing it to show both wave-like interference patterns and particle-like properties. This disrupts most magic, but may be stopped by some space spells, wards, and physical shields.
When the beam encounters a magical shield or spell, these quantum fluctuations disrupt the intent of the shield's magic at a fundamental level. The interference patterns interfere with the stability of the shield's structure, while the particle nature of the light beam enables it to penetrate through gaps in the shield's defences with precision, disrupting the casters connection.
The interaction between the quantum properties of light and the magical shield creates a complex loop, which compromised and destabilized the shields or spell's strength. With each interaction, the shield or spell weakens further until it eventually collapses.
Note: The caster needs to continuously change the wavelength of the light. The higher the frequency of the wavelength change, the higher the spells power. This spell is connected to no other spell, but the basic disruption theory is based on its predecessor, Fulguris Nexus.

Requirements: High talent in charms, deep understanding of the quantum properties of light and light. Being able to influence a spells wavelength.
