Hunting! And to school!

Sebastian was stunned. He had never heard about this ability in Harry Potter. From what he knew, there was chantless casting or completely wandless. But he had never heard of nearly hiding the light a spell produced.

Some spells like transfiguration or the levitation charm didn't have a light, but some were as bright as a bomb going off in close vicinity.

'Phew, that's cool. But let's try again. It is worth nothing if I can't reproduce it.'

"Stupefy!", Sebastian said calmly, putting nearly all his intent on hiding and the rest on stunning power.

The spell went off and this time, the light was even dimmer and smaller than the last tim. It hit a tree and from the damage done, the spell's power was no less than before.

"YES!", Sebastian cried out. Finally, there was something he was good at. If he was able the get a good shot and had enough stunning power, he could even hunt a few wolves now. That would be epic.

After preparing himself mentally and physically, Sebastian went on to look for new prey. Unfortunately, he didn't meet any wolves that day, but he stunned every other animal that came his way.

-The next morning-

A few hours afters standing up and continuing his hunt, Sebastian finally met two wolves strolling through the woods.

'Finally!'

He hid himself behind a large tree and peeked at the wolves trotting roughly twenty meters in front of him, only visible through a few gaps between the trees.

Sebastian carefully took aimed at the wolf on the left and took a slow, calming breath.

"Stupefy."

The spell went off and hit the wolf on its back. It dropped to the ground like it was dead. The other wolf stopped, confused, and then ran in his direction.

'How does he know where I am?'

Sebastian calmed himself and took aim at the running wolf.

"Stupefy!"

The spell hit the wolf who fell on his face and slid and rolled on the ground.

Sebastian quickly thought about how to handle the wolves and settled on killing them with a rock.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

A nearby rock began to lift off the ground and float above the nearby wolf. Sebatian then let the rock smash on the wolf's head.

"Crack-Smirsh"

The head was flattened like a sponge when you press the water out of it. Unluckily, the blood acted the same as the water when you do it really fast and splashed in every direction and dirtied Sebastian's robe and face, as he stood too close. At least that was a lesson he learned.

Sebastian proceeded to touch the wolf with the spine of the exchange book and walked to the other wolf only to realise that it was missing. 'Shit, the stunner apparently wasn't strong enough.'

Sebastian stood still and thought about the whole scenario.

'Hmm, firstly, my stunner wasn't strong enough and I should have practiced more and secondly: AM I DUMB? They are wolves! They could have smelled me a long time before I was near. I was lucky to even come that close to them. Maybe I should think everything through before I do something the next time just because I learned a new spell. A new spell doesn't mean unmatched power! I must internalize this; I don't want to lose my life early. I should also always be alert and- '

"STOMP" "STOMP" "STOMP" "STOMP"

Sebastian turned around in panic. Just thirty meters away from him, a troll came running, swinging a small tree trunk in his left hand. It must have smelled the blood.

"shit"

Sebastian turned around and ran. From what he knew, a stunner can't inflict a troll or other magical resistant creatures if they aren't either overpowered or cast in a very large quantity. And think what you want, Sebastian had long since realized that Harry Potter and his friends had massive plot armor or else they would have been squashed by the troll like a fly with a fly swatter.

He held his staff behind him and blindly cast a few stunners.

 "Stupefy!"

"Stupefy!"

"Stupefy!"

"Stupefy!"

He heard a crash and looked back.

The troll had fallen on one knee, maybe he had hit it a few times with a bit of luck, but it wasn't enough to stun the troll.

Sebastian turned his head and continued running. 'If only I had learned this blood boiling spell! If I could hit his head or heart, he would either be in a lot of pain or even die! Shit, shit, shit'

"Crack"

He heard some weird noises from behind and turned around, only to see a tree fly at him horizontally. It was only a few meters away! Sebastian closed his eyes, through himself to the ground and braced himself for the possible impact, only to feel a pull from the necklace around his neck.

"Swoop."

Sebastian fell on a hard marble ground.

"Well done, Sebastian. Welcome to Blackwald Institute of the Arcane.", Sebastian heard a male voice saying and looked up to see a man in a black robe, wearing the standard black boots, holding his arms behind his back.

The man had brown eyes, a neat short brown beard and brown hair, short, combed brown hair, a leisurely and welcoming smile on his face.

He too had a sigil on his chest. The same forest with floating symbols, but his sigil had the letters 'A & VH' written on it.

"I am the vice headmaster and teacher for astronomy. My name is Willi Langsicht.", Willi Langsicht introduced himself.

"Don't you want to stand up and come with me to the entrance hall?", the vice headmaster asked, "You see, we will have to hurry as I have just been informed that we will soon be expecting the next students to arrive.", the man added.

Sebastian nodded, stood up and followed the vice headmaster. He had only just realized that they were in a dimly lit room with nothing inside and only one door leading outside.

When they went out of the door, Sebastian saw a large and long hall, built a bit like the entrance hall of Hogwarts, just that there weren't any windows and at the top of the stairs was a large double door made of wood, there were stairs at each corner neighboring the doors. The hall was around fifteen meters tall and curved like the ceiling of a Christian church. There were drawings on the ceiling, picturing animals and creatures, a forest, and many symbols. In the very center was the same sigil he wore, with the sentence

'Unveiling the Arcane, Empowering the Future' written in it in smooth, floating letters.

"Yes, that's the motto of our school. To unveil the arcane. To know everything there is to know about magic.", Professor Langsicht said to Sebastian.

"Now, I think it is time to explain a bit to you. You are lucky that you have the chance to talk with me alone and can ask questions if they arise."

"You see, the forest was a test to gauge your talents and your modus operandi. How you react, how you handle different situations and where your future prospects may be. You were never in real danger. You were supervised by a few 7th year students that wanted to earn extra. They watched whether you were in danger and just had to press a button to bring you here if need be. And don't worry, they are very experienced in assessing dangers and not violating your privacy."

"For now, you will have to stay in the entrance hall and will be introduced to the other students during the next feast in a few hours. Until then you can talk with the students coming by, read a book or play.", he said as he pointed to a corner Sebastian hadn't looked at.

There were several chairs and a couch coupled with a table with games on it and a shelf with books on it.

"Now, here is your evaluation. You will find out how everything works this evening, as the test was about to end anyway, or if you ask one of the students. Do you have any questions?", the vice headmaster asked, as he handed Sebastian a piece of paper.

"No, it's a bit much right now, maybe later.", Sebastian answered.

"Good, don't forget to only keep your staff and the book you got before school. You will have to put the rest in a box near the table. See you later, Sebastian.", professor Langsicht said and walked away.
