Chapter 21 - First Day 09.

[Chapter Size: 1700 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Snape looked with an expression on his face that conveyed a mix of indifference and mild irritation. Meanwhile, the headmaster himself seemed calm, with a small smile on his closed lips.

Seeing the silence, the headmaster began to break it. "Professor Minerva has spoken to me about your behavior in class," he started, but Snape calmly interrupted him.

"Yes, and I stand by my position. I do not respect her, after all, I have been bullied for a long time due to her incompetence in dealing with the students of her own house," Snape said, not caring about seeming to offend his transmigration teacher or even the headmaster.

Albus, getting used to this new personality of Snape, spoke calmly. "You should at least respect her, little Snape. She praised you as an excellent student in her class; you should consider that."

"Professor Dumbledore," Snape began, his voice tone uninterested, "my behavior, although it may seem unusual, is directed solely at my true feelings. I do not intend to pretend to like people whom I dislike," he said.

Albus sighed. "You don't intend to want to attend transmigration classes again?" he asked.

"No, I do not need to, and the professor asks for something I cannot give her, so there is no reason for me to go back there," Snape said.

The headmaster looked disappointed, and Snape did not care about that. Now, his topic moved to something else that had intrigued him since he arrived in the library. "You said that brute force could break magical defenses, but what you say, is humanly impossible," he said.

"Perhaps. But I am different," he said as he picked up the third book he had taken and began to read.

As much as Albus wanted to know more about Snape's secrets, he decided not to press too much, as Snape could become hostile, so his interest moved to the books above else.

"I will allow you to attend this session as long as you do not seek dark magic..." he said, and Snape nodded, looking at the book.

"That's good, after all, that was our agreement," Snape said.

Dumbledore heard this and still maintained a calm face and decided to address what Snape was reading. "I see you are reading a quite unique study... I've never encountered a student interested in the laws of space," Albus commented, after all, there were 3 books related to the topic on Snape's table.

"I saw that this is not a very studied field in the magical world, so I am interested in learning more about it," Snape said as he memorized everything he read.

Dumbledore, however, kept his serene posture and his scrutinizing gaze fixed on Snape. "Severo, this concerns me. As it is not a deeply explored area in the magical world, it can be dangerous to meddle with something like this. I hope you know what you're doing... It's not common for a student to show so much... tenacity, especially in such risky directions."

Snape stopped reading the book and looked up with a raised eyebrow. "With all due respect, Professor, my interest in this area, as you call it, has harmed no one. My academic interests are my own."

"I know that, my boy. Still, I hope you are careful with what you study..." Dumbledore said with a grandfatherly tone. "And you still need to pass all the subjects, even those you were not allowed to participate in," he demanded, and Snape nodded.

"Director Dumbledore," Snape said, "my presence in Professor McGonagall's classes or any other teacher's, in fact, is merely circumstantial. I am here at Hogwarts to learn and expand my magical horizons. As long as I am allowed to take the final exams, the O.W.L.s, the rest is irrelevant. I can miss all the classes and pass the exams."

"Even so, I would like you to attend the classes, even transfiguration if Professor Minerva allows you to return," he said. "Severo, you are, without a doubt, one of the most talented and dedicated students that have ever passed through Hogwarts. But knowledge does not live only in books or in the theories you are seeking so fervently. It is also in the people around you, in the teachers who dedicate themselves to guiding you, and in the classmates who share their learning. Do not underestimate the value of experience and wisdom that can be shared in a classroom."

"I will keep that in mind, headmaster..." Snape replied, turning back to the book.

"Anyway, I must return. But remember," he emphasized again, "Temporal and dimensional magic are areas of our art that offer tremendous possibilities but also equally great dangers. Not just for the practitioner, but for the fabric of reality as we know it, many have tried, and all did not end well with it," he said, even Albus Dumbledore attempted to study this area in his middle age, but it was a complete failure.

"I understand your concerns, Professor," Snape finally responded. "And I assure you that I do not intend to proceed lightly or without knowing that I have sufficient knowledge." Snape spoke.

Dumbledore nodded, "I'm leaving then, until next time." He spoke and used his apparition, a teleportation spell.

Snape no longer cared and continued his reading, he didn't mind as the hours passed while he continued studying everything he could.

The headmaster returned to his office on the top floor while calmly sitting at his desk thinking about everything he heard from Snape.

'Brute force... I certainly don't think that when someone set up their magical barriers they didn't think about this, but a human doing this with their own hands... What happened to you, Snape...' He thought and looked at his phoenix looking back at him with interest.

"You didn't seem to dislike that student who appeared here yesterday, my friend... But could I trust someone like him...? He is seeking quite peculiar and dangerous knowledge... Perhaps I underestimated him when I demanded that he not look at the dark magic session..." Albus thought while pondering everything he discussed with the student. He went to his window and placed the tip of his wand on his forehead, taking the memory fragment and placing it there, to keep it, after all, Snape was a puzzle that he intended to investigate until he found all the answers to his questions.

While Albus still wondered about what happened with Snape and his future here at Hogwarts, the afternoon passed while Snape continued reading everything he could until the evening came. Snape finally decided to end his studies and began to pack up the books and finally leave the place. He saw that the entrance he had broken was repaired and opened the place calmly before closing it.

He saw Madame Pince in the same place he had found her a few hours ago, she seemed in a bad mood, and when she saw him, it was as if she had found a mortal enemy, while her eyes blazed with flames of anger.

She seemed to swallow some pride within her as she stood up. "Mr. Snape," she said with the same tone Snape had heard before and looked at her with a questioning gaze.

"Director Dumbledore has made me aware of your situation. I do not know how a student managed to get this privilege, but you better not take anything from that place, because I will send you to Azkaban instead of expelling you from school," she started, and Snape did not seem intimidated by her threat.

"Get to the point, do not say things that I am already aware of." Snape had to retort, and this made the woman frown even more with Snape responding to her in that manner, at least they were alone at that moment, otherwise, the students would hear someone treating Madame Pince in a way no one had ever seen.

"Take this..." She said, taking a key out of her pocket, handing it to him. "This is the key to the restricted section, the director instructed me to give it to you, since this prevents you from breaking the gate again, which made the director have to fix the place with a spell," she said.

Snape heard that and nodded, taking the key and keeping it. He saw the woman turning after that and completely ignoring Snape's existence, which made him not pay much more attention to her and proceed to leave the place, it had almost passed dinner time in the common hall, so he headed to the Slytherin common room.

Meanwhile, the school did not seem to forget Snape; every one of his actions became the subject of almost all the students. Not everyone skips a week of class and returns completely changed, not everyone is expelled from transfiguration class or accused of killing a mandrake in the gossip, and certainly not someone who breaks into the restricted section and has the headmaster intervene, after being sought in the common room while Madame Pince had spoken that in front of everyone.

Snape approached the Slytherin dormitory while the students, some who had returned from the common room, were still gossiping about what happened during the day.

"Snape is totally insane!" someone exclaimed.

"What happened to him?! Because I haven't seen him yet and just hear about him."

"I saw him at breakfast, he's like everyone says, nobody even managed to talk to him."

"I don't intend to get close to him..."

"The first-year kids believe that yesterday he broke our door, can you believe it?"

"It's true! We all saw it, didn't we, Geronimo?!" the child asked the little noble who shrank.

"That's impossible... Nobody could break a magical door." An older student laughed and mocked.

"It's true!!!" another child exclaimed.

Craccccckkkk!!

Just at that moment, as they were gossiping, a cracking sound emerged with an explosion coming from outside.

"Hey, what's that?!" said a student, grabbing his wand immediately.

"It's him!!!" a first-year girl exclaimed.

"Who?"

"It's Snape!! He's going to break the door again!!!"

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!

Craccccckkkk!!

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM

The door opened again as Snape entered, bringing dust with him and the Slytherin door becoming fragments as it spread around the area. After all, this was the only way for him to enter Slytherin.
