Hogwarts.

Albus Dumbledore had started another year at Hogwarts, he was pleased as he first sat in his chair in the Great Hall, while the teachers began to arrive.
"Good evening, Dumbledore!" Horace Slughorn appeared and greeted him, and Dumbledore nodded to the potions professor.
"Good evening, headmaster." Another teacher called out, Filius Flitwick, the Charms Professor.
"Good evening to all." Rolanda Hooch, the flying instructor, said with a smile as she took her seat.
"Hello, excited for another year?" Pomona Sprout, the Herbology professor, said.
"I feel this year will be quite different from the others..." Sybill Trelawney, the divination professor, said, but without giving away much about her thoughts.
"Hello, Albus, hello everyone!" Minerva McGonagall appeared and continued. "Should I fetch the first-year students that Hagrid must be bringing?" She said and left the high part going towards the door of the empty hall.
As soon as she left, while Albus exchanged some conversations with the professors, the subject turned grim. "The war does not seem to be going well..." Slughorn commented with a gloomy look.
"I know, my dear friend... He is gathering more and more followers..." Dumbledore commented with the same look.
"The magical world is in danger... we need to do something..." Flitwick let his thoughts flow while listening to the conversation.
"Let's talk about this later, now we must greet our students, who are arriving." Albus cut the subject, and at that moment the door to the hall opened, and the seventh and sixth-year students began to enter at that exact moment.
The students, as every year, wearing their house uniforms, quickly reached their tables while chatting and pointing at the teachers seated at the main table gossiping among themselves.
Soon the fifth and fourth-year students entered at that moment, Dumbledore was pleased looking at his favorite students like Lily Evans, James Potter with his group who made many pranks around the school.
He thought for a moment that someone was missing from that group, but still did not know who, the third and second-year students entered soon after and all the students except the first years were now seated in their places, waiting for the initiation ritual for the first year.
Some time had passed, and the students were still gossiping among themselves, talking about topics they saw during the holidays and how they spent them, then the door opened with the Transfiguration professor, Minerva.
"Now, let's welcome the first years!" She announced, and the door opened with children at their 11 years entering while looking amazed at the magical hall, especially those who came from non-magical families.
Dumbledore nodded with joy as they lined up with everyone clapping for them, the Sorting Hat was announced, and the children began to go to it, while the hat commented on their thoughts, before shouting. "Gryffindor!" He announced the first child, and everyone at the Gryffindor table began to clap for their junior.
The children continued going one by one, and the hat choosing their houses, after being selected for Gryffindor, the home of the brave and bold. Slytherin houses the cunning and ambitious. Ravenclaw is the dwelling of those who stand out for their intelligence and prioritize learning. And Hufflepuff, where the most loyal and fair reside.
Dumbledore stood up and began to give a speech. "I am very happy that we are gathered for another year! And that new students are coming for an addition to Hogwarts. I hope to see great things from you this year, even in difficult times, the light will prevail!" He announced, and despite some looks of disdain from the Slytherins, he smiled. "We have a new professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts this year, but she will be introduced later."
"Let the night at Hogwarts begin!" He said, clapping his hands, and all the tables were filled with all kinds of food.
He smiled satisfied and sat back down as he ate along with the teachers. Minerva and Hagrid joined them.
"This year will be promising, for sure!" Minerva said with satisfaction.
"I hope so, Minerva." Flit said.
"Wait!" Slughorn suddenly cut the conversation with a loud voice, and everyone turned to him in surprise. "Where is Snape?! Why isn't he with the Slytherin table?" He questioned Albus, who immediately looked toward the house table founded by Salazar and remembered now which student he was missing.
"Minerva?" He asked the professor.
"Sorry, Albus, Snape wasn't on the bus..." She said.
"What?! Snape would never miss school; something happened!" Slughorn exclaimed, given Snape was a genius in potions and one of his best students.
"This student is where he must be, undergoing great trials!" Sybill spoke to everyone, but they just looked at her frowning and turned back to Albus.
"Calm down, Slughorn, we'll send an owl to his home and see what happened," Albus said, soothing the potions professor a bit.
After the feast, the year had finally begun, and everyone went to their dormitories as soon as they finished dinner. The following day, with the start of classes, Albus sent an owl to Snape's home, but it returned a day later without success, finding this strange, but a few days had passed without contact with Snape and fearing the boy had given in to the darkness as he feared while seeing him talking with Lucius Malfoy the entire last year after he had stopped speaking with Lily.
On the fourth day, Albus left the school and went to where Snape lived, he found his father and cast a spell on the drunk while taking some belonging of Snape's to use a seeking spell, as soon as he did after returning to Hogwarts, his owl had flown in that direction.
Then 2 or 3 days later, he felt someone approaching and being sure it wasn't Minerva who had just left after a small meeting she had about their plans for this year, he just looked after his phoenix, Fawkes, announced surprise at the student's magic, since she was sensitive to magic more than anyone there.
He turned in surprise when he encountered a young man with the appearance of a seventh year, however, he could feel his explosive magic, the young man had clearly not been controlling his magical power, but felt something that shouldn't be in a young man of that age, since not even he had so much power at that age. But what shocked him after the surprise with the immense pool of magic in him, was the similarity the young man had with someone he knew, it was clear he was in front of Severus Snape, but a completely different one than he remembered in terms of appearance.
"Is that you, Snape?" he said, sensing that the boy's magic was much more powerful than before, in addition to his changed physique.
"Yes, it's me, headmaster," Snape replied calmly as he walked to the middle of the room.
"My boy, what happened to you?" Albus could hardly believe his senses.
"It's a long story, would you like to hear it, headmaster...?" He said with a small smile.
Albus couldn't speak much in the first few seconds, but soon regained his composure and expressed himself with a grandfatherly smile, "Yes, I would like to hear your story, it must be quite interesting..." He spoke. "My boy, you have changed so much. What happened to you?"
Snape just stared for a while before speaking. "I felt I needed to change... After some events... so I isolated myself and worked on a potion..." He spoke without taking his eyes off Albus, and the headmaster knew that Snape had not only changed in appearance, he seemed like another person, and Albus would say so if he didn't feel his magic, something that cannot be copied, not even by Polyjuice Potion.
Snape continued. "I had a problem with this potion and ended up taking it unintentionally, I changed after that, this was the result. I was lucky to not have side effects. It was just an accident, a permanent one," He commented, shrugging, leaving Albus even more stunned.
If such a potion existed, surely its creator would be very wealthy, since Snape used to have a sickly appearance with tired eyes and yellow teeth, nothing like the young man in front of him.
"Did you lose the potion's formula?" Albus couldn't help but ask.
"As I said, it was an accident..." Snape shrugged.
"I understand... Now let me tell you, I might understand why you would say that if this was the case with your potion, but you still missed an entire week," Albus said, not in a friendly or stern tone, just stating the facts.
"You don't need to worry about that, headmaster..." Snape said as he approached the desk and placed his hand in his coat, he took out a paper from there and held it out to Dumbledore.
"It doesn't matter to me, not anymore, because this is my resignation letter from the school." Snape took a letter from his robe and placed it on the desk, leaving him even more stunned as he looked on.
Albus picked up the letter calmly and looked at Snape. "What is this?" he asked.
"You will understand as soon as you open it." He said with a tone of boredom, and Albus unrolled the letter before opening it.
He finished reading and looked up at the boy in surprise. "This... are you really serious?"
"Yes, this is my resignation letter, I'm leaving Hogwarts," Snape said in a neutral tone.
