~Chapter 4~

***** Kyle was filled with mixed feelings as the semester was coming to an end. He was happy that he would finally become a senior but he felt sad because his sister would not be schooling with him anymore. It was the last day of school and prom would be up in a week's time. Boys asked the girls out to prom by putting pretty ribbons in their hair. Kyle had a beautiful pink one ready to ask Eileen out. Eileen had been ignoring him but he only thought that she was busy. When it was break-time everyone went to make their move. Other than the seniors, only the basketball team and a few juniors would be attending the prom. Kyle and his friends all had an invitation. Kyle spotted Eileen standing by her locker and decided it was time to ask her out. Before he could get to her however, another guy got there first and gave her a ribbon. Eileen then hugged him passionately. Kyle was so confused but he still went to them. " Who the hell do you think you are and how dare you ask her out to prom?" Kyle confronted the guy furiously. " Hey, I'm Myron and this is my girlfriend," He answered calmly. " What's the meaning of this baby, i thought that we were dating. Is what he is saying true?" Kyle asked turning to Eileen. " Yes Kyle, we used to date but not anymore. I just realized that Myron is the one for me and that is why I have been avoiding you lately. I wonder why it was so hard for you to figure it until now. I'm sorry that I wasted your time and feelings but you have to move on and forget me," Eileen answered. Those words cut through Kyle's heart like a spear and he could not believe his ears. " What happened to us Eileen? You know that I want to spend my whole life by your side. Please tell me it's a joke, don't do this to me," Kyle begged on his knees with tears welled up in his eyes. " I know you do love me and all but i don't love you anymore Kyle. There is no more 'us' and there never will be again. We are done," Eileen answered coldly. She took off the ring Kyle had gifted her and returned it to him. She then held Myron's hand and they both walked away. Kyle held the ring close to his heart and closed his eyes in pain. He then angrily threw it in the trash. He texted Amelia and asked her to take his car home for him. He then left school and decided to take a walk to ease the pain a little. When Kyle was walking alone far from school, something hit his head so hard that he collapsed. As he regained consciousness, he found himself tied to a metallic chair in a strange warehouse. He was surrounded by unfamiliar faces who started beating him up mercilessly when he woke up. " Hey you, take this as a warning. Make sure you stay away from Eileen. Do not cross the path of our boss. The next time he will surely skin you alive," one of the attackers said. "If that is what all this is about, I promise I'll stay away. No need of killing me for it. Who are you anyway and who is this boss of yours?" Kyle said boldly. " You'll find out soon enough," the man replied. He then put a sack on Kyle's head. They injected a drug in his arm and he fell unconscious again. When Kyle woke up, everyone was gone. He was lying on a path a few blocks from his home. He struggled to get up and staggered back home. It was already quite dark. When he got home, he knocked and Kieran and Amelia rushed to open the door for him. Kyle was in really bad shape. " Oh my God bro, what happened to you? Who did this to you? You are even bleeding and badly injured," Amelia asked surprised. " I....I'm fine...I'm absolutely fine. The moon is out, the stars are shining. You are Amelia and you are Kieran...see..nothing to worry about," Kyle answered trying to stand up straight. Shortly, he collapsed again and his siblings brought him inside to his room. Their mother rushed and carried out first aid on him. They put him to bed and left him to rest. ***** ***** Kyle woke up and found his sister, Amelia, sitting right beside him. He had a slight headache so she gave him a sedative and water. " Hey bro, we need to talk. A lot of weird things have happened recently and I'm really worried about you. You have not been telling me anything so I wonder if you no longer trust me. You know you can count on me for anything and I'll always lookout for you, right?" Amelia asked Kyle. " I'm so sorry sis, I didn't mean to hide anything from you. They are all just happening fast. I trust you," Kyle answered. He then narrated his breakup with Eileen and how he was kidnapped. Amelia felt pity for him and promised to help if he ever needed her. She then asked Kyle to accompany her to shop for prom to cheer him up. They got ready and drove to the mall. Amelia told Kyle that she needed the best outfit for she would be running for prom queen and Matty for prom king. Kyle was happy for her and told her not to worry for she would surely take the crown. When they got into the store they asked for the best gowns, heels and jewelry. Amelia then started trying them on. They were all really pretty on her because she had a beautiful body shape. The last one of them was the best so both she n Kyle chose it. It was a red strapless gown with silver jewels attached to it. She looked like a Disney princess in it. Kyle was stupefied at the sight and he started imagining Eileen in it. He immediately dismissed the thought. He complemented his sister and told her that Matt would definitely fall for her again if he saw her. " Thanks a lot bro, you'll make me cry if you keep praising me like that. You are so sweet," Amelia said. They paid for the gown and matching heels and beautiful red diamond jewelry. They then went to the car and drove back home. ***** " Wow, Ma'am, Sir, you are both looking stunning tonight," Shakira said when she saw Mimie accompanying Kyle and Amelia downstairs. They both thanked her for her complement. Mrs Lucy was so happy to see how good her kids looked. She felt so proud. Amelia had make up on her and her hair was neatly held in a sleek ponytail. Her outfit and matching sling bag summed up all her beauty. Kyle was neatly dressed in a black suit with a matching tie, shoes and a white shirt. His hair was combed backwards and he was really handsome. Their mother hugged them both with their brother and took some pictures. She then told them to take care and have fun at prom. Kyle drove Amelia in his Lamborghini to the venue and they arrived after a short while. Kyle got off and opened the door for his sister to get off as he held her hand. Suddenly, they both caught the attention of everyone at the venue. They took photos and videos of them. When they got in, Matty was waiting and he admired Amelia. He hugged and kissed her then handed her a bouquet of red roses and told her how beautiful she was. Kyle was so happy for them. He told them to go ahead and that he would join them later for he needed some breeze outside. Just then Eileen and Myron arrived she was so gorgeous in a white gown. She looked like a bride. Kyle did not want them to see him so he got inside immediately and sat at the table with Matt and Amelia. When everyone had arrived and settled inside, the prom officially started. "Good evening to you all, I'm pleased to see you all came. You all look elegant and really good. This is a really special night and i hope you all enjoy. I would now like to call forward all prom king and queen contestants to show us what they have got. The winners will be announced towards the end of this event," Ms Delia Jason announced. All the contestants including Matt and Amelia stepped forward to the dance floor. They began the performance that they had been rehearsing. Everyone was amazed at their dance and recorded them. They then swapped partners and Matty danced with Diana as Amelia danced with Tekashi. It was absolutely perfect. When it was over they all bowed and curtsied in uniform. Everyone stood up to appreciate them by tapping their spoons on their wine glasses. After refreshments and tons of fun, the floor was open to everyone for a dance. Kyle was the only one without a partner so Matty asked him to dance with Amelia as he sat back and watched and recorded them. Everyone enjoyed the last dance a lot. After the dance Ms Delia crowned Matt and Amelia as prom king and queen and everyone applauded. They were so happy for it had been their dream. Good music was played and later the prom was over. When people started heading home, Kyle spotted Myron looking really nervous. He kept making calls and Kyle suddenly had a bad feeling. Myron remained with Eileen as everyone left and so did Kyle and Amelia and Matt. Kyle had hinted to them to pretend to be busy n follow the two closely. Myron checked his phone and smiled then asked Eileen to leave with him. Kyle thought he just had a wrong suspicion and told his sister that they should go to their car. As they were about to leave the venue, a speeding black van arrived and out came armed men. Myron signaled Eileen to them and pushed her and one of the men aimed at her. Kyle was shocked and immediately got out of the car to save her. By the time Kyle could reach to where she was standing, several bullets had been fired at her and one went straight to her heart. Both Eileen and Kyle let out screams of pain. Myron got into the black van and they sped off. Eileen felt down with a thud and Kyle knelt beside her. Blood was oozing from her nose and mouth. She broke into tears as she saw the sorrow in Kyle's eyes even after everything she had done to him. Amelia called for an ambulance immediately and her parents. " Baby just hang in there okay, everything will be fine. You have to fight for our love's sake. I can't live without you," Kyle said as he held onto her tightly. " I'm sorry for everything i did to you Kyle. I was really mean to you after all the good things you did to me. Death would be the only suitable punishment for people like me. I deserve what has happened to me," Eileen said. " Please don't say that my love, i forgave you already. We can start over. Let's put all this behind us," Kyle insisted. " You are a really good person and you deserve someone who is perfect. You are just like an angel and I'm so lucky I even got the chance to date you. When I'm gone, promise me you'll find someone better. Someone who will love you dearly and give you all the happiness in the world. I will always watch over you and make sure you name your baby after me in future so I'll always be with you. I love you so much and I'll really miss you my love," Eileen said. "Don't stand at my grave and weep for I won't be there, I won't sleep. I will be in the thousands of winds that'll blow, I will be in the flowers that bloom. I will be in the birds that sing and in every lovely thing. I guess time wasn't in our favor, this isn't goodbye, this is simply see you later. Take care of yourself for me and keep all our good memories at heart so i will live on. Please don't forget me, I love you Kyle," She added. She then coughed and breathed her last. She then closed her eyes. Just then the ambulance and her parents arrived but it was too late. Eileen was no more. Kyle cried as he held her lifeless body and called her name. Everyone burst into tears. He was so heartbroken and blamed himself for not saving her like his father. He wondered why he kept losing everyone he loved. Her body was taken away to get prepared for burial as Kyle was left there shuttered. Matty and Amelia struggled to calm him down. He could not stop crying bitterly. He swore to find Myron and make him pay. Later Eileen was laid to rest and all her family,friends and schoolmates attended. It was so sorrowful. Kyle could not let go and he was so depressed. ***** Kyle was finally doing better after several therapy sessions. He had even started seeing Eileen everywhere in his illusion. Depression almost made him loose his mind. He was isolating himself from everyone and did not talk much. He always kept the pendant that Eileen had gifted him on his birthday with him and wished she would come back. He could not believe that the love of his life was gone forever now. However ,she would always remain in his heart. " Hey, Kyle , I'm now ready to leave. Come and take me to the airport," Amelia called out. Kyle dressed up and joined the rest of the family downstairs. Amelia had been accepted at Harvard Law School. Matty was also now going to Harvard for he had turned down the offer to go to Australia just to be with her. It was an emotional moment for the family as they were used to living together and now Amelia was moving out. Mrs Lucy was proud however, to see that her little girl had grown into an amazing young lady. She wished that her husband Nick was there to see their daughter's success. " Let's now get ready to leave so we don't get late for your flight," Mrs Lucy said to Amelia. She suggested that she could have one last karaoke with Kyle and take some photos and her mother agreed. After they were done with everything they all hugged with tears in their eyes. They then got into their mother's car and headed for the airport. On arrival, Amelia hugged her mother tightly and said goodbye. She then turned to her brothers and hugged them too. " I'll miss you all so much and I can't wait to see you again. I promise to call you everyday. When the first semester is over, I'll head back home immediately. Guys, take care of yourselves and don't forget that I love you so much," Amelia said. " We'll miss you more and take care too. We love you," they replied. They hugged for the last time and she picked up her luggage. She left to board the plane and they went back to their car and went back home. Amelia found Matty waiting for and they hugged and got into the plane. They sat next to each other and started planning their new life together. When they arrived, they bought their own apartment and settled down. They then went searching for their school schedule. Kyle also went to his room and started planning for his senior year. He wished for the best.
