33 Chapter 32: Some Kind Of An Electric Pulse

The Front Room, Earl's Diner, Temperance, South Dakota....

There was a good deal of chatter abound as Brick entered the diner as if what happened in the alley had never even occurred, he awaited Layla going back inside the back door before he briefly stepped toward a nearby wall and proceeded to urinate against it for the sole purpose of having something truthful to say to the boys when they inevitably questioned why he veered off and entered the alley instead of joining them right then. Brick had a defiant sense of freedom and hated the way his Uncles were always on about destiny and fate when it came to the day he'd eventually lose interest in his wild nature and settle down like his father had. Brick of course wasn't the type to go down easy and made it clear that even thought he was involuntarily subjected to the effects of the imprinting lure, he was still very much as wild and untamed as he'd been before hand.

Phoebe had been apparently glad to see The Howler M.C make it's return to Earl's diner as they were the more interesting lot that blew into Temperance like an ever changing wind bringing more business and even a bit of justice in their wake when they came to visit according to Sheriff Tillman.

"Hey boys, and Goldie was it...what can I get you?" she asked standing before their table just as Brick made his way toward the bar.

"Well don't you look like a cool drink of water." said Rooster with a charming grin. "Bet you beat the boys round here with a stick or two don't you?"

Phoebe smiled at the harmless banter as it had been a lot more tame than what she'd been use to from the idiotic high school boys whom had thought they were wooing her with their lack of wit and abrasive words.

"I've been known to do so a time or two sugar, now what can I get you?" she asked.

Gunner howled in amusement at her apparent sass and looked back at his menu.

All eyes fell upon their illustrious leader Brick as he entered the diner after having taken a leak so to speak in the alley. He made his way toward the restrooms in a bid to wash his hands and caught sight of Layla moving about in the back washing dishes like a woman on a mission. He smirked as he passed by, knowing all too well that she'd been trying her best not to think of him, specially when she had to look at him directly at her place of work.

Taz and Goldie were hugged up like usual in the leather booth and blocking a nearby window view with their constant make out session. Ironclad and Riff Raff were having a dispute about which soft drink brand was better while searching for something on the menu that was to their liking.

Gearhead was busy scooping out the vintage jukebox and what possible improvements he could make on it while Doc was trying to get him to play one of the songs on his list of what he wished to hear for the evening.

Brick ventured toward the bar, determined to get himself a drink and another glimpse of Layla as she worked. His attraction to her wasn't something he was prepared for, but he didn't deny it in the least. She was a beautiful young woman after all, with messy but long flowing brown hair, baby blue eyes that looked like a clear afternoon sky and she had a nice smile when she bothered to show it off.

He supposed he could have done worse in terms of someone to accidently imprint on, she appeared to have been a driven young woman with a good head on her shoulders. She wasn't too bad a kisser to be such a noob in that department and he could tell from the way she trembled when he touched her that she wasn't use to contact with the opposite sex. If he was honest, he kind of liked that about her, the unsure newness of getting involved with someone like her was quite a compelling thing despite the implications of what it meant for his chosen lifestyle.

Layla did her best to ignore Brick when she looked over at the counter and saw him patiently awaiting her arrival. He didn't seem to mind the wait as he knew all too well that she would have no choice but to approach him. She still didn't like that he smelled of cigarette smoke and even less that he tasted of old booze when they kissed out in the alley.

"What can I get you?" she asked in something of an exacerbated tone.

Brick smirked knowing all too well why she'd been annoyed.

"What's got your panties in a bunch Darlin'?" he asked with an arched brow.

Layla narrowed her eyes at him.

He had done this to her, getting her all hot and bothered via his stupid bad boy scent and kissing and he just left and pretended nothing of the sort had ever happened, not that she wanted people to know how easily he could get her to step out of her comfort zone and melt into his embrace. She simply didn't like the arrogant jerk getting a kick out of it at her expense.

Try as she might to ignore it, her attraction to the oversized brute of a man had been intense and involuntary to say the least.

"You asshole, now are you going to order or not?" asked Layla still seething.

"I'll have a cherry pie and nice big glass of milk." replied Brick with a flicker behind his eyes.

Layla knew the order was just another one of his series of digs at her expense, but she wrote it down any way.

"A large glass of milk and a slice of cherry pie...." she repeated as she wrote it down.

"No." replied Brick meeting her gaze. "I want the whole thing not a slice."

Layla looked at him in disbelief.

"You're going to eat a whole pie by yourself?" she asked shocked by what he was telling her.

"I don't see why not unless you plan on having some?" he replied.

Layla was a bit taken back by this, but resolved herself to complete his order nonetheless.

Brick watched her once more venture out of his sight as he sat at the bar pondering the tides of fate and why he'd only had the direct influence of an imprint when he came to the small town of Temperance, South Dakota of all places.

The boys seemed content and Goldie was busy sucking face with Taz so there didn't seem to be any undue rowdiness going on and he had elected to keep it that way. They may have been a gang of unruly werewolf bikers, but they could be civilized when they wanted to and there was the fact that Layla had been working at the diner long before they showed up and he wished to keep it that way.

The sixteen year old brought out his pie and large glass of ice cold milk as she watched him unceremoniously eat the pie via his large right hand taking care to put on a show of sorts for the curious girl whom had his undivided attention when it came to his apparent unruly desire where she was concerned.

For her part, Layla was unable to take her eyes off the brute of a man as he lapped up the cherry pie and his hypnotic grey eyes focused on her as if he'd been trying to make her uncomfortable while he ate like an unruly beast before her.

She barely managed to make her way back toward the kitchen before anyone noticed how she could hardly keep her composure when in his presence. Layla rolled her eyes as she slammed about pots and pans to shake herself out of her longing stupor only for her to find herself pinned once more against a nearby wall as Brick had swiftly followed her a needy look behind his grey eyes as he scooped her into his powerful arms and pressed his cherry stained lips into hers.

Startled by the fact that he'd been so bold, she wanted so badly to push him away and rush out the nearest exit, but something in her craved his touch as much as it had his kiss. Layla gripped his shoulders and pulled him closer moaning into his kiss for the first time as he let out a low growl indicating that the heat between them had returned in full force and seemed to take control of them like nothing they had ever known.

Layla had never before experienced something of this magnitude before hand as being so close to the brute that had been Brick Kenneally seemed to make her weak in the knees. Her mind was ablaze with thoughts that were not her own as images of many possibilities flooded her vision as the intensity of their efforts began to increase. Everything in her screamed for her to give in to the almost electric pulsing inside her that demanded he do the same. Brick appeared to have been fighting it as well caught up in the need as he found himself more aroused than he'd ever been before and he'd had his fair share of women prior to meeting Layla Quinn.

"Fuck..." hissed Brick trying his best to get ahold of himself despite his apparent arousal being well noted by the two of them. "Shit...I didn't mean to....fuck...you smells so good."

"S-So do you." replied Layla winded from their series of kisses.

Brick held her up with ease as his fingers seemed to be tangled in her long brown locks while he pinned her smaller frame up against the nearby wall via his own larger body.

"I can't explain it....but I can't seem to keep my hands off you." said Brick visibly shaken by his own actions. "Everything in me wants to claim you....to make you scream...make you mine."

His voice got deeper and his eyes began to flicker with a strange glow. To her surprise, Layla wasn't in the least afraid of him as she knew all too well that he had not intention of harming her in any way. She could feel his struggling against the burning sensation that filled him and his loins as he began to whimper with need.

"This never....happened before..." growled Brick still struggling against the beast that wished to claim the girl before him. "Never lost control.....I want...I want to fuck you here and now...but I know it's not what you want...not really...not here anyway...not now."

Layla was shocked he had known this.

"How did...?" she began only for him to capture her mouth in another intense kiss.

Layla could see Brick physically struggling against the impulse to have her there and then.

"You have to tell me to leave." he managed despite the agony he was feeling. "The will of the imprint is for your desires not mine...I have no control over it...but you do...tell me to go...and we can figure this out at another time...if not then I'll take you here and now as your body demands but your pretty little mouth must confirm it."

"What if I don't want you to go?" asked Layla. "What if I want..."

"You don't know what you are saying...you will doom us both to be bound to this thing if you give in now...ask yourself is that really what you want?....to be ravaged in a kitchen storeroom for your first time with a man?" growled an annoyed Brick. "As bad as I want you, I don't want that for you...not you...please...send me away."

"What if I want you see you again?" she asked feeling a sense of sickness and desperation at the very thought of him leaving for good. "What if you leave town again?"

"If I do I'll have no choice but to return." replied Brick seemingly embittered by the ordeal. "The imprint demands I be near you, always near you at your behest....now be a good girl and send me on my way."

Layla kissed him once more and he returned her kiss with passion unmatched.

"Okay." said Layla giving in to his demand at last. "Go cool off Brick, but I will see you later."

Brick let her down and immediately took off out the back door. He started running to get as far away from Layla as possible until he could control the beast that wanted nothing more than to claim it's mate no matter where they had been. His lungs burned and his muscles ached, but he didn't stop running, he knew that if he did, he'd try and take her like her mind begged him to and it wouldn't be good for either one of them.

Once he was gone, Layla crumpled to the floor the overwhelming sense of need suddenly dissipating as she tried to catch her breath and come to her senses. The odd pulse had been gone, but the link to the wild biker had remained no matter how far he saw himself running to get away from her.
