29 A Passionate Love Letter

"Bah! Don't say that again after you kissed me all over my face, even after I said that I'll answer your question."

She flared up once again and tried to poke me with her horns.

"That's your fault for saying it after the count ended, so don't go blaming it on me."

"Hmph! To think that I even thought you looked quite handsome for a second, with those dark eyes of yours. I must have been a fool for thinking about you like that, when you're just a shameless pervert who likes to bully girls." Astrid exclaimed and pouted as if she felt very wronged, which is something I didn't expect from the girl who looked so mature before.

It was almost like she completely shifted personalities. Or more likely that this was her true self, as everyone acts true to themselves when they're caught in dangerous situations, like she was in now.

"Oh...So you were attracted to my eyes." I said to myself.

"I didn't know they held such a charm for minotaur ladies like you."

"Eh!...N-No!...I didn't mean what I said...I-I wasn't supposed to say that!"

Realising that she had unintentionally confessed what she found attractive about me, she started stuttering.

But after a few seconds, she seemed to accept that she let the cat go out of the bag, and then looked at me with a gleam in her eyes, as if she were going to go all out, knowing that there's no turning back, and exclaimed with a passionate look on her face

"Yes. I find your eyes attractive. But so what!...Is it really that big of a deal to think that they look really pretty? I mean, who wouldn't find them attractive, when they possess a sort of magnetic charm that makes me want to endlessly stare at them all day and night?

Especially the maturity they possess, as if they've seen through all walks of life. And the way they glow even though they are as dark as the night sky....Who wouldn't be attracted to such dreamy looking eyes?! Tell me?! Who wouldn't?!"

By the time she finished her essay about why she found my eyes attractive, I had already let go of her horns and taken a step back; a little frightened by the manic I saw in her face, when I saw her describing my eyes.

She seemed very satisfied with the slightly scared look on my face, and crossed her arms under her chest since she couldn't wrap them around them due to their massive size and harumphed, as if she were happy she finally got one over me.

I could even see her ears moving up and down. And her tail was swishing left and right from the excitement that came from her victory.

But all the triumph she had on her face disappeared and was replaced by a look of absurdity, when I looked at her with a flustered expression, as if I were just proposed to by a girl out of nowhere, and said coyly while waving my hands

"Okay~ Okay~ I get it~ I know you love me~...You love me so much, that you want to stare at me all day and night. I understand how much you love me from that passionate proposal you just said.

But it's still embarrassing to get proposed to in a place where anyone can walk by at any moment. So let's quickly go into the room and discuss how we're going to go forward with our relationship."

After saying that, like a shy girl that just got proposed to, I cast her a coquettish glance from the side, like a newlywed wife who saw her husband, and walked into the class in a coy manner, leaving Astrid, who had a dumbfounded look on her face, wondering what just happened.

After a few seconds, she shook her head like an actual bull, knocking herself out from her shock.

Noticing that I wasn't in front of her anymore and was already in the old classroom, she quickly turned around and dashed into the classroom.

Once she was in, she closed the door and locked it, and then turned around to see me casually sitting on the teacher's chair, at the front of the empty classroom, which was very small compared to the other ones in the school.

It resembled any old classroom you would see in high school, with windows in the back and sides; that lit up the class, standard wooden desks and chairs, a teacher's table and chair on the pedestal, and a single green board.

As I casually sat on the teacher's chair, leaning a little back and playing with a wooden apple I found on the table, while facing the door where she was standing, Astrid was looking at me, as if she were debating whether she was going to ram me with her horns or stamp me with her hooves like an actual bull, for saying that she proposed to me, when both she and I clearly knew that she didn't.

But in my opinion, the best way to get back at me was to stuff my face into her pillows and waterboard me until I apologized.

Astrid looked really angry at the moment, but she seemed to have realized that she was a civil creature that could think and be rational, rather than an angry bull, so she shook her head and calmed herself down.

If only she'd worn a collar around her neck, with a bell on it, then she'd really resemble an actual bull with how often she was shaking her head.

Astrid stood straight, which made me have to lean back on my chair, even further to look at her face, as she was towering over me with her impressive figure.

Looking at us now, we'd probably resemble a student who was waiting after class to learn more about a subject and a teacher who was too lazy to teach and wanted to send her off.

But because of her stubborness, she refused to go home and was standing by her teacher's side, until he was willing to clear her doubts.

But the only problem was that the one who should be wearing the lab coat and looking more scholarly was her instead of me, while I bore no similarity to a teacher and rather looked like a deliquent student, with the way I rolled up my white shirt and didn't bother to wear the mandatory blazer.

With an indignant look and a small frown on her face, she asked as if she had been wronged and wanted justice

"What do you mean when you said that I proposed to you? When did I confess to such a thing?...The only words I've heard that are even close to a proposal, is when you said that the princess was your wife earlier...Other then that, I don't remember hearing any proposal be it from me or you." She said as a matter of fact.

"Oh really..."

I didn't look at her and played with the apple that was in my hand and slowly said

"Then was that huge love letter you narrated to me earlier? Was that all just a lie you said to deceive me?"

"What love letter?"

Astrid raised an eyebrow in confusion, as if she had no idea what I was talking about.

"Pretty eyes that possessed a magnetic charm~"

"Dark eyes that glowed even in the darkest night~"

"Eyes that had gone through the vicissitudes of life~"

"Eyes that you wanted to stare at all day and night; and a perfect face that would make all the ladies faint in delight~"

"...Do you not remember saying these words?"

I stopped playing with the apple, and looked at her face that was dumbfounded from seeing me act out the words she said, the exact way she said them earlier, be it the mannerism or the girly voice she said it in.

I then gave her a cheeky smile, as if I were asking, 'what are you going to say now?' which made her flustered, and say in a panic

"N-No!...I-I was talking about your eyes!...I was talking about how pretty your eyes were!...N-Not you! Definitely not you!"

"And I didn't ever say that you had a perfect face, or anything of the sort! So stop making stuff up when I'm already confused here!"

She pointed at me with an embarrassed look on her face, as if she herself were wondering why she said such passionate words.

She seemed to be really regretting saying those words back then, and she would do anything to take them back and erase them from my mind.
