42 Chapter 42 - Acceleration

Every competitor was observing the stone purified by the high-quality qi, but anyone taking the first step would instantly become others' common enemy. Only the strongest of them, the late-grade beasts, would have the guts to do it.

That was why all others were ganging up on them. The snow-white wolf was forced to flee from the battlefield because it was losing too much blood from the wound on its chest. However, the beasts, it was fighting against, weren't in any better conditions.

Most dominant was still the fierce boar. It crushed part of opponents, which were blocking the way to take the sparkling object. The wild boar pushed them back at the point that the last one in a row, a pitiful grey jackal was thrown into the giant crack behind.

Ulf could hear its miserable howls for a few seconds, till the yelling sounds merged with the roars coming from the underground, due to violent tremors of the earth.

It was when Ulf acted.

One late-grade beast ran away and another was covered by the many cuts, especially on its hind legs. As for the others, none of them were unscratched. Some died or were on the verge to travel into the netherworld.

That was why Ulf decided to take action as soon as possible before any additional competitor would join and use such a good opportunity to snatch the shining stone.

After taking the Aeglos and mobilizing inner qi, Ulf only left an afterimage behind and rushed forward. He was using enhancement on his eyes and legs, so drifted among the distracted monsters very swiftly.

The first thing Ulf preferred was getting close to the boar in the middle of the fight, ambushing it and striking the spear deen inside its left eyes. The black pig grunted painfully, but Ulf didn't pay attention to it.

The rest of the beasts were excited about seeing huge damage to the strongest competitor. But Ulf's next move alarmed them immediately when he leapt toward the main trophy of this brutal fight.

Several circumstances assisted Ulf in his succession. Even though all beasts were busy with the devastating tides of clashes, they always had one eye on the stone.

When Ulf moved at a very fast pace to get the forbidden fruit, every living being attacked him in combination.

However, after destroying the other corrivals, the beasts were far from the pick states. On the other hand, Ulf only had the minor marks or scratches and was also well relaxed. He was mostly bothered by the falling meteors and earthquakes when the beasts were destroying and killing each other.

When the wild creatures had problems using their max capabilities in agility, Ulf had the advantage of a smaller body size. Because of that, he easily penetrated the herd of the giant vivid barriers, dodged the upcoming destructive claws and grasped the small bright blue rock.

ROAR... ROAR...

Ulf heard many agonized screams from his back, which gave him even more motivation to run for his precious life.

His main reason for heavily wounding the wild boar was to finally exclude it from the potential pursuers. The difference in being chased by the injured middle grade or late gate beasts must have been huge.

After Ulf left, all capable beasts nearby for running followed him. According to his calculation, he needed an astonishingly large inner qi to gain a very big advantage from the beginning. After covering a couple of dozens of kilometres, there were possibilities that the persecutors would give up or go back for other opportunities.

Cultivating and studying mind cultivation, helped Ulf to develop some ideas about the additional uses of inner qi and forming trump cards by considering the circumstances. The ability to increase the speed of circulation of high-quality inner was one of them.

However, the exact time of use must be known or then not using it would be a better option. The consummation of inner qi would be alarmingly high, which would be a huge border for nor leader rank hunters.

It was his first time applying this technique, it was practical to use and needed more development for perfection.

The place worked accordingly. After more than half an hour, the beasts were left far behind and many of them could no longer be spotted. The last late-grade beast was blinded and maybe even dead due to the seriousness of the injury.

The result of this crazy escape was high-level fatigue in every part of his body. Ulf had feelings that continued like that and he would be overheated after another half-hour. In that state even moving the finger may be a very hard task.

The resting would help him restore the lost energy, but it had cons too. Seeing that Ulf suddenly stopped running, the pursuers could be motivated once again to catch him.

Eventually, Ulf reached the end of the valley. The distance, that he previously needed several hours to cover, was passed in less than an hour. However, the tiredness was reaching his bearable limit.

When Ulf was close to darting into the giant trees, the spiritual energy started to give the warning signals from the front side. He froze in a second, flashed and took a couple of steps backwards.

At the same time, Ulf moved back, the huge shadow jumped from the darkness and passed through the spot with lightning speed, where he was standing a while ago.

'If not inner qi, I would not be able to react in time and death was guaranteed for me.'

"Hah... so you have not given up and just have been waiting for the right moment." Ulf laughed sarcastically, in order to hide his nervousness.

In front of him was a mega size white wolf. Its front part was all red. However, due to its insane regeneration ability, the amount of blood leaking from the wound was lessening. Perhaps, even full recovery would be only a matter of a few days.

'You guys are real nutcases and cheaters gifted by nature.' Ulf sighed in envy.

Because of the bloodloss and unexpected crashed ambush, the wolf becomes a bit hesitant to attack. Though, it seemed that sensing the blue stone's pure qi helped the white creature regain its furious nature. But the wolf's weak state couldn't be hidden.

Ulf didn't have any advantages either. The amount of inner qi he used in this short period of time wasn't a joke. Unlike external qi, inner qi didn't give him painful sensations but made the body empty of pure physical energy. This drawback too was because of the huge difference between the body and mind cultivation.
