Halter shivered in the chilly winter air after he set down the spear he used to break the ice on the surface of the well. With the hole in the center made, Halter proceeded to fetch water. 

His breath formed clouds as he pulled the wooden bucket filled to the brim with cold water. Some splashed onto his pants as he placed the bucket on the ground, the cold seeping into his skin while he proceeded to fill the second wooden bucket.

As he straightened up and nodded to himself, Halter inhaled a deep breath. "Hmph–" Halter's face turned somewhat flushed from the effort as he focused on balancing the weight. In each hand, he carried the two wooden buckets, his fingers a bit stiff from the cold.
