As the Marchioness walked through the corridor, Madam Isabel watched and kept a close eye on her. She stood by the doors of her room, using her crane for support and a maid assisting her to maintain her balance.

Madam Isabel fell silent as the sound of footsteps faded away, the figure turning a corner and soon disappearing from sight. Her thoughts were racing a mile, could not stop thinking about her time spent with her daughter-in-law.

Or, should she start calling him her son-in-law instead?

There was no denying that she did feel the callouses on Mikael's hand. She had suspected something from the start, her motherly instincts kicking in. And in today's meeting, her suspicions were finally confirmed.
