After the break, she arrived somewhat late to class and discovered that her peers were chatting and paying closer attention to something. As Hinata noticed, they were staring at Kurogawa and Ogino, who were seated together in the back.

Her normal curiosity would have led her to ask about the circumstances, but she was depressed and not in the right frame of mind. She attempted to make hints about her feelings for Satoshi during their earlier meal, but he did not even seem to notice. Given that Satoshi seemed to only see her as a friend, she was hesitant to be honest with him and express her feelings. Doing that could potentially ruin their current relationship.

Before she knew it, the last period had ended, and club activities had begun. The entire day seemed to pass in a blur. Though she doesn't rank first among her club members, her decent speed is sufficient for her, as she does not intend to pursue a career in sports. She always looked forward to them because, when she was on the field, she forgot most of her worries and issues.

After working overtime, Kim parted ways with her coworkers and felt a little letdown that she had not had any spare time to spend with her boyfriend and covert lover, Jungwoo. It is quite evident from the company policies that romantic relationships between coworkers are strictly prohibited, and for good reasons.

The company had a falling out between lovers in the past. The once-loving couple, now enemies, were filled with hatred and resentment and would stop at nothing to spite each other. Both of them held executive positions, and their disagreements resulted in foolish choices that damaged the business, costing it a lot of money and nearly sending it into bankruptcy.

Since then, a strict policy prohibiting romantic relationships between coworkers has been in place, but Kim-Nari, who is in a leadership position and is renowned for being extremely rigid and inflexible, broke the rules. She had been seeing someone in the company covertly for some time.

She was aware that what she was doing was self-serving and hypocritical because she had previously punished some of her fellow offenders severely and even fired some without hesitation. However, she believes that her romance is unique since it would have no impact on the business; even in the unlikely event that she broke up with her partner, they would not act immaturely and cause conflict at work. She does not even give her boyfriend any preference in any way; he worked hard for everything he had, and they would wind up getting married because they are in true love.

She got into her car and drove to the neighborhood she lives in, and while driving, she saw a high school kid who lives not far from her house walking in the dark and decided to give him a lift. Even if he was not far from the neighborhood, she doesn't think it was safe for him to be walking alone at night.

*Beeeeeep*

"Get in." She parked next to him, rolled down the window, and beaconed to him.

He seemed surprised, and when he saw her face, his eyes widened a bit, despite his attempts to conceal it.

"Me?" He sounded doubtful.

"Yes… Get inside; I will give you a lift."

"Thank you, but my house is not far."

"I know, I live in the same neighborhood, and it is not safe for a kid like you to be walking around on his own this late."

"You do?" The surprise and skepticism on his face were evident. She doesn't blame him for not recognizing him; after all, she looks very different.
