22 Yokai

Takeru and Rossweisse, now wearing a black shirt, gray pants and black hoodie, is currenty standing on the shore of a large lake. The ground sorrounding the lake ia filled with pink colored grass.

"It's under this, right?" Takeru asked as he crouched down on the ground.

"Yes. There should be a shrine gate in the surface somewhere in the surface of the lake." Rossweisse nodded as she began to look around.

Then, a pale orange light can be seen appearing in the middle of the lake. Then, it divided into two. And divided into 4 and divided agin until it reached hundreds.

Hundreds of orange flames can be seen circling a shrine gate standing in the middle of the lake. The time is midnight so the flames turned into a beautiful lightshow.

"That's it. But, how do we go there?" Rossweisse asked Takeru who is watching the scene with amused eyes.

"Here." Rossweisse felt a warm feeling sorrounded her body. Then, she felt that her body is lighter.

"What's that?" She asked.

"A custom barrier. It allows one to walk on water, be lighter and a sphere will cover your body so the water win't get you wet." Takeru said as he stepped into the water.

The water rippled at the place where he stepped on. Takeru began to walk towards the shrine gate on the lake's center. Rossweisse followed and wanted to ask Takeru about the barrier but she refrained to.

'I can just ask him later.'

They reached the shrine gate that is sorrounded by hundreds of orange fireballs circling, as if dancing. Rossweisse is mesmerized by the sight.

"It's called Ryuto. A yokai." Takeru said.

"Let's go." Takeru controlled his and Rossweisse's gravity to pull them underwater. Due to the barrier, a sphere sorrounded them and prevented the water from getting near them.

Then, a huge figure went pass them. Then another. Takeru just smiled seeing this scene. Rossweisse, though, is scared of these.

"Wani, a lake yokai." Takeru said as he pointed at their figures.

They have long serpentine bodies, fins and resembled easters dragons but with cyan and turquoise color.

"They are all Tier 7!?" Rossweisse exclaimed.

"Yup. Still no match for me though." Takeru replied. He can just punch a universe into oblivion, what can those underwater lizards do?

"What are humans doing in our home?" A male majestic voice resounded despite being underwater.

"Where?" Rossweisse looked around, trying to see where the voice came from.

"There." Takeru pointed in front of them.

Then, a 60 meter long eastern dragon appeared in front of them. It have long, scaled body, serpentine tail, sharp teeth and claws, and have antlers sticking on the sides of its forehead.

"A tier 10." Rossweisse could only shake her head. She have a Tier 13 guy beside her.

"I'm Takeru, this is Rossweisse. I need a certain gem that can advance a magus's tier." Takeru spoke kindly.

"Hmm. I see that I can't peer into the depths of your power." The dragon closed its blue eyes.

"I cannot give it to tou as it is one of my only treasures, but I can give it to you in a condition." The dragon said, opening its eyes and stared at Takeru.

"What is it?" Takeru asked, curious.

"Make Yamata no Orochi leave this lake." The dragon said with anger evident in its voice.

"Hm. So it's Yamata no Orochi's mana I kept sensing earlier." Takeru said. He kept feeling a huge amount of sinister mana somewhere near the lake.

"Yes. I will give you two of my precious treasures and the gem for your help. Orochi had been killing the Wanis and eating them. If this continued, the Wanis may get extinct." The dragon said.

"Can't you do it yourself?" Rossweisse asked.

"Although I can defeat him, our battle will surely destroy the lake. Our sizes will cause the lake to be destroyed."

"Okay then. I'll come back later~" Takeru waved as he dragged Rossweisse into the lake's surface.

They reached the surface completely dry and safe. Rossweisse was still amazed by the barrier but did not show it. Takeru sensed that the sinister mana, probably Yamata no Orochi is slowly approaching their position.

"Let's kill the multi-headed serpent." Takeru casted a barrier on him and Rossweisse that will prevent any damage to be dealt to them. Literally an invincible barrier.

Takeru dragged their bodies with gravity and flew in the air swifly, heading to Yamata no Orochi. On the way, Rossweisse asked Takeru.

"How did you become this proficient in barriers?"

"Hmm? Uh...." Takeru thought for a while before answering.

"Hardwork, dedication, willpower and a little bit of talent." He lied. He won't reveal his system to anyone.

"Un. But how are we flying?" Rossweisse asked again.

"Gravity magic." Takeru answered.

"We're here." Takeru and Rossweisse landed on the ground. In front of them is a huge figure with many heads staring at them menacingly.

Yamata no Orochi is a gigantic serpent with eight heads and eight tails. It's body is covered in scales harder than diamond. It's blue skin can serve as a camouflage. Its size equals the giant dragon underwater.

"GRRRR! GWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" It yelled so loud that it may wake some people in the city far away. Takeru already covered the lake in a barrier that will contain anything inside, from sound to smell and used illusion to make it as if the lake is covered in fog and normal.

"Go fight it~" Takeru tapped Rossweisse's shoulder as he went behind her.

"EHH!! It's a Tier 10! TIER 10!" Rossweisse pointed at the giant multiheaded serpent.

"I'll protect you~" Takeru just pushed her forward.

"Damn it!" Rossweisse was covered in a golden light as her clothes changed into her valkyrie armor and a sword in her hand.

WHOOOSH!!

A gush of water almost hit her but she dodged in the last second.

"Damn you, Takeru." She muttered as she dashed towards Orochi's body.

"Ganbatte~" Takeru yelled as he used fire magic to create cheer poms.

WHOOSH!

BAM!

Orochi slammed on of its head towards Rossweisse who dodged by jumping. She held her sword overhead and chanted.

"The laws of the heaven, the justice for the victims, may god hear my word, cast punishment towards the condemned...

"HOLY JUDGEMENT!" Rossweisse slashed down at the the same time the head below her resurfaced after slamming underwater.

Her sword glowed in holy golden light and the light formed a huge sword above her. As she slashed down, the huge sword apparition followed and pierced one of Orochi's head.

"Nice~" Takeru yelled as he raised the flaming cherr poms.
