You have worked hard

It was a lady's bed chamber– that was clear at first glance. The light-colored decorations hanging from the walls, the little trinkets on display on the shelves, the dressing table top sporting an exquisite jade hairpin. Everything screamed of the feminine, the elegant, and the nobility.

But, it was also quite dark; the windows and doors closed, even though it was clear that it was still daylight outside, from the trickles of light filtering through the spaces between the translucent covers of the patterned paper windows.

A little maid opened the door of the chamber, carrying a small porcelain bowl full of some undefinable black liquid, and went towards the day bed set near one of the closed windows. A beautiful yet sickly-looking young woman half-sat-half-reclined on it, her form carrying a bone-deep lethargy as she covered herself with a thick blanket.

"Madam, please drink the medicine."
