Chapter 1: The Woman That Claimed To Be

Rumors were circulating. News that the Empress was infertile somehow pervaded across the Empire of Elaris.

"Felix! How did the news reach the entire Empire? Did I not tell you that it must be concealed no matter what the cost. They know she and I can't have an heir. What was even the point of this marriage? How am I going to fix this?" The Emperor was furious. He only cared about his heir. He only cared to have an heir capable enough to continue his legacy. The Empress couldn't help him. And now she is useless to him.

Felix began to speak, "well his majesty may look for a-a concub-"

"Your majesty! Apologies for the sudden interruption. There is another woman outside claiming to be the mother of your child."

Send her in, he said. The entire empire knew that His Highness and the Empress don't have a love relationship and barely even talk to each other. Now, that was being taken advantage of. She was one of the 7 ladies who claimed to be his child's mother since today. But the Emperor also knew that desperate times called for desperate measures.

A beautiful lady stepped into the room. She had big innocent yet deceiving eyes and was carrying a child that looked at the age of 2.

She began to speak, "Your Majesty, I know you don't believe me but this child really is yours. She dared to step closer to the Emperor and she showed him the baby's face.

The baby had the same rare emerald eyes that the Emperor had. Even the baby's hair was similar to the Emperor's, a lavish gold.

"Send the child in for the DNA testing"

"But Your Majesty-" Felix interrupted. He saw the Emperor's cold glare and decided to keep his objection to himself.

"I will escort the child to the testing room as you ordered." He soon left the room alone with the lady and the Emperor.

A smile that quickly transformed into a smirk appeared on the lady's face. She knew that she and her child would soon live in the palace while quickly destroying the life of the Empress.
