Jungle

There wasn't that many people at the café when we arrived, probably because its off-peak time right now. We decided to snag a nice comfy couch seat near the window.

The café was decked out in decoration. There are hanging pots with all kinds of plants throughout the room.

There were also some fake vines plastered on the walls to further hammering in the greenery look. Creating an interesting mixture between nature and concrete.

The tables were also made to look like tree stumps.

This whole nature theme is a bit tacky but I like it. Its not everyday you stumble across a place like this. I can see why Skylar really wanted to come here.

"Here you guys go. I'm gonna have a walk around and take some pictures of the Café."

Skylar passed us the menu on the table after she was done looking through it.

"Sure."

I replied promptly after grabbing the menu.

I opened the menu and noticed that Jaki scooted a little bit closer to see the menu better. Her leg brushing ever so slightly against mine. I feel tension and nerves build up inside me.

"Really? Jungle paradise?"

Confused I look down and see Jaki pointing at the menu.

It was the name of a tropical fruits smoothie.

"Hehe, not a fan of the cheesiness?"

I giggle as I see that Jaki is perhaps not quite convinced by the over the top jungle decoration of this café.

At the same time I also loosen up a little bit more. Feeling more relaxed. Its cute seeing Jaki react to the cheesiness of this café.

"I mean the vines and stuff are cool. But they might as well name a drink George of the jungle at this point."

"Haha. I mean I feel like that would fit right in."

"Maybe they should hire you to name the drinks."

"Maybe they should. I bet curious George would be a great name for a banana shake."

"Hahaha. Come on now, even they wouldn't be this tacky."

I keep flipping through the pages until Jaki and I both stare at a certain drink, a certain banana milkshake with a very tacky name.

We both burst into laughter. Amazed that they actually named a drink curious George.

"Haha. I guess you spoke too soon."

Jaki commented in-between bouts of laughter.

"We definitely should get this drink now!"

"Absolutely."

"Um what's happening here?"

Skylar came back to our table, very confused by our spontaneous laughter.

"Oh its nothing. We were just having a highly intellectual discussion about the names of the drinks."

"Well good to you guys having fun!"

Skylar plops down on the side of the couch making me scoot over to make room for her. At the same time pushing me much closer towards Jaki. Our legs practically glued together now.

My body is as stiff as a board. Afraid to move an inch.

I turn around and see Skylar mouth what seems to be you're welcome to me. Argh of course she is doing this on purpose.

The waiter soon came around to pick up our order. Skylar decided to order some hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Jaki and I both decided to get curious George, giggling slightly as we were ordering.

Since we were basically the only customers around the drinks came quickly, with Skylar's hot chocolate arriving first.

"Ooo it's good!"

"Do you guys want to try some as well."

Skylar offered some of her hot chocolate after she took a sip.

"Its alright."

Jaki denied politely.

"Same here."

"Well more for me!"

With that Skylar somehow gulped down her entire drink like it was beer and not freshly served hot chocolate.

She must have a throat made of steel.

The banana shakes arrived soon after Skylar has gulped down her hot chocolate.

Jaki and I both took a sip at the same time.

"Mmmmm!"

"Its really good".

I say while motioning towards Jaki.

"It really is."

"You know what I forgive the drink for being called curious George. All sins are now forgiven."

I giggle at Jaki's remark.

"This place is pretty good ay."

Skylar interjects as Jaki and I are talking about how much we like the banana shake.

"Yeah the drinks are delicious."

Jaki replies as she finishes the banana shake.

"I definitely want to come back again next time and try out the other drinks."

After hearing my response Skylar without missing a beat said:

"This place is quite far from where I live, so I can't come as frequent. But I think its not that bad for you two! So you guys should definitely come here after school whenever y'all want."

My face starts turning red. Damn you Skylar and your suggestions.

Even though it is exactly what I want, I am way too nervous and shy to ever say it.

"Y-yeah, maybe we could."

Did Jaki just stutter a little bit? It almost sounded like she was nervous as well. My heart races at this possibility.

"That'll be nice."

I shoot Jaki a quick smile before taking another sip of my banana shake to hide my face.

Hoping that she didn't notice the blush on my face.
