44 Hitting the Bottle

Being one of Sophia's oldest friends, it was Ethan's job to know whenever she was going through something hard.

Since she didn't have any living family, he was the one she went to when she came home from studying abroad, she confided in him when she had problems with Grant, and he was the one who was paying attention when she started acting unexpectedly because of the third roommate that had suddenly been dropped on them.

So when the mountain of a man disappeared, it was naturally up to Ethan to get to the bottom of the situation considering his roommate and closest friend seemed genuinely upset over how the situation had panned out. 

He had cleared up his schedule and when Sophia returned for the evening, Ethan was sitting on one of the couches with a bottle of amaretto on the light, mid-century coffee table in front of one of their couches. There were also two glasses full of spherical ice but neither one of them was filled with the dark brown liquid.
