Bear but also a fish
*Swish swish swish*
With a single swipe of its paws 3 sudden claw like attacks appeared within my senses, yet we're not visible to the naked eye.
I quickly dodge them effortlessly, teleporting away from my previous position. Looking back at where I was, I was slightly concerned seeing the deep gashes the attacks left.
Deciding to do the smart thing, I accelerate my speed to a massive degree, before darting towards the bear, the edges of the blades on my mouth started to glow with hyper energy as I manipulated the edge to vibrate rapidly.
I near the bear, aiming to slit his neck for an instant kill but…
As I approach the bear I finally am able to see him properly and… his eyes are following me perfectly, his muscles tense, and something inside me screams at me to not approach further.
Without a shred of hesitation I use hydro motion to stop myself dead in my tracks, and then fling myself backwards.
The moment in which I would be within his range, his paw does a sudden movement, so fast it becomes a blur, and then, when it misses, hitting the ground…
*boom!*
An explosion of earth and dust rises up, barely concealing the crater created by the bears punch, and then in the next moment, three similar explosions occur, each one getting closer to my location, narrowly dodging me.
'His perception must be off the charts! Even something 5x my level would have a tough time following me… and that ridiculous strength… and his ability seems to repeat the effect of an action that he does. Yet I don't think he has proper control of it…'
Looking at the craters created by the bear, that are somewhat close to me, yet not accurate as his level of perception would indicate. I can't help but be reaffirmed with my thought that he lacks control over this.
I close my eyes a moment, trying to think of how to murder this bear…
'So I need a way to get around his abnormally high perception… I doubt he wouldn't be able to sense me even out of sight… I can't go head on since his attack speed is ridiculously high as well… and with his size I doubt any ranged attacks I do would cause any harm, since I'm rather lacking in that now…'
I continue to think, before a sudden though strikes me…
'It couldn't be that… well it's worth a try…'
I teleport again, just as the bear sent another punch at my location, causing another eruption of dust.
Again I dart at him, but I had yet to activate my energy on my blades.
Without him noticing I approach rapidly from a blind spot and just as he was within my range…
*SSHHHHHVVVV*
With just a moments notice I activate my energy and slice at his back before teleporting a good distance away.
Good thing too, as just before I teleported another Sebastian punch was thrown my way. Seeing my attack work, my theory was confirmed.
The only difference between that previous attack was that I used a certain technique, Dead calm, of course I only cancelled out my own currents so it didn't cause me to loose to much energy.
Anyways, I had this thought cross my mind a few times but this encounter just confirmed it. Every single creature in the seas and oceans of this world ,or at least most of them, can detect currents in some way. They might not be as proficient as me or the bull-fish but they can still sense them enough to be able to detect someone right behind them.
Deciding to show off, despite my current situation, I reactivate dead calm, before disappearing from my spot.
I reappear right next to the bear this time, with my blades already vibrating. Just as he swiveled on the spot to pummel me I sliced him before teleporting to another of his sides, narrowly dodging the punch.
And like that, our little dance goes on for a while, I teleport and strike him, and he turns to pummel me, over and over…
Despite my high speed, decent magic, and genius mind, it doesn't help me whatsoever with getting through his iron thick defenses. Honestly, even if the strikes I'm leaving leave gashes, they're rather superficial, not going any deeper than his muscles.
So instead, I opt to aim at rather weak places, although I don't know that anatomy of a bear, i just assume that some things cross between humans and bears and decide to go for the veins.
And well… I'm not sure if it worked or not.. although he is starting to bleed out… I'm not sure if it's cause I hit a vein or because of the sheer amount of wounds on his body.
As the bear continued to bleed out it got more and more vicious, yet slowing down considerably.
I passed the bears face in one of my attacks only… I noticed a certain look in his eye, and I decided I want no part in it.
I teleport a distance away, keeping an eye on the bear he didn't even seem to notice. With a slight craze in his eye he strikes to ground with a barrage of punches, each stronger than the last.
Slightly confused I continue to watch, and then…
*BOOOOMMM*
[MERBEAR murderd!
LEVEL UP, half xp due to indirect kill.

(A/N: okay so, maybe I forgot this and added it after the chapter was already done, maybe I didn't, who knows?)
With a water-shattering boom, the bear suddenly explodes into a vibrant blood list, the immediate surroundings completely destroyed, and that's when it hit me on what this fucker was trying to do...
Using his ability, he did a barrage of punches, and than delayed each repeat so they'd be at the same time, before centering the repeats on himself.
Essentially, the bear committed suicide, hurray!
Well, after spending a bit of time thinking about the crazy bear, I decided to put it behind me, as trying to understand him would get me nowhere.
After getting over the bear, I shift its fishy gaze over to the, until now, forgotten fish statue.
I near the statue, and again, I feel a strange connection with it, and yet...
I spend the next hour investigating it, and nothing works to... Well... Do anything with it!
Maybe it's just a normal statue and my mind is playing with me? Gah, whatever...
Shoving the statue to the back of my mind, I swim off, deciding to not bother with strange statues anymore.

A/N: hey hey hey, it's me. Sorry for the lack of releases over the weekend buuuuttt...
To be perfectly honest, I'm just not motivated enough or productive enough on the weekend to drop chapters. I usually write these during class, so yeah...
I probably would've forced myself to write but I was feeling a bit reluctant to upload when webnovel is bugged right now... Yet a few days have passed and it hasn't been fixed yet, so oh well.
Other than that... The statue might become important later if I remember it... And...
After I get this fic to a good amount of chaps... However many that is... I want to release some projects that I'll be working on in private.
I have 5 fics in total that I'm working on atm. This one is my main one while I have another one on webnovel that's on hiatus for the moment. Then I have three that I'm working on alone just when I feel like it.
There's also that other one, but we don't talk about the other one :)
About the three I'm working on in private... Those are the ones I eventually also want to release... One of them will be about a certain genderbent true vampire... Another one will be about grand admiral marina... And the last one is about a reincarnation... The only thing I can tell you about the last one is that the mc will look like a suicidal heroine.
(If your wondering about who I'm talking about then. The first one is genderbent Alucard from hellsing, the second one is grand admiral marina from guardian tales, and the last one is mana from 'The devil is troubled with the suicidal heroine')
Just to be clear here, me saying this doesn't mean I'm going to drop this fic just to write new ones. I'm not an asshole. I also don't plan on rushing this one, as I'm content with my uploads currently.
I won't be uploading anything new on we novel till probably... Well I was going to say 'after '??? Arc' but I haven't even said my plans on the arcs yet so...
Next chap I'll tell you about the arcs I want to write.
