4 The council of children.

I imagined for some inexplicable reason that being in a medieval fantasy world children would grow mature faster, considering they get married earlier and become lords and ladies.

"Seriously, this is just... wow," I muttered.

Looking at the chaos unfolding, I see a boy likely around the tender age of seven or eight with a light brow skin tone and white hair, trying to stop two girls of similar age to me, from lunging at each other. It was apparent who these children were.

"Laenor and Laena Velaryon," I silently acknowledged.

My gaze shifted to the other shouting girl, with a pale complexion and bright lilac eyes

'and of course our very owner Princess Rhaenyra'

"My mother is going to be a queen ten times better than your father could ever be," said Laena thrashing her arms around Laenor trying to reach for the princess.

"Your wrong, my father was the rider of Baelerion the Blackdread," she said taking a step back from the swinging girl.

"Everyone knows the person with the stronger dragon would be king" she continued.

My face quirked sideways 'How...Ironic for you to say that ' I thought.

The knight who had guided me here appeared amused by the spectacle. As the chaos unfolded, he cleared his throat, capturing the children's attention.

Upon noticing me glancing sideways, he addressed the children, "Princess, lord Leanor, Laena, this is Durin Baratheon."

Seizing the opportunity, I introduced myself, breaking the tension.

"Greetings, it's a pleasure to meet you all. I'm Durin Baratheon," I said.

"A Baratheon," said Laena, stepping forward and giving me a once-over.

"Mother is half Baratheon, isn't she?" she said asking Laenor the last part

"Yes, she is. So, Durin," Laenor's voice brightened, "you're our cousin."

I nodded In confirmation.

This was honestly a weird experience, seeing Laena and Rhaenyra just acting like children and not worried about who is plotting what, and who will inherit the throne...scratch that, they were just arguing about who will be the next ruler.

Observing the girls, one wore a contented smile, while Rhaenyra, with her intense gaze, seemed to fixate on me.

"Is there something on my face princess?" I asked, which for some reason surprised her.

Her puzzled expression rendered her usually plump cheeks somewhat endearing. "You look strange," she commented, though it didn't sound all that charming.

In my previous life, I wouldn't have been labeled the most attractive man, yet neither was I entirely unremarkable. Apart from this second chance at life, I'm particularly proud of my improved appearance. While I may still be young, the signs are there. Her description, however, struck an odd chord.

So without even meaning my intrusive thoughts won "Well, you look like a blank piece of parchment." The knight who was, to this point standing behind me chuckled silently.

Looking at Rhaenyra she suddenly became red and looked like she would explode but she did something I was not expecting she stomped forward and kicked me in the nuts.

"Augh"

Time seemed to slow down as I felt my sorry excuse of manhood be kicked. I doubled over in agony, my breath catching in my throat, unable to process what had just transpired. Rhaenyra huffed and left the room without even giving me a glance.

"Okay, I deserve that," I managed to wheeze out amidst my gasping for air, accompanied by the peals of laughter from Laena and the supportive hand offered by Laenor.

---------------

"Stupid"

"Stupid"

"Stupid"

Rhaenyra was walking furiously to her family chamber. Everything had been fine before the stupid boy showed up, even though she had been arguing with Laena it was normal. They had arguments and disagreements almost all the time they met.

But then the boy comes into the room, she was shocked when she saw him. He had reminded her of her own family, because of his unique red eyes. People called her the realms delight because of her looks, so seeing a boy look like that, she didn't know what to say. So she called him strange, she didn't mean to, but still, him calling her a parchment was uncalled for and mean.

"Stupid"

She said one more time walking the corner to where her family's chamber was located, and the Kingsguard right behind her. But before she rounded the corner someone spoke behind her.

"Who are you calling stupid, hmm"

It was Daemond Targaryen, who was coming back from admiring the melted castle.

"Kepus!" Rhaenyra ran to her uncle before he lifted her up to his shoulder.

"What have you so mad niece" Daemond asked his usual smirk plastered on his face. Rhaenyra too embarrassed to tell her uncle what happened just looked away and mumbled something.

"I've told you many times to not mumble, speak up" Daemon admonished his niece before she recounted what happened, of course leaving the part where she thought he looked cute. Daemon had a glint in his eyes before he put her back down.

"Why don't you take Rhaenyra to the chamber king's guard, I have some business somewhere" Rhaenyra knew her uncle well enough to figure out what the business he was referring to was.

"No kepus" she said grabbing his arm tight.

"What do you mean no, did he not insult a princess," asked Daemon, creasing his brows in confusion.

"He did...but" Rhaenyra suddenly went quiet enough to get Daemon to take a knee and look her in the eye.

"Did he do something else..did he HURT YOU" Before Daemon could jump to anymore conclusions she blurted it out.

"I KICKED HIM IN HIS MANHOOD" She screamed without meaning to.

Both Ser Lorence Roxton of the king's guard and Daemon were Baffled, it didn't take long for it to settle on Daemon's mind before he burst into laughter.

"Well done Rhaenyra, that'll teach him not to mess with a dragon" Daemon wasn't the only person who was laughing, ser Lorance tried to hide it but his charade was breaking with the minor fake coughs he was doing.

Before Rhaenyra could continue, The room behind them was opened by a guard. Behind the guard, a small bundle ran toward Daemon, before he could react, the bundle of white crashed into him.

"Kepa!"

Daemon not expecting to see his daughter, was baffled. He heard a cough and glanced at the door to see his bronze bitch standing there.

"Visenya," Said Daemon with tenderness in his voice.

looking at his daughter whom he had thought to have left in Runestone, he was pleasantly surprised. His reunion was ruined by the bronze bitch speaking.

"Husband," said the Lady Rhea Royce

"Wife," Daemon said with venom

" Why are you here," continued Daemon holding Visenya in his arms.

But before Lady Rhea could answer, Viserys and his wife Aema came out of the same room.

"I asked her to come," said Viserys, beckoning his daughter to his side.

"I need all the support I could get, and having Lady Rhea here would strengthen our stand with the lords and ladies of the vale" Daemond seemed off put by the idea of his wife showing support.

"But there is no need for that, we already have the support of the Arryns because of goodsister" Daemon said.

And it was the truth. There was a Lord Paramount supporting Viserys's cause, rendering her presence unnecessary. However, Daemon understood his brother all too well. Despite not being one to skeem – quite the contrary – But he still knew Viserys was willing to do anything for their family's well-being, and Daemon admits that leaving Visenya in the Vale had been taking a toll on him, it was obvious what Viserys was doing.

"Kepa are you not happy about the surprise" It was Visenya who spoke this time.

The girl was only two name-days and yet she could speak so well, Daemon thought a smile gracing his face"I am happy Visenya, truly" He said completely ignoring the existence of the bronze bitch.

"Can we go see Caraxes, Kepa?" asked Visenya rubbing her eyes looking tired.

Daemon looked around seeing the family looking at him, he just ignored them and walked into the chamber.

"How about we do that tomorrow, Qēlos"

'yeah this is worth it' Thought Daemon.
