She pulled back, her eyes wide with shock and wonder. She had never felt anything like this before. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she took in the moment her mind went blank as all she could focus on was the sensation of his lips against hers.

Did she just kiss the handsome stranger she met only a few hours ago?

Alexa felt a wave of emotions wash over her. She was excited and giddy, but also scared and nervous. She was new to this emotion. She has had a few crushes and romantic flings In the past but had never felt this way until now. Why?, why did she feel this way?, could she be spellbound by those rare golden pearly eyes of his?

He leaned in to kiss her again, eager to explore the warmth of her lips again. However, she was quick to react this time and gently pushed back. Lucian let out a smile, he wouldn't push too hard. He could tell she needed time to adjust and accept her feelings for him. She was sharp-tongued and stubborn, winning her heart would take more than a kiss.

He took her hands and placed a soft gentle kiss on the back of her hand. Alexa felt her heart flutter at his warm romantic gesture. He was too good with this she thought, certainly he must had have enough women to practice on to get this....perfect. She couldn't tell if he was being a playboy flirt or was actually smitten by her.

"Why did you kiss me?," She asked feigning annoyance. She needed to know his motives, was she some whore to fuck or someone who had stolen his heart?

"Isn't it obvious?," He told with a smile leaning into her perked-up ear to whisper, "I'm in love with you sunshine,"

"Eh?" She gasped and stared at him with wide doe eyes, Was he being serious?, had she heard him correctly?, Did he say those words to get a reaction from her?, perhaps another kiss?, were Alexa's thoughts

"Stop...stop joking, it isn't funny," She adorably glared at him. Her expression brought warmth to his cold heart. She was perfect in every way. Her breath felt like a gentle breeze on a warm summer day, caressing his skin with a delicate touch. Her face was as radiant as the sun setting on an endless horizon, painting the sky with colors that are both vivid and soft.

His love for Alexa felt like a force that filled his broken heart and cursed soul, a feeling that couldn't be contained within the boundaries of words or pictures.

"You have stolen my heart, Alexa, you did so the moment we met, the second our gaze locked path, I knew I was yours," He confessed with a look of adoration that melted her heart and filled it with warmth as she stared at him, paralyzed to move and overwhelmed to speak.

"You are everything I want sunshine," He continued running his thumb over her cheeks, "The universe always has a way of working things out, don't you think so?," He asked with a smile earning a puzzled look from Alexa

"Huh?,"

"Although I have a condition that prevents me from exposure to sunlight with you next to me, I wouldn't need the radiance of the sun," He paused before adding, "You are my little sun, Lexa, my warmth and light,"

"But...but we just met," She shook her head refusing to give in to her emotions. Gosh, his words really caught her off guard and ignited desires, wild and sinful desires, "How can you love someone you just met?,"

"Love at first sight?," He cleverly told earning an eye roll from Alexa who couldn't help but blush. She gazed deeply into his eyes and found no sign of mockery or jest, she could tell he was sincere. He was either a man crazy in love or a devilish good liar.

Lucian couldn't tell her the reason for his intense and certain emotions was the mate bond shared between them. He couldn't reveal his true identity yet. He wasn't sure how she would react to the fact he was a giant cursed creature of the night with an appetite for blood consumption.

"You are unusually quiet sunshine," He told with a smirk.

"I. I don't.."

"You don't have to respond Lexa," He said cutting her off, "Take all the time you need, but not too long, I won't wait forever," He told earning an eye roll from Alexa who felt her heart skip a beat and her stomach flutter with butterflies.

The sudden interruption of a stranger walking through the doors diverted their attention. Lucian gazed darkened at the sight of the man at the door.

"Mason!" He gritted his teeth and clenched his jaws at the familiar sight. It was the figure of a man he had crossed paths with countless times. A man who had dedicated his to haunting his kind and ridding them of their existence. The Lycan hunter.

"What the fuck?," Alexa mumbled with a frown. The Lycan hunter wearing a black hat was a formidable sight to behold, clad in a billowing black cloak that seems to swallow the light around him, his middle-aged mysterious appearance was enhanced by the assortment of weapons sheathed at his hip that glinted menacingly in the shadows.

What couldn't possibly bring this stranger which she assumed was a bounty hunter to the small town of hallow grove?

"Excuse me sir, what can I help you with?," Alexa walked towards the stranger with Lucian strolling behind, his sight and hearing alerted.

"How did he find us?," Lucian thought with a frown, he was certain the Lycan Hunter, Mason Salvador was in town to hunt him and his brother. However, he couldn't understand how the Mason had successfully tracked them to town, he was certain he left no trails behind.

Mason's piercing blue eyes scanned his surroundings with practiced vigilance until they settled on the beautiful figure behind Alexa. His lips pulled up into a smirk revealing his golden front teeth which looked rusty than gleaming.

He walked towards Alexa with a calm aura, never letting his guard down even for a moment. As he moves, his footsteps were silent, as if he is one with the shadows themselves. At first glance, one could tell he was a hunter who has faced many fierce adversaries in his time and is more than ready to take on any challenge that came his way.

"I'm sorry for intruding but I need help locating the sheriff's station," He said with a harmless smile, stealing a glance at Lucian every once in a while

"Oh, I haven't seen you before in town," She said crossing her arm over her chest. Mason's gaze sullied staring at the beautiful young woman before him, thinking she was their next victim. The two infamous Klaus brothers had a reputation for feeding and slaughtering young women who fell for their devilish looks and charm.

It was only a matter of time before she ends up dead, drained of blood as his daughter was if he didn't act quickly.

"Oh I'm an investigator, I investigate crime scenes and hunt the culprit," He replied, "Word is four teens were found dead this morning, I'm here to help catch the murderer... if it turns out to be wolves, I'll happily kill those little dirty fuckers and collect my reward," He said turning his gaze to Lucian.

Although his brother Lucifer was the one responsible for his daughter's death, it didn't lessen the hate he had for Lucian. He couldn't wait to behead the cursed lycans and keep their skulls as a trophy.

"Seems more like a bounty hunter," She mumbled, however knowing the town was in a time of crisis and needed closure, she spoke, "The sheriff's station is three blocks away from here,"

"Ah is that so?, thank you miss?,"

"Alexandra," she replied

"I'm Mason, Nice to meet you ma'am, and who's the pretty boy over there?," He said locking his gaze on Lucian who smiled at his mind games

"Lucian sir," He answered

"Well, miss be careful of this one, seems like the type that bites," He told vaguely earning a frown from Alexa

"I'll keep that in mind,"
