House of Lovers

"Wait, I'm going to be the only male in the house?! What's the worst that could happen?" The House of Lovers is a story about the protagonist who transfers to his new university in Japan and he is set to move into a share house with seven other women. Each women has their own separate personality and will make the protagonist's life fairly interesting. Some of the women aren't really fond with him while the others seem to welcome him with open arms. "Hopefully, I won't get viewed as a pervert around here...that's the last thing I need..." In this new life of adventure and women, the moment he opens the door...is the moment his love life takes a turn. This book has no magic whatsoever, and it has multiple stories and I'll even add a secret story at the end. Once all stories are written, you don't have to read them in any specific order. I hope you enjoy!

First Day in the New Life

The first day of my new life starts today. It's currently 8:45 and I'm all prepared to go to school. I walk downstairs and noticed Suki, Aki, Momoko, and Sayaki.

"Good morning." I greeted.

"Good morning..." Sayaki greeted back.

"Mornin'!" Momoko smiled and greeted.

"Ugh." Suki rolled her eyes.

"Hey." Aki crossed her arms.

I really felt greeted this morning. Sarcasm. Suki and Aki didn't really approve of me living with them and I really felt it. Sayaki was a little neutral albeit she still doesn't trust me, and Momoko didn't really mind.

I remembered that I couldn't walk with them to school. "I'll uh...just wait here. I don't mind being a few minutes late."

"Right." Sayaki said then walked to the door.

"See you at school." Momoko said then waved.

Suki and Aki walked off without a word. All four of them walked out the door and I was all alone. I decided to sit down in one of the stools in the bar area. After a few minutes, I heard someone walking downstairs. I looked up from my phone and noticed it was Rena.

"Good morning, Rena." I greeted her.

"Huh..? Archer, you're still here?" Rena asked.

"Yeah. The no walking to school with you rule." I answered, "I'm gonna wait here until all of you heads to school."

"Come on. I can't have you be late your first day. You can walk like a few blocks behind me. That way no one thinks we are walking together." Rena said and walked to the counter and grabbed her keys. She walked to the door and left.

I waited a minute before getting up and leaving the house as well. I walked behind Rena and had my hands in my pockets. With this no walking together rule...well basically do anything together rule, it was pretty hard to make friends with any one of them. The only way I was gonna be able to be their friend is through school and even that was gonna be impossible.

After a few minutes, I made it to school which wasn't that far of a walk. I looked at the building and smiled. "Yes...my first day at Akechi Blossom University. ABU!"

I sounded like I was in a movie. I literally just realized how much of an NPC I sounded like. I walked onto the campus and looked around at the courtyard. So many people here who are all starting their first days. I couldn't wait to make friends with all of the students. There's a lot I could learn from each of the students.

I texted some of my old friends and sent them a picture of the university I was at. "We did it, boys. The dream is here!" I said as I recorded myself at the University. I sent the video in the group chat then looked around. Everyone seemed to already have their friend groups set. I noticed Momoko, Aki, Sayaki, and Suki sitting together. Rena was sitting with her group of friends since she was a Third Year. I didn't see Orime until I noticed her sitting with Mitsuki and some other girls.

I just sat alone and decided to wait until the bell rang. We all headed inside of the building and I walked to the front office to get my schedule for the semester. As I walked to my class, I noticed the professor standing outside of the class and greeting the students. I joined in the middle of a semester but knowing my ability to learn quickly, I should be able to understand the concepts pretty efficiently.

"Ahh you are the new student of the university?" The professor asked, speaking japanese.

"Yes. I am the new student." I nodded, answering back in Japanese.

"Oh? You know how to speak Japanese?" She asked, surprised at my ability to speak Japanese.

I smiled and nodded at her. "I've been practicing a lot, so I should be able to hold my own here."

"I see I see, well come on inside. I'll allow you to introduce yourself." The professor said.

I nodded and walked into the class. Some of the students looked at me and I heard some whispering. As I looked in the class I noticed I had my History Class with Aki, Sayaki, and Momoko.

"Good morning students! Today we have a new student! Let us all welcome our new peer!" The professor smiled at her students.

"Welcome!" The class said.

"You may introduce yourself." The professor said.

"Hello everyone, my name is Archer Gray. I come from the USA, California to be exact. I am excited to become your friend and learn from you all." I said and bowed.

"Wow, he can speak Japanese?" One of the girls said.

"He's kinda cute." Another one of the girls said.

"The USA, that's pretty far." One of the guys said.

"I can't believe we have the same class as him." Aki said.

"It won't be that bad." Momoko smiled.

"You're too nice. Watch he's gonna end up trying to score points on you if you keep up this nice attitude. Guys love to take advantage of some women." Aki said to Monoko.

Aki and Suki were two women who weren't afraid to show their distaste for me. Sayaki and the other women were either neutral or didn't mind me being around.

"Alright, Mr. Archer...you can take a seat with Aki's group. The group is Aki, Sayaki, and Momoko." The professor said.

"Okay." I nodded. I walked over to their row, taking the stairs up to their row then sat down in the empty seat.

"Let this be known, this will be the closest you'll ever get to me. Don't talk to me, don't look at me, don't even look associated to me." Aki said.

'What a bitch...I didn't even do anything to her and she already hates me.' I thought to myself.

"Alright class! Today we are going to be talking about something fun! The Sengoku Period of Japan! How many of you have ever played the Samurai Warriors games, show of hands." The professor asked and raised her hands.

A few of the students, including me, raised our hand.

"Yeah it's pretty fun, and surprisingly historically accurate. Let's get to talking about the history of ancient Japan dating all the way back to year 1467." The professor said.

History was a lot more fun than History class in America. The teacher sounds like she actually loves her job and even has the class invested in the lessons. I was actually awake and listening to the lessons. Since it was a new lesson, I didn't have to use anyone's notes.

The bell rang and the first class was over. I looked at my schedule and noticed my next class wasn't until 11:15 which was in an hour. My next class was Gym Class. I used this time to explore the school and learn my way around. The university had a store, a massive library, a study area with individual pods for students to study in but it was mainly used by Fourth Years and up. The campus was honestly like one huge plaza, just smaller.

I looked at the time on my phone and decided to make my way to Gym Class. We all met up outside since gym was primarily held outside. I noticed some of the guys watching the girls running in the track.

"God, Aki is so amazing! She's so fast and beautiful!" One of the guys said, practically drooling over her.

"She's the girl's star athlete! She does it all! Tennis, bowling, softball, volleyball, even golf! She's known as Number 1 of ABU for a reason!" Another guy said.

I wouldn't have guessed Aki was the girls' top athlete. Based on what I see, however. She's very proficient when it came to track and even set multiple track records. I decided to go over to the track where the other guys were and talk with the coach.

"Hello, Coach Hidei. I'm Archer Gray, the new transfer student." I said, introducing myself.

The coach looked at me and smiled. "Hey there, Archer. How's things been for you on your first day so far?"

"Pretty chill so far. It's very different than American Education, but I like it so far." I answered.

"That's good. So do you want to run with the other guys? We haven't had an American here before so it'll be a good chance to see how fast you can run in today's gym class." The coach said.

"Yeah I'll give it a shot." I shrugged and walked on the track.

"Alright! Archer will be joining today's session! Today we will try to set some new PBs alright?" The coach called out.

"Yes sir!" The other guys said.

"Look at that, the new guys testing his luck against the others who's already been running. Do you think he's fast?" A girl asked.

"I-I don't know." Mitsuki said as she watched.

"Alright! First up! Ietsuna and Kanjiro!" The coach said.

The two men got ready to race against each other on the track. They were doing the 100 meter dash and the coach was testing everyone's speed so he could see who would enter the class race for this year. The coach fired his starting pistol at the sky and the two guys sprinted off. Within a few seconds, Kanjiro past the mark.

"14.3 seconds. A new record for you and 14.7 for Ietsuna, also a new record. Looks like you boys are getting faster!" The coach said. "Alright, let's get Archer and Raidon."

"Look at that, Archer is going up against Aki's ex." The girl pointed.

"Raidon? Isn't he one of the fastest guys there?" Mitsuki asked.

"Yep. His recent record was 13.6. I wonder if he's gonna set a new record for this time." The girl said.

Raidon and I got ready. We heard the starting pistol fire and we both dashed ahead. I looked at Raidon and noticed how fast he was. I grunted and began to try and catch up with him, but he was too fast for me to keep up.

"13.2. A new record. Good job Raidon." The coach said. "Archer, 14.0 isn't bad at all! You're pretty fast, son!"

"I used to be on the track team back in my senior year. Wow it's so much different here. Everyone here is pretty damn quick." I said. "The scores are normally 14.9 to 16 where I'm from."

"Well here in ABU, we take our gym classes pretty serious. Those who participate usually are the ones who make teams and stuff like that." The coach said.

"I can see that." I said and looked at everyone. Some of the guys seemed to be impressed by my score.

The other guys also did their dash and after everyone was recorded, we either got the option to run the track and listen to music for the rest of period or hang out somewhere around the gym area. I decided to run the track since I wanted to stay fairly fit.

The bell rang once again and we all went to the locker rooms to freshen up. I made a few friends during gym class and seemed to get along with most of my peers. It was time for the lunch, so I made my way to the cafeteria. I saw Aki and Sayaki frequently during the school hours. The prices for lunches was pretty nutritionally balanced and looked really good. I got spicy chicken curry with a side of vegetables and green tea. It looked so much better than American lunches although I'll miss the dry spicy chicken sandwiches I always end up smacking on because it's irresponsibly good.

After getting my lunch, I sat at one of the tables alone and ate alone while looking at my phone. As I ate, I noticed someone sit at the same table. I looked up from my phone and noticed it was Rena.

"Rena?" I asked.

"Hey, so how are you liking your first day?" Rena asked.

"It's pretty good so far. Made a few friends. Any reason in particular you're sitting with me? Half of you treat me like I ran over the family dog or shot the family cat with a shotgun nine times." I said.

"Well I know I'm not treating you like some super villain." Rena said with a slight laugh at my remark. "Aki and Suki kinda don't like guys. Aki recently broke up with her ex boyfriend and Suki just thinks all guys are perverted."

"And you?" I asked.

"I'm pretty okay with boys. I just have to do things that'll have everyone comfortable." Rena said.

"I felt very welcomed on my first day. I definitely loved the part where I was outcasted my first day." I said, with a sassy passive aggressive tone.

"Yeah I bet you did." Rena chuckled and ate a bit of her food. "Mmm. So what is the rest of your day looking like?"

"I have Art from 1:30 to 2:15, Math from 2:30 to 3:30, and English at 3:45 to 4:25." I said.

"Ahh, I see. I guess I'll be seeing you at home since my classes end at 4:10." Rena said.

I nodded and ate my lunch with Rena. I didn't learn much about her this go around, but since she was neutral with me, I had a better chance to become friends with her than let's say Aki. We finished our lunch and got up from the table. I followed her to where we rinse out our dishes and set it on the conveyor belt for it to be cleaned by machines.

We split ways and I decided to explore more around campus before my classes. Once it was nearly time for classes, I made my way to my class. I didn't share an Art class with Aki, but I did share an Art class with Mitsuki. I sat beside her at a table since it was the only seat available.

"W-Wow we share the same Art Class.." Mitsuki said shyly.

"You like to draw?" I asked.

"I do...It's probably all I ever do in my room." Mitsuki smiled at me and looked at her sketchbook. "When I'm not drawing, I usually make supper for everyone."

"Really?" I asked.

"Mhm, we have a garden in the backyard and I usually tend to the garden. I only use the freshest ingredients because it's much healthier and tastes much better." Mitsuki said.

I can't say I wasn't impressed. She looked to be the youngest of the household. "How old are you if you don't mind me asking."

"I'm only 18." Mitsuki said. "I am the youngest of the household with Orime only being 19."

"So everyone else is 20 and up huh." I said.

"Rena is the oldest. She's 24." Mitsuki said. "Aki's birthday is coming up. She'll be turning 21 this November."

"When's her birthday?" I asked.

"November 29th." Mitsuki said.

"Wow, that's a few days after mine." I said. "I'm November 20th."

"You both are November babies that's pretty awesome." Mitsuki smiled.

Mitsuki had to been one of the nicest girls I've met out of the seven. She doesn't mind talking to me at all, like Rena and Momoko. It's just nearly impossible to become friends with her since I only see her this period and at home I can't really interact with her other than a simple hello and goodbye.

As classes went forward, Mitsuki taught me how to draw more advanced things and I caught on pretty quickly with the fundamentals. My drawings still sucked but with Mitsuki's teachings, I was progressively growing better.

The bell rang and Art class ended. The rest of the day, I didn't share any classes with the other women. The day went by smoothly and classes ended. I walked home alone since the walking together rule was now active. I looked at the sky as I walked and reminisced on the day. The only two I was able to successfully talk to was Rena, who still was rather neutral about me , but she was on the doesn't mind me side and Mitsuki who completely didn't mind me living under the same roof.

Although I shared classes with Aki, Momoko, and Sayaki, I felt like we didn't make any progress. My schedule also wasn't the same everyday as tomorrow I have Geography, Music, Chemistry, and Gym Class. Hopefully I'm able to share classes with different women so I can try to become friends with them as well.

I got to the house and used my key to unlock the door and walk in. "I'm home!" I said as I took my shoes off before entering the house. I don't know why I announced myself when here I'm outcasted from the rest.

"Welcome home!" Rena called out to me from the living room.

"Thanks!" I replied and walked down the kitchen hall then made it to the living room. I made my way to the stairs and walked up them to get to my room. I walked down the hall and noticed Aki. "Hey Aki."

Aki looked at me and rolled her eyes then walked past me and entered her room, closing the doors.

'Damn. It really be like that.' I thought to myself. I just walked into my room and closed the door then sat at my desk and got on my computer to do a few things before getting on my bed and scroll through my phone until dinner and everything. My first day...was pretty alright. I was hoping for more days where I can actually build relationships instead of being treated like a villain.
