10 101-103 AC - Relationships and Sadden News

(Before we get into another chapter I hope everything has be grand while away on personal duties, I would love to explain many things. One, I would like to explain the most is the world Aegor lives in. You may notice there is changes to ages, time lines and appearance compared to the book and show. I decided to keep and change things for more better reasons ahead. It's good as well to help both book readers and the series watchers to enjoy it as much.

Somethings won't make sense neither will the events, this is politics, it doesn't matter if you like someone, things will be done for power and fame. None the less I'm trying to keep things as close to both the show and book. The MC will have flaws and it will be shown majority of the fanfic, his mental health will shift and change to become more... Darker.

How else will the man survive while in the time of rebellion and in fighting. Be warned things won't be nice this is Asoiaf and House of the dragon, shit will happen.)

Only two candidates were considered, Visery Targaryen, oldest male of house targaryen. The other candidate was Princess Rhaenys, the kings eldest descendent.

Lords and Ladies of the realm stood there looking, all waiting. On either side they waited patiently for the verdict. Aegor stood next to Aemma, Rhaenyra in his arms. She look on at him and her family with awe at the castle around them. Here they stood at the top of the hall, a throne which the king sat on, doing what he was best for as his nickname: the conciliator. All around them encasing them barely, the hall of harrenhal. Once proud and no doubt still is, piece of Westeros history. Previously the family home of Hoare, now, house strong held it.

Black beautiful hair his auntie had, the Targaryen famed silver like hair only streaked alongside it. Her beauty no different from any other targaryen princess, worthy to fight a war for. Her husband was a man of many nicknames, built by his adventure to essos and beyond. The renown Sea snake, weaver of tides and a man of immense wealth from his adventure away from westeros.

Dark complexion, silver blonde long hair, he stood a head bigger than most men with violet eyes. He famed from House Velaryon, the only house except, House Targaryen and Celtigar to escape the doom of old Valyria.

As a fanatic of history and lover of architecture, Aegor saw the potential this place still had, he wondered why no one had attempted to complete it whole again. The huge hole in the throne room explained why such an attempt was futile, nonetheless, such history couldn't be left in a state.

He was glad his brother invited him to come, not only to share this moment with him and his family but to see the infamous castle. The moment was sadly interrupted when he looked on, bated breath with everyone around him saw the king, scroll in his hand, voice aged shout aloud.

"It is declared by all Lords paramount, and Lords vassals of the Seven Kingdoms..."

He unrolled it, the echo of his speach still in the hall, the choice of the next king or queen await his finally words.

"That Prince Viserys Targaryen of House Targaryen to be the next Prince of Dragonstone, and Heir to the Iron Throne."

Claps of the Lords and Ladies now sounded, Viserys heaved a deep breath, in shock or something, Aegor didn't know. Everyone seemed happy with the decision, even the king himself. The only people not to was, his cousin and uncle in law.

Hardened expression they now had, however, the look of no utter shock at all, Rhaenys seem to have. Aegor knew why, a queen in a male dominated society, was not possible, it was more possible to see a non targaryen bond with a dragon than that.

Aemma, Rhaenyra and Viserys turned to smile at him, so he smiled back, wanting to congratulate his brother. Aegor knew this would be a pivotal moment in westeros history and he was here to see it, and with him to help his brother, hopefully it would be a more happier moment to show what was to come than like events before. Like Maegor.

However something Aegor didn't know was that, he, the little girl in his arms and many people in that room would be surrounded in a time of uncertainty. A time of arguably the worst era to be a Targaryen.

[103 AC]

Viserys was now heir to the throne. A year and couple of months after the Great Council. Since than Aegor stayed at kings landing by the command of the king, whilst Viserys, Aemma and their daughter went to Dragon stone. Aegor wanted to go with them and stay at the Ancestry Home of theirs. Yet, the king orded him to stay and squire underneath Ser Ryam Redwyne.

Not alone though, he had surprisingly gained a friend at this time. Lyonel Baratheon. The younger son of Boremund Baratheon. Second son to the Lord of Storms End.

Lyonel was like his brother Borros Baratheon, big, strong and temperamental. They were similar, the Baratheon blood was strong. Such why his aunt had black hair. The opposite of Aegor, his best friend. Out-going to Aegors silence.

All of it started since meeting at Harrenhal, Lyonel's father Boremund after years of taking care of his realm, finally stepped up and try to connect house Baratheon like his father did with his sister Jocelyn to involve themselves with the Targaryens.

Although his sisters daughter never became queen, it didn't stop him from trying to better the realm for the generation. When he had met the heir, while not satisfied fully, he found him good enough for now.

He had met both King Jaehaerys and Viserys, both heartedly greeted him and agreed in his opinion. Becoming the Maester of Laws, to forever keep justice in the realm and make sure nothing to spiral out of hand. While being the hand seemed more desired, King Jaehaerys explained such a thing he couldn't do, to do that was for him to Sack, Otto Hightower. The Hightowers ambassador. Doing so would cause the ire of the reach and more importantly, the hightowers.

Soon after Aegor met Lyonel, the large Baratheon showed interest in the Prince, hearing of his talent in the sword and personality. In so they sparred. Aegor wielded a hand and a half sword, a bastard sword. Lyonel was unconventional, a shield and mace, a truly massive mace that was pitch black like his hair.

When they sparred it was evident of their age difference, Lyonel already knew of battle through destroying multiple bandits in his realm. Five years his senior, one and eight. Connecting multiple times using his shield to counter his bastard sword.

Nose red with blood and a bruise on his eye, Aegor this time waited and baited the young Baratheon, after one succes of slashes around his shield, he slammed his fist in the large boys chest, crushing the air from his lungs.

Seeing the shield as a threat, he used the wooden sword to rendering the boys wrist from underneath to around it in a circular motion. Lyonel tried to counter by swing his extraordinary big mace.

To no eval, Aegor dodged under it, kicking the back of his knee from behind him, sword to his neck. Barely able to hoarsely surrender, he uttered it out. Than when he got of his knee, claps surrounded them. Aegor and Lyonel now only noticing their audience. From the looks of things multiple ladies and Lords had came to watch them spar.

At the front this crowd to their astonishment was, Lyonels father, Boremund. The man was tall like his son only a tad bit shorter. To the shock of people he had a smile on his face, weird considering he witnessed his son lose the duel.

After praises from everyone including the Lord of Storms End. Lyonel and Aegor carried on sparring. Neither not knowing when both started getting closer. Maybe it was the share feeling of being in line to nothing, attraction to complete opposites or becoming companions from experiencing a full spar to see who was better at fighting.

Now they were in the balcony having a glass of wine together, laughing yet again at Lyonels crude joke of his last visit at the local brothel in King's Landing. Lyonels was quite devious, multiple times partaking in brothels like his brother.

"You shoulda seen her, gods, she had pair of jugs on her! Could of even made you stare in awe! HAHAHAHA!" The roar of his laughter and maybe part of his joke caused a couple of chuckles from Aegor.

"*Chuckle* She must of been a sight to see for 'Lyonel the brotheror'." Aegor smirked, amused by his pals stare.

"Normally I would've caved in a man's cheat for saying such a damn nickname..." Lyonel said serious, he stared at Aegor for a second until both laughed hysterically.

"Hahaha! If that was anyone else, I'd say someone would believe you. *Chuckle*" Aegor laughed holding his chest. Lyonel slapped his leg at his friend than pointed at him.

"Why not tag along to the brothel? Come it'll be some fun, maybe we'll see if we can get a women with long white hair as well." Aegor shook his head, Lyonel clicked his tongue, cursing beneath his breath.

It was a sight to see, Lords, servants and Ladies of the red keep looked on to the boys. Despite the conversation being vulgar, many women listened on interest to hear Aegor interest in women. While a small amount wanted to simply stare on at the pair that leaned on the balcony, slamming cups together.

Aegor had grown taller, now same height as Lyonel (194cm). Both were broader, stronger than your normal man. Lyonel's curlier hair went down to his nose, a dark brown almost black hair that patched his sky blue eyes. His chin had stubble, his slight bigger muscle made him seem bigger than he already was.

Compared to his younger self, Aegor didn't only get bigger but his once girlish beautiful face now became more masculine, eyebrows were sharper like his jawline, his cheekbone become prominent. His hair now was styled backwards with some of his hair on either side. Filling his imposing figure was muscle that was not originally there, his forearms were veiny, bicep flexed anytime he brought his cup up.

"My prince's..."

A voice quiet, whisper almost, said behind them. A small young female servant being that voice. When they turned to her, Aegor asked. "What is it?"

"I have been given word from Ser Ryam that the king is of need of you in his chambers." She uttered at not as timid as before.

Drinking the last bit of what was left in his cup, he thrown it to his pal, what caught it effortlessly. "I'm needed elsewhere my friend. I'll see you in the courtyard later."

"Aye. See you Cousin!" Lyondl shouted to his brother all in blood, as he left not before Aegor said.

"Beware girl, I'd run if I was you. Lyonel is quiet a... Beast. When left alone with a women of your properties! *Chuckle*"

The Booming laughter of his Friend in the distance and the dashing footsteps of the servant girl, never funnier. Now he had the king to meet.

[PoV: King Jaehaerys I]

As the young Hightower girl, took care of him, King Jaehaerys could only thank her. She reminded him of his daughter Saera, on several occasions he had accidentally forget it was her instead of his daughter.

He missed everyone, his daughters, sons, he knew soon. He will meet them. His final days were upon him, now that succession was completed and the future as secured as he could possibly give. He waited. Without his wife. He missed her most.

*Knocking*

"Excuse me my king... Aegor is here." The voice of the kings guard announced to him of his newest visitor.

"Yes... Bring him in."

For a second he thought had seen his son, Baelon alive again. But he was to large, now he remembered. His grandson, he almost forget his name being shouted just now.

How the boy had grown. His wrinkled old face smiled lovingly. He remembered when he first roade Aurrax, what a beautiful night. It brought his own memories with Vermithor alive again. How he would miss his dear companion.

"Come here..."

The boy strolled up, confident in every step. Ser Ryam had done a good job, if only the boy was the heir, despite the boys opinion, he was a natural leader. Confident, strong and intelligent. True Targaryen.

Once the boy finished thanking the smiling young Hightower, releasing her from her duties. He was left alone, with him.

"Did I do a good job, as your grandfather?" He tried to sound confident, yet now the weight of his loses came full swing.

All the decades being a King, meditating over the Seven Kingdom, ruling it, governing it. He had forgotten his family, to absorbed by his duties and not his fatherly ones. He wondered if that was why he had lost them. Not being a better father.

Jaehaerys saw the surprise on the boys face, he chuckled and horrible one that showed his deteriorating health. He smiled, the boy smiled. In that moment she was there. Alysanne.

"You couldn't of done it better... You kept us save, built a strong last future for us... You are the best king there has and will ever be, and a forever loving grandfather."

He stared at his grandson in the eyes, the love his children shown, the awe they showered him in. Were there in his eyes. It felt like a lifetime ago, whole, peaceful, weightless...

His vision was going, thd sound his grandsons voice lessening. A smile came to his face, leaning back, he embraced this familiar sensation.

He didn't notice the shouting, the screams. The sounds of multiple loud steps coming to his bedside. All he felt was peace. There he saw them. His children, in the light, shouting to him, to join them. More importantly... His wife, lover and queen, Alyssane.

She was beautiful as ever, his moon to his night. He stepped to her. And finally for one last time embraced.

Than everything went... Dark.

Surrounded by his Grandson, the Kings guard and Alicent Hightower. King Jaehaerys, first of his name, died peacefully, arms out stretched. Hugging something, a smile on his face.

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-

Viserys had came back, alongside his family. Lords and Ladies greeted them, giving their sorrows to them. No Aegor was with them. Rumor of King Jaehaerys death probably all over the realm. He knew what happened, his brother was there.

A day after he left, never to be seen again. It had been a fortnight since staying in King's Landing. Yet Aegor never arrived. King Jaehaerys funeral had already been done. Now with the rest of his family.

It had spreaded of his brothers disappearance. Another case of Saera had been rumored. Wherever he was Viserys hoped he came back and sooner, it was unusual to see him gone. All worried for him. Him, Rhaenyra, Aemma and the young Ladies, Alicent and Laena.

His friend Lyonel had took it hard, whoring, drinking and training himself to death. Last time he heard of the man was when he almost killed a Knight for hearing bad words of his brother.

Rhaenyra didn't help, asked constantly in worry for her uncles whereabouts. To see him again.

For now it was if utmost paramount importance to fix the realm, in its dire hour. For now his brother was at the back of his mind. When everything was done, then he will fret. Now he had duties to uphold.

(That's the ending, quite saddening I'll say, took some hell of some sad music to imagine the scene between the king or ex king with Aegor. Aegor now gone to who knows where has made the Targaryen family in its most vulnerable spot especially when rumours of him are greatly exaggerated. I can understand him leaving suddenly. No father, feeling encounted for his mother's death. No seeing his grandfather die before his eyes while sharing such a loving and unforgettable moment.

The list goes on. What interest me the most is Lyonel, a person that shouldn't be alive in this era, maybe, wonder how he goes on in the show and how big of a role he plays. The relationship between him and Aegor seem quite fascinating, both respect each other as warriors, and bring out the good out of each other. Like ned and robert.

Or maybe if Rhaegar and Robert had a better King, to bring them together. Who knows, Lyonel seems quite like Robert maybe that leads to more interesting outcomes in the future. For now I simply hope you've liked the chapter, well I certainly did while writing it. Give me ideas of what Aegor should do while away. It'll be interesting to read.)
