4 Chapter 4 Successful Surgery_1

Zhang Yang had wanted to spew some harsh words at Yang Xiao, but upon seeing that abyss-like, fear-inducing gaze of Yang Xiao, he suddenly felt afraid. The fear of death that had enveloped him earlier once again swirled in his mind.

"Get lost!"

Yang Xiao didn't want to waste time on Zhang Yang and lowly growled.

Zhang Yang, hearing this, shivered uncontrollably.

While retreating, he trembled as he said, "Kid, you're dead meat! I will tear you into pieces."

Yang Xiao's icy gaze swept over again, and Zhang Yang, scared witless, weakened in the knees and quickly turned to run away.

After watching Zhang Yang disappear, the murderous aura emanating from Yang Xiao gradually dissipated, and he became gentler.

Chen Yufei also siphoned her thoughts from the recent events back to the present and said to Yang Xiao, "The surgery is arranged, to happen in one hour. Once it's done, you can leave."

"Okay, the surgery is what matters," Yang Xiao immediately agreed.

The operating room prepared for Mo Mo had been on standby. As soon as a suitable donor was found, they could proceed with the surgery immediately.

Yang Xiao's appearance had brought hope for Mo Mo.

An hour later, the pre-surgery preparations were complete. At eleven in the morning, Yang Xiao and Mo Mo were both wheeled into the operating room.

Chen Yufei and Su Qian'er stood anxiously waiting at the entrance of the operation room.

"Yufei, don't worry too much. I believe the surgery will go smoothly," Su Qian'er comforted Chen Yufei, who was shaking so much that her hands trembled.

"I also believe it will, Mo Mo will be okay," Chen Yufei's voice was filled with a sobbing tone.

She was very worried about her daughter, terrified that something might go wrong.

"Yes, it definitely will," Su Qian'er encouraged, gently patting Chen Yufei on the shoulder.

In the operating room, the surgery was ongoing intensely.

However, for Yang Xiao, the transplant surgery wasn't complicated; it only took half an hour before he was out of the operating room.

Although the process of harvesting hematopoietic stem cells was very painful, Yang Xiao didn't make a single sound of pain. Coming out of the ward, his face bore no hint of suffering, just a touch of worry. He was very concerned about his daughter Mo Mo's condition.

After the successful surgery, Mo Mo still had to stay in the observation room for a month.

But as long as there was no initial rejection reaction, Mo Mo should be able to recover smoothly.

However, whether the surgery could successfully proceed was still an unknown.

"Sir, you need to rest now and receive an IV to recover your strength. Please follow me this way," said the nurse who followed Yang Xiao out.

Yang Xiao, however, waved his hand dismissively, "No need, I'm fine. I want to stay here and wait for the results of my daughter's surgery."

"Yang Xiao, you..." When Chen Yufei heard Yang Xiao say 'my daughter,' she immediately became angry.

But Su Qian'er stopped her, "Okay Yufei, he's just had surgery, don't get upset with him. Besides, the nurse is already aware of the relationship between Yang Xiao and Mo Mo."

The nurse glanced at the three of them and without saying anything more, turned back to the operating room.

Chen Yufei took a deep breath, slowly calming down before continuing to say to Yang Xiao, "What you needed to do is done, now you can leave!"

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiao shook his head, "Mo Mo is not out of danger yet, I won't leave."

"This is not for you to worry about! If you don't leave now, when Zhang Yang comes back for revenge, you are dead," Chen Yufei said coldly.

She had some understanding of Zhang Yang. He was accustomed to acting high and mighty; when had he ever been beaten by someone? Since Yang Xiao had beaten him mercilessly, there was no doubt that he would seek revenge.

Chen Yufei was only speaking out of consideration for the fact that Yang Xiao had donated bone marrow to her daughter. Otherwise, she wouldn't bother with Yang Xiao's life or death.

"Zhang Yang? I said I would deal with him. Once Mo Mo's surgery is successful, I'll head straight to the Zhang Family," Yang Xiao stated.

"Go to the Zhang Family? You must be insane! That's suicide," Chen Yufei retorted derisively.

Yang Xiao had only been a lowly security guard before and had spent five years in prison; coming out with nothing to his name, what could he possibly use to fight the Zhang Family?

"Suicide? Perhaps. If that's how you see it, I won't argue. But I can promise you, I will thoroughly investigate this illness of Mo Mo, and I'll give Mo Mo an explanation," the look in Yang Xiao's eyes was determined and confident.

Seeing the two arguing fiercely, Su Qian'er quickly intervened, "Okay, okay, both of you stop. Let's be quiet; Mo Mo is still in surgery!"

Out of consideration for their daughter, the two momentarily stopped arguing and waited quietly for the surgery results.

After two hours of anxious waiting, the attending doctor finally emerged from the operating room.

"Doctor, how did my daughter's surgery go?" Chen Yufei hurried forward to ask.

The doctor wiped off his sweat and nodded, "The surgery went smoothly, Miss Chen, rest assured. However, we now need to wait patiently and observe. As long as there is no rejection, the patient should recover soon."

Hearing this, Chen Yufei let out a long sigh of relief. However, her body suddenly went limp and she fell backward.

Yang Xiao reacted quickly, reaching out to support Chen Yufei.

The softness of her waist made Yang Xiao pause for a moment.

"What are you doing? Get lost!" Chen Yufei, although weak, was fully conscious.

Yang Xiao had no choice but to let go.

No sooner had he let go than Chen Yufei fell to the ground.

Su Qian'er had intended to help her, but lacking strength, she failed to hold her and nearly fell alongside Chen Yufei.

Yang Xiao didn't attend to her but instead said to the doctor, "Doctor, thank you. From now on, please take good care of Mo Mo's recovery."

"Don't mention it, it's our duty as doctors," the doctor said with a slight smile, but then noticed something amiss, "Hey, aren't you the bone marrow donor? Why aren't you resting and getting an IV?"

"It's fine, doctor, I'm in good health."

"Being in good health isn't the point! Not resting properly after a transplant surgery could lead to issues later on."

"I understand, doctor. Thanks for your advice. You've worked hard, please go and rest!"

As they spoke, Chen Yufei had already stood up, glaring fiercely at Yang Xiao.

"Yang Xiao, you did that on purpose just now, didn't you?"

Yang Xiao spread his hands with a hint of helplessness, "It was you who didn't want me to touch you!"

"You..."

Seeing the two about to start quarreling again, Su Qian'er quickly intervened, "Enough already, can't you two stop fighting even for a moment? Mo Mo's surgery has just been successful; shouldn't you be concerned about Mo Mo?"

With those words, the two instantly stopped arguing and looked towards the operating room.

Mo Mo's surgery was complete, but she couldn't leave the operating room immediately.

Yang Xiao was eager to go in and see Mo Mo, but he knew that now was not the time. Zhang Yang, he needed to deal with that promptly. The man was vindictive, and he might try to take revenge on Chen Yufei and Mo Mo, which would be the most dangerous thing.

Therefore, Yang Xiao knew he had to make a trip to the Zhang Family now.

"I'll leave Mo Mo in your care, I'm heading to the Zhang Family now," Yang Xiao declared.

"You're really going?" Su Qian'er was surprised; she had always thought Yang Xiao was just speaking out of anger.

"Of course! Didn't you say that Zhang Yang might be the one who hurt Mo Mo? I believe you're right."

"That's what I said, but the power of the Zhang Family..."

"Qian'er, don't try to dissuade him; let him go find his death. Anyway, Mo Mo's transplant surgery is already done," Chen Yufei interrupted the two.

Although Chen Yufei said this, in her heart she did not truly want Yang Xiao to go find his death.

"Yufei, don't talk like that, let's discuss this properly,"

"Discuss? Why discuss with him? We have no relation to him. Let him do as he wishes," Chen Yufei's attitude was still very resolute.

Su Qian'er was at a loss too; she had just reconciled the two, and now, with a few words out of line, they were clashing again.
