Chapter 3

That night I was able to sleep peacefully without nightmares. When I opened my eyes it's already five in the morning. I decided to continue my novel but I decided to brew my coffee first. I felt my body relaxed because of the aroma of the coffee surrounding my whole unit. It smells like I'm in a coffee shop that's brewing fresh coffee beans.

I received a text from my editor that he needs to talk to me so I called his number while sipping my coffee. I guess he didn't get enough sleep because of the manuscripts for this year. I feel him because when I recovered from the accident, I got back to work and the manuscripts at my table welcomed me.

That time thought there's 'Welcome to Hell" banner at the top of the manuscripts I need to check. And after 6 months, I decided to stop working for them as an Editor-in-Chief. I passed my manuscript which got accepted and got published right away.

"hey Je, what's up? You need anything?" I asked while walking towards my sofa where my laptop is sitting.

"Well, I need your manuscript." He said .

"I'm still working on it. Last 8 chapters" I said after checking my novel.

"Are you sure? Next week is your deadline, you know your manager" he said and we both chuckled.

"I'll handle her, don't worry. Why don't you just make your move on her?" and smiled to myself because I want my ship to sail.

"eww girl, that's just eww" he said with disgust in his voice and that popped my bubble.

"You know that she likes you" I said, still pursuing him.

"Well I don't like her and she already knew that I'm into boys. There's no way that I'm gonna fall for her. Anyway, meet me at the coffee shop near your house after 7, I need to see your manuscript and check it" he said and hung up on me. I just shook my head and smiled. I hope that someday Je will realize that he likes Sandra and the tables will turn upside down.

After writer another chapter, I went straight to the coffee shop and decided to just wait for him there.

When I got there, there are some people who's having their breakfast. Because there's already a couple eating at the table where I usually eat, I decided to just stay and inside and wait for Je. And knowing him, he preferred doing our meeting inside.

Minutes later, he arrived holding bunch of papers in his hands.

"oh my god, it's so hot outside" he complained while putting his things down.

"What do you expect? It's summer" I said and chuckled. I offered him a tissue that he accepted without saying anything to wipe his sweats.

"Can I order first before briefing?" He said and I nodded and smiled at him. I followed his steps while shaking my head.

"No one will notice that Je is a gay unless you know him personally" I said to myself because he still dresses and moves like a man. I noticed Black waving at me from outside of the coffee shop so I smiled at him and waved back.

"What are you doing?" Je asked and sat infront of me.

"Nothing, so can we start?" I said and showed him my file.

"So what did you add to this?"

"Last time we stopped at chapter 20 at their wedding but now on chapter 32, they are already working on their annulment" I said while playing with my pen and thinking about my story.

"They will not have a happy ending?" He exclaimed while browsing through my manuscript.

"No. You know how much I hate happy endings" I said and smiled at him. He sighed in disappointment.

"Okay, I won't judge your story because it's not yet done but please think about it" he said and pushed my laptop towards me.

"Alright. I'll finish It by next week so I can send it to you" I said and forced a smile.

"Your contract will end soon, what are your plans? Will you renew it?"

"I don't know, I'm still thinking about it. You know that, that publishing helped me a lot in my career" I said and sipped at my own coffee. When I roamed my eyes at the coffee shop, I saw Black reading at the other side of the café.

"Well, it's up to you. Don't think about anything else but yourself. If God gave you bigger opportunities and plans, grab it and don't let it slip away from your hands" he said and smiled at me genuinely.

"Thank you Je. You really helped a lot in publishing my books" I said and holds his hands.

"We are besties, remember? So what do you take me for? I'm always here to help and support you. And of course your manager can't be left out, she'll pull our hair." He said and laugh with me.

"Let's party after this book gets published, okay?" I said and he nodded.

"Of course, we deserve that. We are working on it for almost three months now, we deserve to unwind a little"

"A little?"

"No, of course all out" he said that made us laugh harder.

After an hour of catching up, we bid our goodbyes at each other. I headed to the hospital where I have my appointment with my doctor. We will try again to bring back my memories thru hypnotism. When I got there my Doctor was already waiting for me.

"Elise, how are you?" She asked smiling.

"I'm good" I answered and sat infront of her.

"Do you remember anything?" She said while finding my records at her drawer.

"None Dr. Ana. I'm still dreaming about the night of our accident but I can't remember his face." I said and sighed.

"It's alright. I want to show you his pictures but I don't want to put you in danger again. Remember months after your accidents we tried to show you his picture but you just passed out and didn't wake up for days" she said and sat infront of me.

"Did you sleep well this days?" She asked while reading my records.

"No, but last night I was able to sleep peacefully, without any nightmares." I said.

"That's good. Are you sure that you want to try hypnotism again?" She said while staring at me and fixing her eyeglass.

"Yes, I want to give it a try"

"Are you ready?" She asked.

"Kinda" I can feel my heart racing while thinking what will happen.

"Don't be nervous" she said and held my hand. I smiled at her and nodded slightly. We already tried this so many times that I already know what to do. She guided to the other room in her office where we always do our session. She let me lay down at the chair in the middle.

"Just like before, follow my voice and relax. We can't continue this if your body is tensed just like now" she said and sat beside me.

"Breathe in, hold your breath and breathe out" I'm just following her instruction. After a couple of minutes I felt myself drifting to sleep but I can still hear Dr. Ana's Voice.

I found myself in a room. There's no light that's why I can hardly see the whole rom. When I saw a door I walked towards it and tried to open it but it's locked. I tried to pull and push it but no luck.

"Elise, breath in, hold your breath and Breath out. Relax your body to find the key" I head Dr. Ana said so I followed what I was told to do.

"what do you see?" I heard her asked so I tried my best to describe to her the room.

"it's dark, there's no one else here but me. There's a door but I cannot open it." I said trying hard to calm myself. I'm scared but I know that I can so this.

"what else?" she said so I roamed my eyes around the room.

"there's a table but it's far away from me" I said.

"walk towards it" she said so I did.

"it's getting far" I said when I noticed that when I walked the room got longer.

"it's okay. Go to the table slowly. Don't think too much. Relax your mind"

I closed my eyes and take deep breaths to calm my mind. I know that I'm overthinking that's why I can't focus on what I'm doing. When I opened my eyes I tried to walk towards the table and I did it.

"it's infront of me now" I said and stare at the table for a second.

"look for a key or something that will help you to open the door."

I did what she told me opened the drawers but I just found a book.

"there'sa book here" I said and opened the first page. I read out aloud what it says in the book.

'No me despedere, te amare hasta el final. Hastaque nos volvamos e encontrar mi amor.'
