Fated Day II

"Haaa...haaa"

Liam and his group rested in one of the rooms in the school building. But unlike the rest of the group who was panting, Liam was fine. He leaned on a wall while staying vigilant.

"Just what the heck is happening! People eating each other...walking corpses..."

Liam glanced at his cousin, Saya who was screaming. And while he understand her emotions, Liam reprimanded her. "Saya, calm down and stop screaming, you'll attract attention. You know how important it is to stay calm in this kind of situation, otherwise, you'll make irrational decisions that could cause your life." He walked over to her and patted her head.

"How can you stay calm despite this situation, nii-san?! People are killing each other out there, and you also calmly killed people." Saya broke down in tears.

Liam's just replied indifferently, "I just accepted our new reality, we can't change what's already happening. What you should think about right now is your survival. As for killing those things, they're not humans. Why would I feel anything from killing them? Tell me, do you feel anything if you stepped on ants on the way? Nothing right? It is the same principle right now."

His answer shocked the group but they contemplated it deeply. They realized, Liam's words were right but there are still some things inside them stopping them from following his thinking. But slowly, those words were engraved deep inside them and slowly change their thinking.

"Alright, rest for now. If you got your phones, call your family right now and check on them." Liam said and the others finally remembered their families.

Liam stayed silent while peeking out the room to see if some of the zombies are coming. When he saw no one in the vicinity, he closed his eyes to check the voice he heard earlier.

After closing his eyes, Liam found himself inside a dark space with a golden holographic screen in front of him.

"What's this...?"

[Host, it is your status. Please check it...]

A cold mechanical voice resounded inside the space.

"System?"

[Yes host]

'I didn't think I would get one.' Liam thought before his attention came to the status board in front of him.

[Bloodline] [Constitution] [Soul] [Evo Points: 3]

"Explain these functions, system."

[Affirmative! The main interface consists of three main functions: Bloodline, Constitution, Soul, and Evo Points.]

[Bloodline refers to the host's bloodline, currently only a normal rank: Human Bloodline. The host can choose to upgrade his bloodline later on with enough Evolution Points (Evo Points).]

[Constitution refers to the host's overall body stats. Under it are four stats: Strength, Vitality, Agility, and Perception. Each of these four can be increased via the use of Evo Points. Each increase in stats will reflect on the host's body.]

[Soul refers to the host's soul quality which can be upgraded with enough Evo Points. Soul quality has various benefits depending on its rank, some benefits the host can get are increased comprehension speed, increase willpower, etc.]

[For upgrading, the use of Evo Points is needed. Evo Points are obtained by various means but the most common way of acquiring them is through killing zombies and other things. Each kill will amount to 0.1 Evo points depending on the strength of the target killed.]

"I understand now, it's like leveling up in RPG games. Killing will give exp or in this case Evo points which can be used to upgrade my stats." Liam nodded in understanding, he was also satisfied with it. "Let's see my current stats."

•Agility: 14

•Perception: 13

[Note: 10 is the average adult's stats while 11 to 15 is for the athletes and average soldiers. Stats of 16 to 20 for those in special forces, etc.]

"Hmm...so my strength, agility, and perception are similar to trained soldiers, with my strength in the range of special forces' soldiers. I can roughly understand the stats but please explain all of it just be sure."

[Affirmative, Strength represents the host's overall physical strength and his explosive power. Vitality represents the endurance of the host's body against diseases, and infections, the body's overall resilience, stamina, and life force. Agility represents body coordination, balance, speed, and reflexes. Perception represents how strong the host's senses are.] 

"I see, since I have 3 Evo points then it looks like I already killed about 30 zombies, not like I counted my kills while we tried to escape earlier." He muttered. "I should add these points in perception first so I can detect incoming danger more easily."

He proceeded to add 3 Evo points to his perception stat, increasing it to 16.

"System, how do I get out of this space?"

[Just think of getting out, host!]

Liam nodded and soon he opened his eyes. He scanned the surroundings and saw the members of his group were no longer panting.

"Let's go!" he said and got out of the room,  the others followed him.

"Kyaa!"

Liam and the group heard a scream nearby. Liam signaled for them to stay while he walked over to where the scream was heard.

He arrived at a corner near a hallway, he peeked and saw two people lowly getting approached by the undead. But what's important was that Liam knew who the people are.

"Saeko!" Liam exclaimed happily before rushing in towards them. He swiftly unsheathes his sword and slashed the necks or thrusts through the head of the zombies in front of him.

Liam ignored the system's notifications as he focused on killing his way towards where Saeko and the other female were. Saeko also Liam and started bashing heads as she and her companion run towards Liam.

A few moments later, they got out of the hallway. Liam along with Saeko and the other female runs towards where Liam left his companions.

"Let's go everyone, many more of them will soon arrive here." Liam quickly said then turn towards the other female whom Saeko was with. "Marikawa-sensei, your the school nurse, right?" he said

Shizuka Marikawa is a very tall buxom woman with ridiculous curves, and her physique is most pronounced by her humongous breasts.

She has waist-length blonde hair that has several bangs coming down into her face, two bangs coming down at the sides running down that also frame her face and hazel eyes. 

She appears to be dressed in a white dress shirt with a brown skirt that was ripped on the sides, slightly showing her undergarments which flustered the three boys, Takashi, Kohta, and Hisashi, except Liam.

"Come on, quit staring at Marikawa-sensei's undergarments," Liam said at the three other boys causing the girls to glare at them. "Saeko and I will be the vanguard. Saya, Kohta, Rei-san, and Marikawa-sensei please stay in the middle. Takashi-kun and Hisashi-kun, can you guys guard our back in case some zombies attack us from behind?" Liam issued orders.

"Yes, leave it to us senpai!" the two tasked for the rear guard nodded.

"Good, Marikawa-sensei, do you know where the keys to the vehicles parked outside are placed?" Liam asked quickly

"It's in the staff room..." Shizuka replied with her signature sleepy expression.

"Good, our next destination is the staff room. Let's go, double time!" Liam started running up front followed by the others.
