Invasion

~Beth~

I heard gasps after my question but didn't bother about it. Seth had a surprised look on his face as if he had never been asked that question in his life. He glanced at Becca who just relaxed into the couch like one ready to watch a show. Standing slowly to the amazement of his friends, he took a few strides to meet me since his legs were long. I arched my right brow in defiance but he didn't seem to notice since he kept coming till the distance between us reduced to a foot.

" I'm Seth Rollands. We have a lot of classes together".

His right hand extended for a handshake. I knew that I would lose my mind if I shook his hand but I would be rude if I didn't. Exhaling through my mouth, I shook his strong hand. I have never felt short a day in my life.

With my twin and I being 5ft 6, we were taller than most boys in our class and the same height with a handful. But now I had to crane my neck to meet his hazel eyes.

His towering height of 5ft 9, intimidated me. His touch yet strong was soft and gentle, my heart must have set a new record today. It was beating so fast I wondered if he could hear it.

I am so sure right now that the rhythm it was beating could make me famous. I broke out of my trance when he started drawing circles on my palms. Shit! how long have I been staring.

I quickly withdrew my hand and walked towards the kitchen so that he wouldn't see how affected I was by that simple action. After calming myself down I decided to play with him a little. Standing by the kitchen's door, I tilted my head to where he was standing.

"It was nice meeting you, what's your name again?"

Without waiting for an answer from him I walked into the kitchen feeling inspired to make spaghetti carbonara. I hope that the aroma would float to the living room. Moving with speed a little less than that of sound, I quickly prepared everything that was needed.

When I was almost done, I closed the lid of the pot and reduced the heat. I closed my eyes to enjoy the aroma that was wafting into my nose, I turned around and sat down on the chair near me.

I could hear laughter drifting from the living room. I opened my eyes and looked at my palms, I wondered what was so funny. Maybe Seth was telling a joke. I heard that he was funny.

I badly wanted to go and jump up and down with them, to share nasty secrets and get closer to Seth. But my logical self triumphed and I sat there. Sighing deeply, I remembered that I promised to text Sharon when to come over to my place to play a video game I bought yesterday.

I decided to do it after eating and cleaning the kitchen. I looked up and got the shock of my life. Seth stood there at the door watching me, he was probably spacing out like myself. Because he seems to have just noticed my arched brow and was probably thinking of what to say. He must've figured it out because he walked into the kitchen, sat down facing me and gave me a smile.

"Are you cooking?"

Is that a question? Wait, is the pot invincible? I can't believe that I drooled over this guy. I bet that that I could flirt better than him. Well Seth you asked for it now you will meet sarcastic Lisbeth.

"Nah! I was just planning an invasion on Mars and these are my subordinates"

I pointed to the ingredients in front of me before giving him a smirk.

I can't deny that I felt a pang of hurt when Beth asked if she knew me. Does it mean that all those glances at school meant nothing to her. I felt like crying but I was a man and men don't cry.

When I saw her skipping down the stairs in a hurry like a little girl running to receive her Christmas present I couldn't help but smile to myself. I bit my lower lip so that my friends won't think I had gone mad for grinning like a fool.

Her top exposed her abs and I was surprised that someone like her gave a damn about appearances. No offense but when I first saw her two years ago, she looked so free spirited and crazy in her tomboyish outfit. Who would've thunk that she could give you a boner by the simply wearing revealing clothes.

Her tiger eyes, dimples and the way she tended to throw her head back when she laughed attracted me. I was even more enticed when I heard she was the most intelligent student in the school and the brain behind most of the really cool stuff in school.

I've caught her zoning out and I have to admit she does that quite often. Sometimes she would look at me and I'd be so lost in her beautiful eyes. Unlike other girls, some who even boyfriends the Millers' twins didn't fawn over me. I learnt that Becca had a boyfriend who lives next to her and went to a different school (but Beth didn't know)

But Lisbeth ignored me like I didn't exist apart from a few glances now and then. I did a little digging and found out that she didn't have a boyfriend nor a close male friend.

That's why I'm here to fill that void. Well then hello Beth, meet your new best male friend and future boyfriend.
