Horrors Unknown | SHORTS

There’s nothing scarier than the unknown. This book compiles all sorts of short horror stories, in all styles and formats. These short stories have no correlation or connection to any short stories from any other chapter, unless the chapter is episodic (meaning they come in individual parts), and have the same title as the last. I recommend checking out the most recent chapters for the FRESHEST short stories Have you ever wanted to post a short story somewhere but have nowhere to put it? Well this is the perfect place! You can submit a story in the community discord (https://discord.gg/jX5SAAXBkx) I'm not sure how you guys will review this since most of these short stories are completely separate from each other, so sorry about that lmao

Don’t Sing With the Choir

A man walked down a dirt path.  He dug through his backpack looking for a certain map.  He was trying to figure out where he was, but he had no clue how. He was panicked, breathing heavily, and considering the ups and downs of suicide in this situation. He suddenly saw something. His savior! It was a village! He zipped up his backpack and booked it towards the village. There was a wooden fence surrounding the perimeter of the village, but there was an entrance along the dirt path he was on.

He walked into the village and looked around. It was completely empty. He struck gold! He pumped his fist as we walked into the closest house. It was small, probably about two rooms. He grabbed a flashlight that was attached to his belt and turned it on. The house was dark, and the flashlight wasn't the best, but it should do the job. He searched the house for anything. Food, weapons, anything he could get his hands on would officially become his. He opened all the cupboards and drawers in the house. He even ripped some loose floorboards off to see if anything was hiding beneath it, but he didn't find a thing.

He walked to the front door, but before he left he took one more good look around the small house. Nothing. He exited the house and went to another. He approached the door and tried the handle, but it was locked. The man backed up slowly, and then ran towards the door at full speed. With a swift and clean kick, the door flew open, crashing against the wall just to the right of it.

The man looked inside. This house was even darker than the last. He grabbed his flashing and clicked the button to turn it on, but it didn't react. The man smacked the flashlight a couple times and shook it. Suddenly it turned on, or at least he thought it turned on.  He looked up into the hall, and he saw a light so bright it burnt itself into his retina, blinding him, although for a second he could've sworn he saw a few faces.  He heard singing.  This was no regular singing, this was something you'd hear from the church choir.  It was loud, super loud, louder than he could handle.

He held his ears and got up, running toward where he thought the entrance of the village was.  He ran away being unable to see and the choir followed him.  Despite him covering his ears, that hadn't worked and his eardrums bursted, which left him with ear piercing ringing echoing through his ear.  It was so loud it was painful.  He was blinded, and now he was deaf.  He ran as fast as he could, but he made one wrong step and sprained his ankle, making him fall and rendering him unable to walk.

He laid there on the ground waiting for his inevitable demise.  He couldn't hear the choir anymore, but he could still feel the violent vibrations from the sound waves in the air.  It was so bad that it practically scrambled his brain.  He curled up into the fetal position and held his head.  Suddenly the man started searching through his person, looking for something, anything to make the agonizing pain go away.

The man reached to the right side of his belt, and pulled out all he had.  His gun.  He put it to his head, and ended his story right there.
