Chapter 4: Everybody's a Suspect

CHAPTER 4: EVERYBODY'S A SUSPECT

Jack, Tatum, Stu, Billy, Randy, and Sidney were all sitting at the water fountain again during lunch talking about being questioned by the police during school.

Jack sighed out "They haven't questioned me yet."

Randy looked over "Really they already did all of us."

Jack shrugged "Maybe I'm not a suspect."

Randy chuckled "Everyone is a Suspect."

Billy nodded "They ask you guys if you like to hunt?" 

Stu nodded "They did."

Sidney was confused "Why did they ask that?"

Stu chuckled "Apparently because Casey and Steve were gutted like they were animals."

Sidney got uncomfortable and Billy got annoyed and said, "Have tact asshole."

Stu was confused "What it's just what happened."

Jack nodded "Well either way if the killer comes for any of you call me before or after you call the cops. I'll make sure to beat the shit out of him."

The bell rang again, and they all got up Jack sighed "Time for class again."

Jack was in the class he had with Casey when Dewey came in. Dewey looked towards him and waved him over "It's your turn Jack."

Jack sighed as he got up and started to follow Dewey to the principal's office. When he stepped in he saw Sheriff Burke. A slightly overweight cop who was balding. Then there was Principal Himbry.

The principal has helped out Jack a lot or at least the Jack before he took over the body, but he thought the principal was still a prick. He also thought the principal was really creepy. He would see him staring at young girls at the school. Sidney even told him how he grabbed her chin today asking if she was alright.

The principal smiled "Jack, Sheriff Burke has a couple questions for you."

The Sheriff sighed "Jack do you like to go hunting?"

Jack shook his head "No sir. But I'm sure you know how I like to fight people."

The Sheriff nodded "We know. You have done a lot for the recognition of this city, but we cannot rule you out quite yet."

Jack shrugged "I understand."

The Sheriff sighed "So where were you last night."

Jack also sighed "Just at my home but I live by myself so no one can really say that I was for sure."

The Sheriff smiled "Yeah, we figured. Just based off your reputation we will let you go today. Just make sure you stay out of trouble."

Jack got up "Well hopefully you find the killer soon."

They all nodded as Jack walked out going back to class.

Later that day

Jack got a call from Tatum.

Jack quickly answered it as it was the middle of the night "Are you alright? I'll come over right now."

Tatum on the other end smiled but said "I'm alright Jack. It's Sidney the killer tried to go after her. She was able to get away though."

Jack sighed in relief "That's good. You sure you guys are alright?"

Tatum looked over to Sidney who nodded "Yeah we are at my place now so we should be fine."

Jack laid back down "Does Billy know?"

Tatum grimaced a bit "Well actually Billy was there and we think he might be the killer."

Sidney shouted loud enough so Jack would hear "No I'm just not sure if it is him or not."

Jack shrugged "Well the police should be able to find out anyways. I'm going to go to bed. You two be safe tonight. Remember Tatum call me."

Tatum smiled "You will be the first Good night."

Tatum hung up the phone and turned to see Sidney who had a sly smirk "Jack huh? What about Stu?"

Tatum scoffed "Stu is an idiot that I would have dumped already if Jack did not say to wait until next week."

Sidney nodded but asked "So you like Jack though?"

Tatum nodded a bit shyly "He is just so….. caring you know. Not to mention he is a hot. Plus if the rumors are true."

Tatum started to fan herself off and Sidney leaned in closer "You have to tell me if they are true."

Tatum smirked "Why you interested?"

Sidney shook her head "No I have Billy. That's if he is not a murdering psycho path. Plus I'm still not ready to do that kind of stuff anyways."

Tatum nodded "To tell you the truth I really haven't done anything with Stu."

Sidney's eyes widened "But I thought you guys have done it multiple times?"

Tatum shook her head "He wants to but I was just never sure. I let him say what he wants because he came crying to me one time about losing his fame at school if he didn't brag about it."

Sidney started to laugh "He must have such a fragile ego."

Tatum nodded as she pushed her breasts up with her hands "He never got to touch them and never will either. Jack though I might let him touch them first night."

Sidney giggled with a smug face "More like you would probably beg him."

Tatum blushed and turned away having Sidney's eyes widen "Wow you totally would."

Tatum was about to retort but then her mom came in "Sidney there is a phone call for you."

Sidney giggled again "Thanks I'll go answer it."

The next day

Jack pulled up to school again and watched as Sidney started to talk to Gale Weathers. He sighed as he realized Gale was right about the situation with Sidney and her mother last year but you would think an adult would have more tact with a highschooler even if she is 18. Should you really be attacking the person whose mother died.

Jack caught up with Sidney an asked "Are you alright?"

Sidney nodded "Yeah I heard Billy got cleared too. Do you think he is mad at me."

He laughed a bit "Well his girlfriend is the reason he was locked up for a night and the same girlfriend also pretty much accused him of being a psychopathic murderer... So probably."

Jack then shrugged "What you going to do though? You were in a high stress situation and fighting for your life."

He then leaned in and whispered "Plus human intuition like that is usually closer to the truth then not."

Sidney's eyes widened as she whispered back "You think it's him?"

Jack shrugged and shook his head "That doesn't matter. What matters is what you think and how you decide to handle the situation until the real killer whoever it may be is caught or killed. I mean for all you know it could be me and I was telling you guys to call me before the cops to waste your time."

Sidney started to get thoughtful for a moment and then asked "Who can I trust then?"

He smirked "Trust yourself. And if your intuition is telling you to trust me or anyone else….. well if you trust yourself then you will trust your intuition."

He then continued "Anyways I got to get to class. Just think about it."

Jack went off to class leaving Sidney in her thoughts. She started to think about everything an analyze everything. She realized she needed to focus more as her life was on the line. Jack gave her the best advice he could but he felt like she would make the same choices as the ones that followed in the movies.
