CHAPTER 11: AFTERMATH OF LAST NIGHT

Jack was sitting outside Nina's hospital room with his phone in his hands scrolling through the comments of the video of Audrey making out with the girl that he saw earlier. He shrugged thinking the comments were not even that mean. He then saw as his helmet was placed on his lap. He looked up to see Dewey with some disheveled hair.

Jack smirked "I'm surprised Dewey. I didn't know you knew how to ride a motorcycle."

Dewey sat down next to Jack "It's part of police training."

Jack nodded "Naturally. Thanks for driving it here."

Dewey sighed as he rubbed his eyes "No problem. Now i believe you have some answers for me."

Jack looked around "I do but I'm surprised Sheriff Hudson isn't here to ask me."

Dewey clicked his pen as he pulled out a notepad "He is still investigating the crime scene."

Jack shrugged "I see, well ask away."

Dewey sighed "First I have to ask this question for two reasons. Why were you there?"

Jack pursed his lips "You think I'm cheating on Tatum?"

Dewey had a blank face "Are you?"

Jack sighed "Of course not. I was at Nina's because Tyler had told me earlier to come over around that time."

Dewey sighed in relief "Good. Now what happened?"

Jack shook his head "Honestly I'm not sure. I pulled up to Nina's house and saw that Tyler's driving side door was wide open only to see his headless body. I immediately hid around the bushes to see if Nina was alive or dead already. When I finally made it to the backyard Nina was running all bloody from the killer and I ran out to save her."

Jack continued "Luckily (he pulled out his knife)I had this on me. Didn't need it though the killer ran as soon as I showed up."

Dewey finished writing "That's good for now. Need some coffee to stay up all night or are you going to find somewhere to sleep?"

Jack smiled "Could you grab me some coffee. Nina's family is gone so I'm kind of all she has right now."

Dewey got up and patted Jack's shoulder "Yeah I'll grab you some. Not like you would get much sleep anyways it's already 3 am."

Jack then watched as Dewey got up and left. The moment he left out the hall the nurse came outside Nina's room "She is awake."

Jack smiled "Good. You should tell the police officer. He went down that way."

Jack pointed to the other side of the hall opposite of where Dewey went. The nurse nodded as she started to look for Dewey. He then made his way inside to see Nina laying in the hospital bed.

Jack bent down and hugged her making sure to not touch the new stitches on her back. Nina hugged him tightly "Thank you."

Jack shrugged "It's no big deal."

Nina grabbed Jack's hand "It is you saved my life. I owe you one or a couple at least."

He smirked "You owe me for keeping your hacking secret too."

She nodded "Of course. How do you know that by the way?"

He looked sad even though he wasn't "Tyler had told me a couple days ago that he finally found a way to get with you."

Small Flashback

Tyler walked over to Jack who was at his locker between classes.

Jack closed his locker to see Tyler right on him "What is it Tyler?"

Tyler looked around "I need your help with Nina."

Jack rolled his eyes "Why's that?"

Tyler scratched the back of his head "Well here's what's happening…."

Back to present

Nina looked sad but still rolled her eyes "Like I would get with Tyler."

Jack leaned forward and whispered "Now I need you to do me a favor."

Nina smiled "Oh, what's the favor."

Jack then told her exactly what to say when Dewey came back. He then sent a text to Tatum who was probably asleep saying that she should go to school without him. He then sat in a chair next to Nina thinking about what to do next.

A few hours later

Tatum POV

I slowly opened my eyes as my alarm went off. I looked at the clock to see it was 6 am. I immediately grabbed my phone to scroll on some social media platforms like I do every morning. However when I look at my phone I saw that Jack sent me a text at 3 am.

I mumbled "He wants me to go to school without him?"

I sighed thinking the day got even more boring an it had not even started yet. I then look at my messages on Instagram and noticed a link. I clicked on it and saw the video that Nina had shown us yesterday of Audrey making out with Rachel a girl from a different school. I started to giggle as I read the comments.

I do feel a little bad for Audrey but I still don't think it's that big a deal. If it was a video of me I would just own it. After all most people who commented on it are probably just jealous that they don't have a relationship with whoever they like.

I smiled as I started to think of Jack. I had been bored most of my life not finding any interest in anyone. Even the guys I dated I never did anything with. I just dated them to try and relieve my boredom but then Jack came along.

He was nice and caring plus extremely attractive. I would be lying if I said I never thought about him in my more private moments. We started dating an on the first night he was able to save me from two killers who I thought were my friends. They were from out of the city so no one else knew who they were an even I at times have trouble remembering exactly what they looked like.

I remember the next day Emma after hearing the news ran up to me and hugged me extremely happy I was okay. I definitely liked her the most out of everyone in the friend group besides Jack of course. Then when everyone else heard about how Jack saved me they knew we would become an inseparable item at school. Everyone who was trying to get in Jack's pants backed off as well. Either from me scaring them or Emma over explaining how nice it is we are together.

I slowly got up about to get ready for the day as I sent Jack a quick text asking if he was alright. I immediately got a response back from him saying he was I breathed a small sigh of relief and got ready for the day.

Normal POV back at the hospital

Jack got up out of his seat. He looked over to Nina to see her drooling in her sleep. He took a quick picture and grabbed his helmet heading outside.

He texted in the group chat saying "Hey guys I need to meet you all right away at the beginning of school. Meet at our lunch spot before classes start. This is not a joke an is urgent."

He got on his motorcycle and started to head to school.

When he got there and parked he noticed Audrey getting dropped off.

Jack carried his helmet as he walked by Audrey as they entered the school. "So lesbian or bi?"

Audrey shook her head and paused her steps "Excuse me?"

Jack turned around and looked over bored "Lesbian or Bi?"

Audrey walked past him "Not lesbian."

He kept walking with her "You really shouldn't care you know."

Audrey looked dumbfounded "Why would I not care?"

He sighed "Most people at this school are probably just jealous that they are not in a relationship. Plus who cares what other people think."

Noah Foster then walked next to them and bumped into Jack. Jack looked at him annoyed "You really have no awareness do you?"

Jack did not even let him say a word before he left. Noah looked over to Audrey "Whose your new friend?"

Audrey tilted her head "Come on everyone knows Jack. He is in our literature class too. Also we are not friends."

Noah nodded "On to more important matters. Why didn't you tell your best friend you were lesbian?"
