The Consequences

"Who am I? That's what I wanna know too." Kett mumbled. She was unable to question herself further more as her conciousness went away leaving her body lying on the floor.

She opened her eyes. She could see Emma's pretty eyes peering over at hers. She smiled a weird smile as she greeted her friend. Anyone could tell how nervous she was. Kett sat up and looked around. "Where are we?" She asked. "In the hospital ofcourse." Emma replied. The recent memories suddenly flashed through Kett's head. "What happened to that crazy doctor?" She asked. "Well, the rumours are that she wasn't the crazy one." She said, kind of trying to ignore Kett. "What rumours?" "Rumours about the murder you just did maybe." She said in a sarcastic tone. "Me? Murder?" "Yes?" "No, Emma. It wasn't me." "Alright then. Did she take her own life?" "No, it was this outline of a body which appeared from my own body. That was what killed her. Non of it was my intention." Kett tried to reason with her, pleadingly. But it was no use. "Ofcourse it was non of your intention but you are the murderer all the same." "No. Please understand me Emma." "I do understand you dear. But I don't understand this beast inside your head." "No, Emma I'm not going crazy. Believe me, she said so. The psychiatrist said so." "You're just delusional, sweetheart." "Okay so what do you want me to do then? Should I stay away from you? You don't wanna be my friend anymore?" "Ofcourse I do. I'll always be." Emma sat beside her and gave her a small kiss on her left cheek. "Don't you worry. I'll always be on your side." As she ended her sentence the door of the hospital room opened and some doctors and some other people who were dressed in white came in, along with a couple of cops. The doctors checked on Kett's wounds. She couldn't beleive her eyes. The wounds were already healed. Then a sudden thought raised in her mind so she spat in out. "How long have I been here?" "Two and a half months." A middle aged lady doctor replied her question. Kett's eyebrows raised. The docotrs turned to the people in white and said that Kett's health was good and that they can take her away. Kett's eyebrows raised even more when she heard that. "Take me? Where?" "Well, after you had just comitted a murder you can't expect them to let you all alone, can you?" Emma was the one who answered. "So are they gonna put me in prison?" "Umm... no not that worse. They're from the asylum." "Wait, what? That's the worst. I have nothing wrong with my brain." "We'll see about that." One of the psychiatrists responded. "Emma please. Don't let them take me." Kett screamed. Her eyes were full of tears. But she didn't spill them. "Come on! Be a good girl and come with us." A fat lady in a long white dress held Kett's hand firmly. "No please. I don't wanna come with you for devil's sake." She yelled clinging to Emma's hand. "Oh I see. You've such a strong bond with this so-called devil." Another lady in white came forward and pulled Kett from her hand. She fell on to the ground as the force was too much to resist. She held on to a leg of the bed she was lying on, swearing at them to go away. That's when Emma came to her and eased her grip on the bed leg. "Come on girl! This is what you need right now." "No, I don't need anything of this sort. Please leave me alone if you really love me." "I do love you but i can't do anything about this." Emma gave her a tight warm hug. "Please look after her well." She said to the people in white as they carried Kett away neglecting all her yells and struggles.
